Wang Yani and Gu Kexin's deaths were quickly forgotten, and everyone went on with their normal lives without being affected in the slightest.

The same goes for Gu Yechen and He Xinyan.

For the next few days, He Xinyan stayed home and Gu Yechen went to work. She began learning the piano because of all the free time she had, and she personally believed that she had a lot of talent in the instrument.

Of course, Gu Yechen's ears had to suffer and his mouth had to lie for the past few days as well.

He Xinyan would go visit the He Corporation once in a while to check that everything was on the right track, and she still helped out during times when it came to making big decisions about the company.

Recently, Gu Yechen has been coming home really late. He rarely was able to eat dinner with He Xinyan, and she had to order takeout most of the time since obviously. . . she couldn't cook.

When she asked why he was coming home so late, he responded by saying that the workload was increasing and there were many things to do.

Slowly, the entire first month of the new year passed by without much happening.

Along with piano, He Xinyan also began knitting a white sweater for Gu Yechen since it was wintertime, and staying at home for 24 hours a day was indeed a long time.

One day when the temperature had warmed up slightly, there was a sudden knock at the door after lunchtime.

He Xinyan was the only one home as she walked over to the door and opened it to find Xu Mengya excitedly standing there.

"Auntie Xu!"

"Xinyan!" Xu Mengya jumped forward, hugging onto He Xinyan, "Oh, I missed you! I haven't seen you in so long. Let's go out and play together today!"

She said, her words sounding like a 6-year-old girl asking her BFF to go on a playdate.

"Okay!" He Xinyan was more than happy to go outside and play. She had been at home for the longest time and she felt that she was going to rot if she stayed in here for any longer.

Together, they entered the house.

"Where are we going to go?" He Xinyan asked.

"Let's go to the beach! The sun is finally out today." Xu Mengya said excitedly, lifting up her shirt slightly to show the swimsuit she had already prepared inside.

"Okay, let me go get ready quickly." He Xinyan said before pulling out her phone and texting Gu Yechen to tell him she was going to the beach with his mom.

After a while, there still wasn't a reply and He Xinyan stopped waiting as she walked up the stairs to go get ready.

She quickly changed into her only swimsuit and wore a yellow spring dress over it. After applying a thick layer of sunscreen over her body, she ran back down the stairs.

"Auntie Xu, I'm ready. Let's go!"

Together, they left the house and entered Xu Mengya's car.

He Xinyan felt that she was very lucky to have such a mother-in-law that was not only nice and looked young on the outside but also had a young spirit inside.

They were literally like friends around the same age, and there wasn't any uncomfortable feeling about going out together.

As they drove to the beach Xu Mengya talked about, He Xinyan finally decided to ask.

"Auntie Xu, did Uncle Gu let you come outside?" This was a very important issue.

Upon hearing this, Xu Mengya's expression turned even more excited as she nodded her head.

"Yes, yes! I got his permission this time."

He Xinyan let out a breath of relief. Phew! She didn't want to be guilty of stealing Uncle Gu's wife away from him.

The beach was quite far away and He Xinyan couldn't help but think that it was a little weird how they were driving to go play on a beach when there was a private one right behind Gu Yechen's house.

However, she didn't say anything because she was very happy to be able to go outside and hang out with Xu Mengya.

"Which beach are we going to?" He Xinyan asked.

"A very pretty one! I'm sure you will like it," Xu Mengya replied as she began driving a little faster. It was clear that she was very excited to go to the beach with He Xinyan today.

The sunlight wasn't extremely bright like in the summertime and the weather was also quite cold with a gentle breeze in the air. However, it was already much better than the previous days.

Halfway there, He Xinyan suddenly remembered something. She turned to look at Xu Mengya and asked:

"Auntie Xu, you know Minger?"

Xu Mengya nodded her head, "Oh, yeah! Yebei's girlfriend, right? She's a very cute little girl."

He Xinyan nodded her head, "She's also one of my very close friends. Should I also call her out and we can go play together?"

Xu Mengya didn't respond for several seconds and she frowned slightly, almost as if she was thinking hard about something.

Finally, she shook her head.

"It's okay! Let's just go together the two of us today."

He Xinyan didn't continue on insisting to carry Wu Minger alone.

A little over an hour since they left, they arrived at the beach Xu Mengya was talking about. Together, they carried their beach supplies off of the car and walked down onto the sand.

"The sand here is so soft and clean," He Xinyan exclaimed. Unlike most beaches, there wasn't any trash or seaweed or anything dirty on the sand.

Against her feet, the sand felt very soft and there weren't any stones that hurt her feet when walking.

Besides that, there was also no one there except them. He Xinyan thought that maybe it was because few people went to the beach during the wintertime, and they were lucky to run into the time when no one else was here.

Together, they set up their beach blanket and sat down to eat some food.

He Xinyan's spring dress reached her ankles, but with the ocean wind blowing against her, it was still very cold.

After eating, they went over to the water and stuck one foot in. Unfortunately, the ocean water was too cold since it was still wintertime and they weren't able to play in the water.

So, they ended up staying on the sand the entire time.

Even so, He Xinyan was very happy to come out after such a long time and feel the fresh wind and soft sunlight against her skin.

After talking and eating for a long time, they stood up and began walking down the shore, listening to the ocean waves crash against the shore as they talked endlessly about random things.

They walked for about half an hour and were planning on walking back when He Xinyan suddenly heard the soft sound of a piano playing not too far away.

"Auntie Xu, do you hear that?"

They both fell silent and listened intently. Above the sound of the water, they both heard the beautiful music coming from not too far away.

"Someone is playing the piano!" Xu Mengya exclaimed, immediately grabbing onto He Xinyan's arm and pulling her over to the direction the music was coming from.

Since He Xinyan has been learning how to play piano recently, she was also very interested to see who was playing on the beach.

Together, they continued to walk and stepped into the cold water slightly to walk around a large rock that was originally blocking their view.

When they reached the other side, a white piano glistening in the sunlight came into their view.

Both Xu Mengya and He Xinyan gasped in awe as the beautiful music became louder. The person was playing Pachelbel's famous Canon in D, and the sound was absolutely beautiful.

He Xinyan couldn't help but admit that her piano skills sucked in comparison.

However, when she looked over to see who was playing, her mouth and eyes both fell open in surprise.

"Gu Yechen?!"
