'Unknown: I'm here to kindly remind you. Your decision needs to be made by tonight. I will send you the address one hour before the meeting time. I want you to bring the signed contract with you and place it where I tell you to. I will know if you play any tricks. If you don't come alone, if you play tricks with the contract, if you don't come. . . your beloved brother will die.'

He Xinyan looked over and widened her eyes, "Wasn't it two days?"

Gu Yechen also narrowed his eyes with a sigh, "He probably meant two days as in yesterday was the first day."

He Xinyan felt her heartbeat speed up and she grabbed onto Gu Yechen's arm, "Let's go. We don't have much time."

Although she still didn't and couldn't believe that Wu Minger had anything to do with it, this was their only hint right now. They had to try. . .

Half an hour later, they arrived at the Wu family's house.

He Xinyan had come here often as a kid and as an adult, and she immediately knew where to go. They rode the elevator up to the 7th floor and He Xinyan got out, calling Wu Minger again.

Once again, no one picked up.

On the way here, Gu Yechen had called Chen Xiao to find out where Wu Minger was and track her. There was still no response yet, which only made the two of them more anxious.

He Xinyan obviously wanted to believe that Wu Minger wasn't behind it, but so far. . . There were too many coincidences. Her mother's name was Wu Yin, she had a brother, her father. . . died, and according to Gu Yechen, she was acting a little unusually yesterday.

He Xinyan rang the doorbell as she hung up the call because no one was answering. They waited several seconds before she pressed the bell a second time.

Over a minute had passed and they didn't hear anything.

"No one's home."

"Do you know if her mom has a job?"

He Xinyan furrowed her eyebrows together, "No, she doesn't. But I do know what company her brother works in."

At once, they were on their way to Wu Minger's brother's company. It took another half an hour for them to arrive, even if Gu Yechen was driving way faster than the speed limit.

The two of them ran into the company and asked the front desk, who refused to tell since they were "outsiders".

But, Gu Yechen being Gu Yechen - He obviously had the company's CEO's phone number. A few minutes later, the CEO himself had come down to the front desk running.

When he saw Gu Yechen, his eyes lit up and ran over, stretching his arm out as he leaned forward, "President Gu! What honor do I have for you to visit my company? How may I help you?"

Gu Yechen didn't bother to shake his hand as he knit his eyebrows together, "Do you have a worker here named Wu Chenxi?"

The CEO obviously didn't know every single worker in his company, and he immediately turned to the front desk worker, "Hurry up and search!"

The front desk worker had no clue that the man she had rejected was actually the famous Gu Yechen. With her hands shaking, she quickly searched up the name Wu Chenxi in the company's system and stuttered, "Yes, he works in the engineering department."

"Did he come to work today?"

The front desk worker quickly clicked a few more times, "Um. . . No. He wasn't here yesterday or today."

He Xinyan's eyes widened slightly as she looked up at Gu Yechen, who also looked back at her.

"Mr. Gu, may I ask why you are looking for this. . . Wu Chenxi?" The CEO asked cautiously.

Without getting any reply, Gu Yechen grabbed onto He Xinyan and they left the company, leaving the CEO in disappointment and confusion.

"Why don't you send her a message?"

He Xinyan pulled out her phone and opened up her messages:

'Minger, where are you?! I have something very important to ask you about. Please call me or tell me where you are!'

They entered the car and waited for a while, but there was still no response. It was already after lunchtime by now, and they both did not know when "afternoon" meant.

Suddenly, there was the ringing of a phone call and He Xinyan excitedly lifted her phone up to find that it wasn't her phone.

"It's yours," she said.

Gu Yechen looked at the screen and picked up the call:

"Yechen, did you figure anything out? We only have two more days left," Xu Mengya's worried voice entered the car.

Gu Yechen sighed, "We only have one more day left."

"What do you mean?!"

"The person meant two days as yesterday was the first day already."

There was a gasp and then a soft shriek, "Yechen, what are you going to do? I. . . I - Why don't you just. . . Ah, I don't know!"

Gu Yechen lifted his arm up and pinched the area of skin in between his eyebrows, "Don't worry. I will figure something out. I'm going to hang up. Bye."

Then, he hung up and closed his eyes.

He Xinyan sighed and looked out the car window, "What if we just. . . call the police?"

"It would be a risk," Gu Yechen stated softly. To be honest, he didn't really trust the police much. When he had been kidnapped by Yi Qiansi as a kid, the police were of no use.

Apparently, all of the police stations in Country Z and Country X were notified of his kidnap, and none of them were able to do anything. Even in the end, he had escaped on his own and ran into the Gu family's bodyguards, not the police.

He Xinyan nodded her head, "Or maybe. . . You should get the contract ready. Just in case. . ."

Gu Yechen didn't say anything for several seconds before finally sending Chen Xiao a message, "Did you find anything yet?"

A second later, he got a reply, "The last time Wu Minger was seen was after she left your house and returned to her own. She hasn't been seen leaving her apartment since then."

Gu Yechen frowned, "Does Wu Minger live with her mom?"

He Xinyan nodded her head, "Yes, she still does. . . Well, sometimes, she would go live with Yebei."

Gu Yechen then quickly texted Chen Xiao to get the contract ready before starting the car, "Let's go to Yebei's house."

Almost three hours later, they had searched Gu Yebei's entire house and did not find any signs of anyone or anything unusual.

Gu Yechen had a key to his brother's house but rarely used it, so they had to return to their house first to retrieve the key and then go to Gu Yebei's house.

When they returned to their car, Gu Yechen received two notifications.

The first one was from Chen Xiao. He had delivered the contract to their house and left it inside Gu Yechen's private office.

The second one. . .

'Unknown: The address is the second warehouse on Second Yulin Street. You should see a chair when you walk inside. I want you to put the signed contract on the chair and then exit the warehouse and return to your car. Then, stay in your car until I tell you to get out again. I expect to see you there within two hours. Understand?'

Gu Yechen slammed his fist onto the steering wheel after reading the message and closed his eyes. Once he gave his shares away, his position inside the company was basically also gone.

Even if the other shareholders and board members respected him, without any shares, he basically had no power.

And. . . If the person behind this was actually Gu Hanwu's son, then he was technically also a descendant of the Gu family. He could very well use the shares and climb up onto his spot in the Gu Corporation.

Then, the Gu Corporation wouldn't belong to him anymore.

Gu Yechen tapped his foot onto the gas pedal. Would that person actually kill Gu Yebei? If he did, then that would be murder. If they caught him, then he would be put to jail.

However, he couldn't risk it. He couldn't put his brother's life on the line and risk the possibility that the person wouldn't actually kill someone. What if he would?

He Xinyan read the message and took a deep breath before unbuckling her seatbelt, "Yechen, listen to me."

Gu Yechen looked up at He Xinyan and tried to maintain a calm expression on his face, "Yes, baby. What is it?"

He Xinyan grinned, "You go home and get the contract and go over to the address the person gave to you. Try to be as slow as possible. Even if you show up, stay in the car for a bit and don't put the contract onto the chair until the last minute if you can."

"I'll go and try to find Wu Minger or Wu Yin. . ." He Xinyan did not have much confidence that she would be able to locate them since they had been trying for the entire day, but this was their only hope now.

"Understand?"

Gu Yechen stared at his wife for a few seconds before nodding.

He Xinyan leaned forward and kissed Gu Yechen quickly on the lips before getting out of the car and closing the door.
