Blood Evolution System Chapter 102

After a moment, once the Grim Gore stood up, it charged towards him before throwing a punch towards his figure. Vincent watched the punch coming towards his head, but he stepped forward and slightly to the right when the punch was extremely close as he just barely dodged the attack by a few centimeters. At the same time, he slashed outwards with his daggers, landing a few hits on its body before stepping backward.
Each time it attacked, Vincent would dodge by maneuvering his body at the opportune moment. Also, he would counterattack each time.
He was only targeting certain regions of the monster's leader body, the eyes and upper and lower limbs of its body.
The daggers went through the wound that Vincent already made before, again and again, deepening the lacerations on the negative energy barriers.
The negative energy barrier surrounding its body was exceptionally thin as compared to the other sides of its body, and Vincent took advantage of this situation pretty severely.
PUCHI
After a few moments, the dagger penetrated through the laceration in the negative energy barrier and deeply stabbed it into the right eyes.
UGH! The obese monster's leader cried out from the pain assaulting its senses as it attacked its tormentor.
Right after stabbing its eyes, Vincent created a dome of blood to block the giant fists coming down towards him.
‹ Blood count: 20/50 ›
While the dome of blood was shattering, Vincent's lips thinned into a smile as he stepped back, wisps of red mist coiling around his jeweled dagger and inky, black dagger, both pulsating with magical energy.
At the same time, as the moan of pain sounded in the grassy fields near the cliff, gunfire sounded off continuously.
The sound of amplified bullets made out of beast's bones shattering glass and piercing flesh echoed as Varth took down half of the group of sixteen monsters all on his own
Varth had managed to kill eight out of the sixteen monsters already, yet he found himself in an encase.
He was surrounded from all sides by monsters whose three ruby eyes overflowed with murderous intent.
Yet, there was not a hint of worry on his face.
One could see a solid black purple crystal embed into a triangular-shaped slot, on his battle gear dissolving into a vast amount of energy of the same color.

The battle gear used that energy to generate a special ability.
At the same time, the monsters surrounding him leaped at him.
A small smile appearing on his face as his battle gear charged up an ability within an instant of a second.
'Showtime.'
The monster's claws were about to tear him apart into pieces, when in that very instant, his figure dissolved into particles of blue and black light as he disappeared under the cloudy night sky.
The claws flew right through the buzzing particles of energy, scattering them apart.
The person that suddenly disappeared appeared a few dozen meters away.
‹ Battle Gear's energy conversion and ability channeling operations are entering a cooldown of five minutes ›
‹ For five minutes, the two functions of the battle gear aren't useable ›
"Now that I can't use it for five minutes, this is gonna take a while," Varth said, aiming his battle gun at the monsters, pulling the trigger, and landing multiple headshots.
Once or thrice could be considered lucky, yet each of the bullets hit the vitals of the monsters, proving that he isn't relying on blind luck rather actual skills honed over the course of many years and countless life and death battles
After another more monster collapsed, Vincent's voice sounded in the area.
"John, the attack patterns of these monsters are simple. They will lunge at you to bite or swipe their claws. Evade isn't the best option for this situation as there are two of them. The best defense right now is attacking them with all you got!"
He was aware that John was hesitant to take the risks of getting hurt when actually there was little to no chance of getting hurt, so he gave him a push.
"I got it," John nodded as the monsters leaper at him.
Following his instructions, rather than stepping back when the monsters leaped at him, John stepped forward and smashed his punch on the ribs of one of the two, causing it to crash on the other one.
John was having a hard time against two monsters, but after Vincent's guidance, he was able to fight back, beating them black and blue with punches and kicks empowered by battle energy.

Unlike Vincent, who was a jack of all trades but a master of none, John had only been physically training combat techniques since forever, and the only thing he was good at while fighting was using his fists and kicks, and although his sense of battle was duller than Vincent's, with a lot of guidance, he could become a powerful combat expert.
"There are only a few monsters left," Leilani said as she looked at the battlefield, "I should hurry and take care of them."
After taking a deep breath, she activated her abilities.
"Lotus Blizzard!" Leilani said as ice energy burst forth from her body, separating into dozens of tiny pieces, each condensing into the shape of a petal.
With a flick of her hand, the tiny petals with sharp ends flew away from the side, heading towards the monsters, and before the monsters could even react, the icy petals rained down on them.
Controlled by Leilani's telekinesis ability, the petals shattered their defenses and pierced their flesh.
In a few moments, under the brutal assault of a volley of bullets and a rain of ice shards, the monsters fell one after another until only was left prevailing.
A moment later, once the minions of the most powerful monster has collapsed without any sign of life and death in their eyes and bodies, Vincent dodged the punch thrown at him, took a deep breath, and shouted at the top of his lungs, "Focus your attacks on its legs and eyes. It will be worse than a sitting duck unable to do anything once we take away its eyes and legs!"
Vincent's words weren't without reasons, as the monster will become useless if it losses its legs and eyes.
After all, the monster did not have any ranged magic. It could only use physical attacks to deal damage.
"Once it becomes immobile and blind after losing its legs and eyes, we would have plenty of time to deal with it."
"Break the barrier around its legs!"
After a moment, the monster's legs were shattered and it collapsed to the ground with a dull thud.
"Kill it!"
Dragons made out of ice, sharp knives, and powerful energy bolts shoot towards the figure, full of chaotic might.
BOOM
BOOM
BOOM
The lacerations in most parts of the thick negative energy barrier and armor grew so deep that they shattered, revealing the thick and defenseless skin of the enormous monster.
At that moment, Vincent's voice brimming with might sounded in the ears of his teammates.
"Don't interfere! I want to slay it by my own two hands!"
"As you wish!"
John and Varth backed off as they didn't have any interest in taking the last hit.
"Alright," Leilani said as she looked at his back with admiration. He was so powerful that he has almost soloed the most powerful monster.
Girls like powerful men that could protect them from harm, and it was true for Leilani too.
"My boyfriend is powerful, kind, caring, and handsome. It's wonderful to just stare at him while knowing that he belongs to me. My stomach is going crazy just thinking about him." Leilani said in her mind as she patted her cheeks with her palms, "Let's calm down!"
Vincent went over to the blind and freshly crippled monster and began his assault.
The blind monster was immobile as it lacked legs and couldn't see anything.
So how could it dodge Vincent's merciless attacks or even catch up to him?
It attacked, however, out of panic, flailing its bloodied arms like its life depended on it, yet Vincent easily evaded them as they were not only slow but also predictable.
Several moments later, Vincent's daggers slashed it in the same place dozens of times before chopping its head off its body.
‹ You've slain the monster with strength just below the entrance to the demonic realm. You've gained 500 experience points ›
‹ Level 4: 1220/700 experience points ›
‹ Sangue Heart skill proficiency has increased to 35% ›
‹ Blood Manipulation skill proficiency has increased to 45% ›

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
