The next morning, Gu Yechen and He Xinyan went to eat breakfast in the dining room.

Although she didn't want to eat with the Gu family, she was still staying here. So, there was no way she would avoid meeting them forever.

Plus, she wasn't the one annoyed. They were. So, she happily enjoyed her meal as the rest of the people all ate uncomfortably.

He Xinyan thought that she could just eat one or two dishes here for the rest of her life, and she would still never get sick of it.

The food was genuinely so good! If it weren't for the food, she would definitely leave. However, no matter how annoying the people here were, if the food was unchanging, she would still choose to stay.

Why give up such good food for irrelevant people?

After eating a large breakfast, He Xinyan left to go take a walk in the backyard of the mansion because she was so full.

Gu Yechen was going to go with her, but she said she could go alone since he was talking with his uncles. Therefore, he stayed to talk with his second and third uncle, and He Xinyan left to get some exercise after a big meal.

He Xinyan walked out to the back of the building, where there was a small pond full of fish and several rare and beautiful plants. The backyard was really big, and He Xinyan slowly walked around as she looked at the plants.

There were also many fruit trees that had many flowers on it waiting to grow into delicious fruits.

He Xinyan walked towards the pond and looked at the colorful fish swimming around. Indeed, the Gu mansion was quite a sight, even for a person born in an upper class family like her.

She bent down to look closely at the fish swimming in the clear water, but as she did so, she immediately heard the sound of high heels clicking against the stone ground.

She looked up to see Gu Kexin walking over to where she was. Gu Kexin wore a pink qipao and her hair was tied up into a neat bun.

She looked extremely beautiful and elegant, and it was clear she was raised in an upper-class family.

He Xinyan stood back up and smiled at Gu Kexin, who didn't return the smile. They stood face to face, a few feet away from each other.

No one said anything, and He Xinyan was very patient as she stared at Gu Kexin, not even blinking.

Finally, Gu Kexin opened her mouth.

"Miss He, you're still here!" She said sourly.

"I am indeed." He Xinyan grinned sweetly as she lifted her chin up slightly.

"You are quite shameless, aren't you?" Gu Kexin said with a mocking smile.

"I can't compare with you, Miss Gu."

Gu Kexin's smile disappeared, "What do you mean?"

"You know perfectly well that. . . someone doesn't like you, yet you still push yourself forward without any sense of shame."

Gu Kexin clenched her fists together, "What do you mean, Miss He? I don't know what you are talking about. Please watch your mouth."

He Xinyan smiled and didn't say anything else as she continued to walk in the background and look at the different plants. Gu Kexin followed behind her, glaring at her angrily.

"Miss He, you might not know very well about the Gu family. It is the most powerful family in Country Z for a very long time now. Not everyone can be a part of this family."

He Xinyan nodded her head, "Very true! So, Miss Gu, you are very very. . . lucky to be picked up by the Gu family as an orphan to come and get to experience this wonderful experience."

Gu Kexin angrily clenched her teeth together, "Miss He, I am a part of the Gu family! Please watch your mouth."

"A part of the Gu family? Sure. . . Except that you have absolutely no blood relation to the Gu family, Miss Kexin."

Gu Kexin was so angry her face turned slightly red, but after being raised in an upper class family since birth, she was still able to maintain a calm composure and not do anything unfit for her "status".

"He Xinyan, you should know that brother Yechen isn't just anyone that you can cling onto. He is the heir to the Gu Corporation and the eldest grandchildren of the Gu family. There is no way anyone, including grandma, will let you be with him. If you are smart, then you should probably leave on your own and not get kicked out."

Gu Kexin had expected He Xinyan to get mad right away, but to her surprise, He Xinyan smiled.

"If I am actually smart, then there is no way I would choose to leave Gu Yechen, don't you think?" He Xinyan's smile widened as she saw Gu Kexin's eyes narrow slightly and her lips curled downwards.

"You. . . You're so shameless! You are no match for brother Yechen! Only I am the right match for brother Yechen!" Gu Kexin narrowed her eyes as she took a step forward.

"I think that is up to brother Yechen to decide," He Xinyan replied, purposefully emphasizing the word "brother".

The two of them stood in the middle of a large plain, and there were several stone statues behind them, carved into different animals and figures. Besides them, there was no one else in the huge backyard, since most people were either still in the dining place or in their own rooms.

Gu Kexin glared at He Xinyan angrily and raised one eyebrow, "I'm sure brother Yechen will know what is best for him! Plus, no one welcomes you in the Gu family, including grandma. Don't even think about it!"

He Xinyan took a step forward, and since she was taller than Gu Kexin, she looked down at her.

"So you are thinking about it? An orphan picked up by Gu Yechen's grandma."

Gu Kexin hated when people reminded her of the fact of her being an orphan, and she didn't even know what her birth family was. . . But it was very, very unlikely that it was better than the Gu family or on the same level as the Gu family. She shook from anger as her eyes turned red.

With tears boiling in her eyes, Gu Kexin angrily turned around and marched away.

He Xinyan smirked as she looked at Gu Kexin's back, and she rolled her eyes annoyingly. She was finally gone! But as He Xinyan turned around, she was met with another person.

From behind a statue, a man just a little shorter than Gu Yechen walked out. It took a second for He Xinyan to recognize who it was, as she remembered seeing him during lunch yesterday.

He was the son of Gu Yechen's third uncle. His name. . . Well, He Xinyan forgot.

The man had a very angry expression on his face as he walked over to He Xinyan, stopping in front of her.

"You are?" He Xinyan raised one eyebrow, not really pretending to be polite. If he had been behind the statue this entire time, he would have witnessed her exchange with Gu Kexin.

There were several seconds of silence before the man said through gritted teeth, "I am Gu Zihao."

He Xinyan nodded her head as she turned around to leave, "Nice to meet you."

"Wait!" He suddenly called.

He Xinyan slowly turned around and crossed her arms together, "How may I help you?"

"I overheard you talking with Kexin," Gu Zihao said as his eyebrows furrowed together.

He Xinyan had guessed that so he wasn't surprised or shocked, "Cool."

She turned around to leave again, but Gu Zihao suddenly grabbed onto her shoulder, forcefully turning her back around.

"Leave Kexin alone," he said with a strong hint of anger in his voice.

He Xinyan grinned as she pushed his arm off, "I did. It was she who came to find me and talk to me. I didn't go looking for her."

Gu Zihao frowned, "It doesn't matter. Talk to her more respectfully. If you treat her like that again, I can't promise I won't do anything."

He Xinyan stepped towards him, causing him to take a step back.

She smiled, "Do what? What can you do to me?"

" I -"

He Xinyan cut him off, "Respect is earned, not given. And it is clear she doesn't deserve my respect."

Gu Zihao narrowed his eyes furiously as he glared at He Xinyan. However, she didn't care as she smirked and got ready to leave again.

"Why does big brother like a woman like you? Rude and mean." Gu Zihao curled his lips downwards in disdain as he looked at He Xinyan, who looked back at him, her smile slowly disappearing.

"Then why do you like a woman like Gu Kexin? A white lotus. . . that's fake."

Gu Zihao's mouth opened slightly in surprise as he forgot to respond for a second. He never said he liked Gu Kexin, so how did she know?!

"You. . . What are you talking about? She is my sister." Gu Zihao said, looking away guiltily.

"You're kind of really obvious, you know?"

Gu Zihao's face turned slightly red as he cleared his throat, "I don't care what you say. You better leave her alone and be more respectful, or else. . . "

He Xinyan raised one eyebrow humorously before turning around and waving at him from behind, "Nice meeting you. Hopefully, by the next time we talk, your eyes and brain have both opened."

Gu Zihao blinked his eyes a few times as he watched He Xinyan walk back into the dining place. She. . . Gu Zihao shook his head as he turned away and walked towards his room. She bullied Kexin so she is evil.

Yes. Gu Zihao nodded his head and entered his room.
