Blood Evolution System Chapter 30

"Thanks for the meal!"
The members of the orphanage thanked Vincent as they enjoyed and savored the delicious food, and while they were at it, Vincent excused himself and headed to his room.
He didn't care much about spending money as in the near future, financial matters could easily be resolved through selling magic scrolls. A single magic scroll was worth a hundred thousand federation cash. Furthermore, the price increase depending on the type and quality of the magic scroll. Besides, he thought that it was worth it, spending a little cash to make the kids smile.
For now, he headed to his room to create the fireball magic scroll. He had all the necessary resources to create one, after all, but now he just needed to focus on inscribing the inscription pattern of fireball on the magic scroll.
‹Daily mission activated: Master of creating magic scrolls›
‹Task: Create a distinct magic scroll everyday.›
‹Reward 1: A inscription pattern that the owner does not know of.
‹Reward 2: 50 experience points›
Vincent's lips thinned into a smile as traces of surprise flashed in his eyes as he looked at the semi-transparent screen that suddenly popped up in front of him.
"Interestingly, I can gain knowledge of inscription patterns and earn experience points at the same time by creating a different magic scroll every day," Vincent internally thought as happiness bubbled in his heart.
It was costly to learn inscription patterns. The teachers who homeschooled him only taught him the patterns of some basic auxiliary inscriptions. While Old Miller taught him about the patterns of water shield, fireball, and so on. It's because the knowledge of inscription patterns wasn't widespread. All in all, knowledge about inscription could only be purchased by paying a certain price or accepting a renowned inscriptionist as a master. Though now, he will be able to learn new inscription patterns without paying a single cent.

Although he was happy, a question still bugged him.
"How come my life feels like a game? What is the deal about missions, Blood?" Vincent internally asked.
‹It will take a few moments for me to explain.›
"Go on,"
‹It's a tradition for the heads of the Sangue family to infuse a part of their power in the heirloom for the next head. However, the next head needs to pass the trials of the previous heads to obtain the power infused inside the pendant. In our case, it seems like the ninth head modified the trials to fit your taste.›
"Father is really good to me," Vincent internally thought. "It's all good, but I wonder what this trial is truly about."
‹In this time and age, everything rides on having power, money, political or military backing. Selling magic scrolls is an easy way to gain money and a lot of it on top of that, and you'll be able to form connections with various parties too, that is what the ninth said› Blood remarked.
Vincent knew that power comes in all forms, not just physical and magical strength. It's widely acknowledged that knowledge is power, after all. In simpler words, by becoming famous as an inscriptionist he'll not only befriend people with status but his status and worth will grow increasingly.
That's a matter of the future, however, and first off, he needs to complete the baby steps.
He walked up to his desk and pulled out all the necessary items to create the magic scroll from the shopper and the drawers, one by one. First of all, he placed the blood vial on his desk. The vial contained the elemental heart blood of a fire beast. He continued by placing the magic scroll and energy conducting brush on the table.

He picked up the energy conducting brush before dipping it into the vial containing fire blood. The moment it was stained with sufficient blood, he pulled it out before pouring magic power in it and swinging it, efficiently using the beast blood as ink to inscribe the fireball inscription pattern on the blank magic scroll.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
As the tip of the brush – which was glistening with the scarlet elemental heart blood of a fire beast – lightly glided on the empty paper of the magic scroll, a fine, red line gushed out from the end of the brush and etched onto the paper.
Vincent's actions were nimble yet smooth as if he was drawing the same patterns for the four hundredth time.
After inscribing the first pattern of the fireball inscription patterns, he proceeded to draw the second one. The fireball inscription was made up of thirty-three patterns and he still needed to draw thirty-two more.
"There are two parts of the creation of a fireball magic scroll. First off, a person needs to inscribe the complete fireball inscription patterns in the magic scroll. This part depended on the exceptional memory of a person and the control over the movements of hands."
He had been memorizing inscription patterns and practicing inscribing them on papers for more than three years. In the past, he had inscribed hundreds to thousands of identical inscriptions on a piece of paper. As for fireball inscription patterns, he had practiced drawing those patterns around three hundred times. Basically, he had memorized the fireball inscription patterns by heart.

8 146Sleeping Titan
In lands that once slept peacefully at night, ancient steel gods impervious to magic have risen from the earth, called Golems by their subjects, and their ripples of fear have spread across the world. Two thousand years, several genocides and an immortal Empire later, the Golems are still alive, and a young elf ends up on a journey that will change their fate forever. Criticism is welcomed.
8 93Manaseared
Adventuring is for losers. Only the absolutely impoverished or the megalomaniacally mad would stoop to graverobbing and dungeon-delving to put food on their tables. As a career it is dangerous, unreliable, illegal, and infinitely unpleasant. Most who choose this life have no other options. They're the seventh sons of seventh sons, the disowned, bastards, impoverished and desperate, and nearly always young. And they are, without fail, losers. Eris is an adventurer. Eris is a loser. Like most of her make she's a teenage runaway with no other options. Unlike her company, she isn't fodder for the meatgrinder. She's beautiful, brilliant, and a talented magician; she's also vain, callous, selfish, and proud. This is her story, as she grows into adulthood, masters her abilities, and learns to care about more than just herself. Manaseared is an episodic fantasy adventure serial. It's also a pastiche of early D&D and RPGs in general, and an attempt to explore at what it might really mean to be a first level adventurer.
8 141The Dead Dungeon
RJ was a great and powerful dungeon, a human reincarnated as a dungeon core he was proud of the monstrous humanoids and deadly traps he built. Unfortunately the awesome loot, and powerful magics that came from him drew the attention of many nations. During a brutal siege in which the elven nation tried to defend against the Southern dwarven kingdom, a rogue human faction snuck in and shattered RJ's core. Now the dungeon town is a burned ruin, the magnificent hundred level dungeon has colapsed, and in a tiny lonely crack, a shard of RJ remains. Lacking access to any of his old monsters or abilities, can he ressurect the dead dungeon? more importantly, can he stop the sentient races from discovering and fighting over him once again if he does? I can think of someone who would be happy to be your choice mate." I spit at him and he stops pacing to face me. "I don't want to reject you, Natalie. I want you. As our mate and our Luna. We're twins. We're a packaged fucking deal." He snarls and I shake my head, crossing my arms over my chest and squaring my shoulders. "I don't care." I say. "I only want one."
