He Xinyan immediately blew up, "Who said I don't like them?! I like them! I don't like you! Hmph!"

She angrily stood up slowly because it was much harder than usual with so much weight on her stomach and turned around, walking towards the stairs.

However, when she reached the stairs, Gu Yechen immediately appeared and grabbed onto her hand, helping her up the stairs.

She didn't resist this because she also didn't want to take any risks, and the stairs were quite dangerous, especially for a pregnant woman.

When they reached the top, she pushed Gu Yechen's hand off and entered the room, sitting down on the bed with one hand on her hip and the other on her stomach.

"Don't be mad anymore, the cake is here."

He Xinyan frowned, "Where?"

"I had Chen Xiao buy it earlier and he says he is here already. I'll go get it for you, okay?"

He Xinyan pursed her lips out and although she wanted to stay angry, she couldn't give up on the cake, ". . . Okay," she said gravely.

Gu Yechen smiled and rubbed her head softly before going down the stairs to get the cake. He opened the door, took the cake from Chen Xiao, and without any other words, closed it in Chen Xiao's face again.

Ah, poor Chen Xiao. He was playing a game and had to stop midway to go and buy a cake for Mrs. Gu. His teammates were probably still mad at him!

Gu Yechen brought the cake up and gave it to her angry little wifey, whose anger immediately dissipated when she started eating the cake.

Gu Yechen was used to her mood swings by now. One moment she was angry and upset, and the next she was happy again. Hopefully, it might be over once the babies are born. There were still about two weeks until the estimated delivery date, and they were visiting the hospital basically every other day by now.

The private hospital was completely focused on He Xinyan because not only did Gu Yechen have a special identity that no one dared to offend, but also because the fraternal girl and boy twins were very rare.

If anything happened, Gu Yechen had made it clear that the hospital would have to pay.

At night, He Xinyan went to bed before 10 P.M. She was used to sleeping early by now since Gu Yechen forced her to sleep early since she got pregnant.

After she fell asleep, Gu Yechen very carefully and slowly got out of bed and walked out of the room. He then entered his office to finish off some important work he didn't do.

He left the company again since it was almost time for He Xinyan's delivery date and he wanted to spend all the time at home with her just to be careful.

However, even so, he still had some work to do. So he would do all of it at night after He Xinyan had fallen asleep.

He stayed in the office for over three hours, and when he saw that it was 1 A.M. already, he closed the computer, stood up, closed the lights, and left the room.

He walked quietly and slowly, carefully opening the door to the bedroom and slowly walking in.

However, once he walked in, he noticed that something was wrong.

Although it was very weak and soft, in the silence of the night, it was still really easy to hear.

"Yechen. . ."

Gu Yechen's eyes widened as he opened the lights and ran over to the bed, only to see He Xinyan's small face red and scrunched up in pain, and beads of sweat rolling down her face.

He Xinyan was deep into her sleep, lying uncomfortably on her back and unable to move because of her large stomach.

In her sleep, she furrowed her eyebrows together and a few seconds later, she slowly blinked her eyes open. It took quite a long time for her eyes to adjust to the darkness, and she gulped uncomfortably.

She placed one hand over her stomach and said softly, "Be good babies, okay? Mommy and daddy are trying to sleep."

She did not know why, but her stomach hurt a lot. It was almost like the two babies were fighting inside or something, but the pain was almost unbearable.

She closed her eyes again and tried to fall asleep, but the pain just seemed to get worse and suddenly, a scary thought flashed past her mind.

No way. . . There were still supposed to be two weeks? She was probably overthinking. . . right?

Although He Xinyan really wanted to just ignore the pain and continue to sleep, it was way too bad. She normally could not stand even the slightest bit of stomach pain, but this was 100 times worse than normal stomachaches.

Reluctantly, she turned to the side to wake Gu Yechen up, but she didn't see him!

He Xinyan's eyes widened and she lifted one hand up, patting the empty space next to her. Where was he?

"Gu Yechen!" She called and then waited for a few seconds in the silence with no reply.

"Husband!" She called again, still hearing no reply.

The pain was getting worse and worse and she tried to push herself up, but it was basically impossible with her gigantic stomach.

It was clear that she had twins because her stomach was at least 1.5 times larger than a normal pregnant woman. This made it much harder for her to do regular tasks. Even standing up felt like an exercise to her.

The pain only made it worse. He Xinyan tried again, using all of her energy but still with no success.

"Ah!" She cried out softly from the intense pain, and she almost wanted to just faint. The two worst types of pain in the world to her were stomachaches and headaches. She could not stand it!

"Yechen!" She called again, but it seemed like he wasn't even in the room. Where was he?
