"Yechen!" She called again, but it seemed like he wasn't even in the room. Where was he?

She stayed laying on the bed in pain for a very long time, and each second seemed to be like eternity. Soon, she realized that the pain came in bursts. Sometimes, it would get a little better but then suddenly, it would be extremely bad again.

She was beginning to feel tired again, but she couldn't fall asleep because whenever she tried to, the pain would suddenly become even more unbearable. She was certain that the babies were trying to come out! Was she going to have a premature delivery?

Right as the burst of pain she just felt lessened slightly, she heard the door open.

"Yechen. . ." She called as loudly as she could, but her voice still sounded very weak and in pain.

The lights opened and she opened her eyes slightly to see Gu Yechen run over.

"Where were you?" She said, her voice cracking as she almost felt like crying.

Seeing her in pain, Gu Yechen felt his heart clench up in pain and he immediately grabbed onto her hand, "I'm sorry, I was in the office. What's wrong? Does your stomach hurt?"

He Xinyan nodded her head and held on extremely tightly to Gu Yechen's hand, "A lot -"

Gu Yechen's pupils dilated and he felt his heartbeat speed up as he reached down and carefully lifted the blanket up.

"Do you feel like it's wet down there?" Gu Yechen asked, not sure how to phrase the question well.

He Xinyan was so focused on the pain that she seemed to have lost most senses, and didn't bother to think about whether her water had broken or not until Gu Yechen's reminder.

"I. . ." She squirmed slightly and her eyes immediately widened, "Yes, yes. . . Gu Yechen, my water broke! It -"

She seemed to lose basic common sense or calmness when she realized that her water had broken two weeks before it should have, "Gu Yechen, what do I do?"

Gu Yechen had looked up a lot of information about what to do, but at the moment, he was also a little lost, "I'll. . . I'll call the ambulance."

He did not know if he was supposed to carry her up or move her, so the best decision was to probably call the ambulance.

After making it clear that he wanted the people here in five minutes, he hung up the call and wrapped both hands around He Xinyan's sweating hand.

"Does it hurt a lot?" Gu Yechen asked, although he already knew the answer from looking at her sweaty and pale face. The almighty King and genius Gu Yechen also had times when his brain would jumble up and he would be also too nervous to think clearly.

He Xinyan closed her eyes and nodded her head as she pressed her lips together.

Gu Yechen felt his heart ache with pain from her response, and he gently placed one hand onto her cheek, brushing through her hair.

"Hang on, okay? I promise it won't be for too long. . . I will buy you as much cake as you want when this is over!"

He Xinyan chuckled weakly, "I will get fat. . ."

"It's okay, you are too skinny." Gu Yechen smiled and gently placed one hand onto He Xinyan's stomach, rubbing it in circles in hopes of decreasing her pain.

"The ambulance is coming very soon. Don't worry. . ." Just as he spoke, the sound of the sirens on an ambulance could be heard from outside, and Gu Yechen let out a breath of relief, "Do you hear that? The ambulance is here. Let's go to the hospital, okay?"

He Xinyan nodded her head.

"I'll go get the door. I'll be right back." Gu Yechen kissed her on the lips quickly before running out the room and down the stairs. He opened the door and coldly glared at the doctors and nurses standing outside, "Hurry up!!"

At once, a stretcher was pushed into the room by the nurses and doctors and they ran up the stairs. They all knew how important this patient was, so they were all 101% alert.

A few minutes later, He Xinyan and Gu Yechen were in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Luckily, since it was very early in the morning, there weren't many cars on the road.

Gu Yechen called Xu Mengya and Gu Hanyu and they were originally upset about getting woken up at this time, but when they heard what was happening, they both quickly jumped off the bed, put on a jacket, and ran out the door.

Although all the nurses were rushing around in the ambulance, Gu Yechen still stayed right next to He Xinyan the entire time, holding onto her hand.

About 12 minutes later, they arrived at the hospital and were immediately pushed in. Although it was just a pregnancy, the entire hospital was in a rush because it wasn't just any pregnancy. .. it was the wife of Gu Yechen's pregnancy!!

Gu Yechen was kept outside the room as He Xinyan was pushed in to prepare for labor, and he fell back onto the chair in the empty hallway.

He couldn't help but blame himself for tonight. He should have just stayed inside the room with her. Why did he leave to go do work?!

Gu Yechen slammed his fist onto the armrest of the chair and buried his head into his hands. He didn't know for how long she was in pain, and what it would be like to have no one around her when she was suffering, not even him.

He took a deep breath to try and calm himself and he looked up, tapping his feet against the ground anxiously.

A few minutes later, he heard the sound of hurried footsteps and he looked up to see Xu Mengya and Gu Hanyu running towards him.

"Where is Yanyan? How is she? When did she start feeling pain?" Xu Mengya asked nervously, still in her pink bunny slippers. It was clear she had forgotten a jacket because Gu Hanyu's jacket was over her and he was in his sleepwear.

Gu Yechen gulped and felt a little guilty when thinking about how he had been away from her when she was in pain, "She's inside. . . I'm not sure."

"How can you not be sure? Ah, isn't her delivery date supposed to be two weeks later? What happened?"

Gu Yechen gulped, "I was in my office doing work, and when I returned she was calling for me."

Xu Mengya's mouth fell open, "How could you be doing work?!" She angrily slapped him on the shoulder and looked towards her husband, "Look at your son! Is work more important than your children?!"

Gu Yechen obediently listened without any objections this time and he also felt incredibly guilty inside. He should have been more considerate. He completely didn't think about the possibility of premature delivery, so that was why he didn't think much and went to work.

Xu Mengya angrily sat down a few seats away from Gu Yechen and crossed her arms together angrily. The three of them were in silence for a minute until suddenly, the door opened and a nurse walked out.

The three of them immediately jumped up simultaneously.

"Mr. Gu, do you want to be present during childbirth with Mrs. Gu?" The nurse asked.

Without any hesitation, Gu Yechen nodded, "Yes."
