The next day.

Kate woke up to a beautiful morning on her side of the mattress and saw the open door. She stretched her body and noticed that her sister Ivy was no longer on her side.

"Huh? where is my sister?" she said aloud.

She bolted upright and rushed outside...sweeping her gaze at the front yard...and at the wooden bench... she can't see her sister anywhere!

Oh My God!

She remembered that the door was already wide open when she woke up this morning!

D-did her sister leave Granny's property in the middle of the night?

Did she jump below?

No! It can't be!

She would like to go near the edge but she was afraid of falling below, the trauma is great.

"SISTER WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUU!?" she called out to her. Nobody responded.

She went to the tree.

"Tree! Tree...wake up! I need to ask you something...did you see my sister early this morning?" she asked.

The tree shakes its branches, grumbling. "Why are you so loud? I'm still sleeping!"

"I'm deeply worried. When I wake up this morning, I didn't see my sister beside me. I tried looking for her inside and outside the house...but I can't find here!" she said misty-eyed, her voice was breaking.

Did her sister leave because she gave her a cold shoulder yesterday? If something bad happened to her she can only blame herself.

"I'm sorry but I didn't see your sister this morning," the tree finally responded.

Kate's face was clouded with worry. Oh no! Where to find her sister?

"How about last night?" she asked again.

"I sleep like a baby the whole night. I didn't see your sister leaving the door," the tree replied.

"But the door was already opened when I wake up this morning. You must have seen her getting out of the door!" she insisted, her heart was beating fast, she was going crazy of worrying about her missing sister.

Oh God, where to find her?

"Did Granny wake up already?" she inquired.

"I dunno...you go back inside the house and knock on her room and ask her if she had seen your sister," the tree dismissed her.

Kate sighed heavily and turned around going back to the door.

She entered the house and went directly to Esmeralda's room. She knocked on the door a few times.

The door opened.

"What is it, child?" Esmeralda asked she looks like she just wakes up.

"Granny, I'm sorry to disturb your sleep. I just want to ask you if you happen to see my sister? When I wake up this morning she was no longer lying beside me on the mattress. I noticed that the door was open so I rush outside to check if she was sitting on the wooden bench, but I can't find her anywhere! My sister is gone!" Kate said in a distraught voice, then she started sobbing.

"Shh...don't cry Child...maybe your sister already left us and returned to the vampires last night? You said that the door was already opened when you wake up, am I right?" Esmeralda suggested calmly.

Kate was shaking her head vigorously. "No! She won't leave without saying goodbye to me first!" she insisted.

Esmeralda breathed deeply.

"Granny, please help me find my sister!" Kate begged. She can't accept that her sister will just leave like that without saying goodbye to her.

"Alright, stop crying! I will try my best to find her. Wait for me outside," Esmeralda said and closed the door.

Kate exited the house and waited for Granny on the wooden bench. She stared at the horizon, trying to recall what happened last night.

All that she can remember is that she ignored her sister all afternoon and all evening. They went to sleep side by side on the mattress without talking to each other. And when she woke up in the morning, her sister was already gone and the door was opened!

That's all that she can remember.

If her sister left last night why she didn't hear the door opening? She was facing the door! Why didn't she hear a damn thing!?

Ugh! This is so...frustrating!

How can she go on with the rest of her day without knowing the whereabouts of her sister?

Then out of the corner of her eyes, she saw the big bird, the one who usually brings food for her sister, it's landing on the ground! The bird was carrying a bundle on its beck and placed its cargo gently on the ground...then it flew away.

Kate's mouth widened, oh no!

She sauntered towards the bundle and picked it up, then she went back to the wooden bench.

Her sister hasn't returned to the vampires' headquarters yet. Because if she did, the bird will stop sending food here!

Kate was getting terrified of her sister's safety!

If Ivy was not in the vampires' territory...then where is she!?

The tree didn't see her sister getting out of the house but the door was open...

Granny Esmeralda had also no idea where her sister is...

Her sister's mysterious disappearance is killing her because she is helpless, she was powerless to find her sister on her own and she needs to beg Granny Esmeralda to help her find her sister.

Her sister's life is in danger as seconds pass by, if she can't locate her then what she's going to do!?

Where is Granny Esmeralda? Why does it take her so long to get out of the house?

She's getting restless and wound up!

They have to hurry up finding her sister or it will be too late for them to save her. Her sister is missing, but who took her?

Did someone entered the house and take her sister away or she jumped below...?

Oh God, this is frustrating!

She wants to pull her hair out one by one in frustration!

She rose to her feet and sauntered towards the door wanting desperately to pull Granny Esmeralda out of her room so that they can start finding her missing sister.

She was about to open the door when it opened itself...

Esmeralda exited the door.

"Granny, let's hurry up! We need to find my sister! I'm fearing for her safety!" Kate said worriedly.

"Easy child, calm down..." Esmeralda said in a soft tone.

"Granny, the bird is here awhile ago sending another food ration for my sister, which means she's not currently in the vampires' territory! She's kidnaped by someone! Please help me find her! I'm so worried about my sister! I blamed myself for not talking to her yesterday. She must be upset with me that is why she's gone!" Kate's eyes shimmered with tears.

Esmeralda sighed inwardly. "Alright, let's go! Do you want to ride the silver box?"

"I'll take anything you can offer, Granny! As long I can find my sister today!" Kate said hurriedly.

"Alright," Esmeralda said and snapped her fingers. The silver box appeared in the middle of the front yard.

Kate bolted towards the box, eager to start the journey of finding her missing sister.

Esmeralda watched the miserable girl running towards the silver box, shaking her head in absolute calmness. "Poor girl!" she murmured to herself.
