The Side Character Turned Villainess Chapter 134

Finally, I repaired my friendship with William and the student council room soon returned back to normal.

Well, except for one person.

Millie seemed to be even moodier than usual. Although she still acted the same way towards me, I noticed that every time I would turn my head she would instantly turn from smiling to glaring.

She must be upset that I made up with William. No matter how many times I told her me and William would just be friends, she didn't seem to believe me.

Now that I think about it... Does William possibly think I like him romantically?

That could be the problem. If Millie is so irritated, it could mean that William misunderstood the intent behind my actions. So Millie might be misunderstanding my friendship with William.

That won't do. I'm rather attached to Millie. I don't want to lose her over a thing like this.

Plus, I don't even like William like that.

I just have to reiterate to William that we are only friends. Everytime I saw him, I would say things such as: "You're such a good friend William" and "This is what friends are for!"

Each time, I made sure to emphasize the word friend. He should catch on, right? Well I think it at least worked for Millie. She isn't as grumpy as she had been.

I sat in the student council room and smiled as I watched Millie do her schoolwork with a smile on her face. I giggled, "You look pretty happy today, Millie."

She looked up at me and smiled warmly, "I suppose I am in a good mood."

"Did something good happen?"

She giggled, "I suppose you can say that."

William frowned when he heard this. He muttered, "Why does that make me feel so worried?"

Dante muttered back, "Because you should be."

I rolled my eyes at them, "Stop being so dramatic. I'm sure it's nothing bad. Isn't that right, Millie?"

She tilted her head as she smiled, "How could it be bad?"

I nodded, "See?"

Everyone else in the room grew tense and looked at each other with an uncertain look. I looked at the table in front of me and frowned.

I spoke, "Actually there is something wrong."

William looked at me in anticipation, "What is it?"

My face turned serious, "I don't have any snacks today."

William frowned, "Shouldn't you be wondering about the reason why you don't have snacks instead?"

Everyone looked around the room. I frowned, "That's right... Mary seems to be missing isn't she..."

Isn't she normally here by now forcing me to eat sweets?

Artie frowned, "Why isn't Mary here? Doesn't she never waste a moment to be at Seri's side?"

Millie shrugged, "Maybe she had prior plans."

William crossed his arms while thinking, "If she had, I'm sure we would have heard from her. She always has to tell everyone about her plans." William muttered, "Even though no one cares."

Artie sighed, "She isn't too bright is she..."

I tapped my chin, "Hmm.."

Why do I have such an uncomfortable sinking feeling about this? Eh, I'm sure she's fine. I mean. What's the worse that could happen?

Wait... I almost forgot what an idiot she was. She basically walked into a trap when I first met her. And she was such an airhead she didn't even realize something was wrong.

Could something be wrong?...

...Nah.

I shrugged, "I'm sure she's just outside chasing birds or something." I turned back to my work, "So what are we planning again?"

William answered, "We are planning for Sports day."

I raised an eyebrow, "Sports day?"

I am a bit surprised they have sports here. I didn't think that they had been invented yet. But then again, I never paid attention in history so how would I know?

But wait... Sports day...

Why does that sound so familiar?

I gulped and looked up, "Sports day... As in... Everyone is put on random teams and competes against each other in sports?"

William nodded, "That's right."

"Sports day. Like, let's welcome in the spring with sports?"

William frowned, "That's what they usually say, yes."

My mouth hung open as I tried to process this information.

I remember this scene from the original novel. While everyone was planning for the sports day event... Dante got bored and went for a walk... And that's when he found... And Mary...

I looked at Dante with a panicked expression. I forced a smile, "Say Dante..."

"..." He looked up at me with a cold expressionless face.

"Don't you feel like going for a walk?"

"No." He responded curtly.

I gulped, "But surely you must want to get fresh air... I mean... Don't you find it stuffy in here?"

"..." Dante only stared at me with his unwavering cold glare.

I scratched my arm panicking, "A-Are you sure? Don't you find this planning stuff boring?"

He only shrugged.

No no no! This isn't how it goes in the original novel. Originally, Mary and William were supposed to dance at his birthday party. He ends up dancing with Mary the entire night and completely ignores Ilene.

This infuriates Ilene to the point where she ruins Mary's dress at the ball. Mary starts crying like the baby she is, and then William swoops in and yells at Ilene. He then takes Mary and buys her an expensive dress to change into.

It was a really cute scene.

However, there's some problems with that storyline currently. One, Mary never danced with William at his party. Two, Ilene went missing. So that entire moment never ended up happening.

So what comes next shouldn't be happening now either.

In the original novel, Mary got kidnapped on the day that the student council was planning the sports day event. William had assumed Mary was just skipping or had something else to do.

Dante was bored with planning, so he decided to go for a walk. That's when he discovered Mary's things scattered on the ground. He tracked the kidnappers footprints and found Mary tied up in a barn.

This was the scene where he became obsessed with Mary.

After Dante kills all of the kidnappers, Mary cries. Then Dante tells her about the memory where he let the kittens die.

Of course, this also didn't end up happening. I also managed to change that scene.

Now that I think about it... I've really made a mess of the original storyline, haven't I?

Well I don't care much about the original storyline. In fact, this is a good thing. Doesn't that mean Dante won't become obsessed with Mary now?

That's a relief...

Wait. Why am I relieved to know that?

Dante spoke pulling me from my thoughts, "Should I go on a walk?"

"NO!" I shouted and quickly covered my mouth. Everyone looked at me in surprise.

Why did I shout just now?! Why do I not want him to go?!

Sh*t sh*t sh*t.

If he doesn't go, then Mary might actually die... But if he does go... Won't he become interested in her?

I don't want that.

Wait. Why don't I want that?

No, no. One problem at a time. I need to focus on Mary.

Should I... Go save her?

I scratched my arm as I thought.

If I don't save her, then I won't have to deal with her annoying self anymore...

But then I won't have anyone making me sweets everyday....

UGGGH! I HATE HAVING A CONSCIENCE!

I slammed my hands on the table and stood up abruptly causing everyone to flinch. I threw my hands up and shouted as I ran out of the room, "THAT D*MNED AIRHEAD!!"

William stood up and shouted after me, "Where are you going?! We have work to do!!"

I didn't bother answering as I rushed down the hall. Millie watched me go and slumped back in her seat as she bite her thumb in irritation.

I rushed outside and looked around hectically. Noticing certain places mentioned in the original novel, I started following the original Dante's walking path.

Maybe she's fine. She probably is.. Right?

I mean. Wasn't Ilene originally behind the kidnapping plot? Since she's missing, shouldn't that mean Mary wasn't really kidnapped?

But what if Ilene was still behind it and had just been hiding in the shadows? No. There's no way that's true. Ilene never tried that hard to conceal herself.

So I'm sure she's fine. I'm sure I'm just worried for no reason.

I froze when my sight came upon a wicker basket. Cookies scattered the ground having fallen out from the basket.

F*ck. That's Mary's basket. I recognize the smell of her baking.

That idiot really did get kidnapped. God d*mnit. That means I'm going to have to attempt to find her. But how could I possibly find her? I'm not a tracker like Dante is.

I looked down and noticed clear footprints in the ground. I frowned. Nevermind. It seems that the tracks are rather obvious.

I went to follow the tracks, but paused. I turned around and picked some of the cookies off of the ground. I blew on one and stuck it in my mouth.

I smiled at the sweet taste, "Can't let these go to waste. Plus, grass adds fiber. So that makes them healthy!"

I rushed following the tracks as I finished eating the cookies Mary had originally prepared for me. I quickly found myself in front of the barn.

I peeped into the window and saw Mary tied up. She sobbed as the kidnappers spoke to each other. "What did they say to do after she's kidnapped?"

"The one who hired us said to have as much fun as we want. Just as long as we don't let her leave."

I frowned. Why are there such nasty people in this world? Well looks like I really do need to save her.

I looked around and noticed a broken mask on the ground. What a coincidence. I put it on and then started scaling the building. I climbed into a window. I carefully stepped onto the upper level of the barn and hid behind some hay bales.

I looked down and frowned. There's a lot of them. How did Dante defeat so many of them with no problem? Oh yeah. I forgot. He's an overpowered kind of character.

Also, he has a sword attached to his hip at all times. And I don't. There's no way I can take on all those men like this. So what can I do?

Guess I will have to rely on my genius brain.

I looked around and noticed some matches. Good job genius brain. Looks like we will just have to set fire to the barn.

I grabbed a match and lit it aflame. I giggled under my breath as I watched it burn. I tossed it onto a hay bale and kicked it over the ledge.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" One of the men shouted below.

Since the barn was littered with hay, it quickly went up in flames. Smoke poured out, causing everyone to run for the exits. I jumped down and rushed towards Mary while coughing.

"F*ck! Smoke hurts! Smoke hurts!"

Mary coughed through the smoke, "S-Seri?! Is that you?"

I made my way to her and began to untie her, "Yes it's me! Sh*t! Why is this so tight?!" I reached into my shoe and pulled out a knife. I quickly undid her ropes.

"You had a knife?! Why'd you set the barn on fire then?!" Mary shouted while choking on the smoke.

I coughed, "Because I'm not an overpowered male lead! I couldn't take out those men with a small knife!!! Now let's go!"

We rushed for the window avoiding flames and falling debris. My lungs and my eyes burnt from the smoke. I shoved Mary out of the window and followed after her.

We crawled from the barn coughing and gasping for air. I blinked through my burning eyes at the barn that was now completely on fire.

Oops.

Mary rubbed her eyes and looked at the burning building. She frowned, "Did you really have to set it on fire?"

"Yes."

She glanced at me, "You have an unhealthy fascination with fire."

I stood up ignoring her and helped her to her feet. "We need to go before those men find us."

As we turned to leave, a man jumped out and growled, "Stay right there!"

"F*ck everything." I rolled my eyes in irritation.

The man jumped towards us and swung his sword. I grabbed Mary and pulled her back, "Watch out!"

The sword barely missed her. However, it managed to slice the front part of her dress. Mary fell to the ground and shrieked as her girls were set free.

The man froze when he caught sight of the two large distractions in front of him. I grabbed a large rock and smacked him over the head with it. He fainted instantly.

I tossed the rock, "There." I turned to Mary and saw her sitting on the ground. I helped her stand up and my eyes trailed down to her exposed bosom.

Holy. F*cking. Sh*t.

Those melons are ripe and ready for picking.

Seeing them makes me feel so inadequate... Maybe if I give them a squeeze I will feel better.

Mary shrieked, "KYAAA!"

*SMACK*

I rubbed my face as she covered herself up with a blushing face. I frowned, "Oi! What was that for?!"

"YOU JUST GROPED ME!" She shouted back in embarrassment.

I crossed my arms, "I wasn't groping!!! I was just checking to make sure you weren't hurt..."
