He Xinyan rode the elevator down to the first floor and entered her car.

She then summarized everything that happened before putting her phone away.

The entire morning had gone away already, and it was way after lunchtime, but He Xinyan wasn't hungry. She leaned back against the car seat and closed her eyes.

She started the car and slowly drove back to the Xihe Estates. She knew that Gu Yechen would definitely be in his house waiting for her, but she still decided to go to the He mansion first.

Gu Yechen pulled the chair out for her, "You can leave the rest up to me. I will take care of Bai Jiawei's trial."

He Xinyan leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek, "Okay!"

When she looked towards the table, her mouth fell open at the sight of two large boxes.

She recognized them! They were cakes from the Haosu Coffee Shop.

When the door opened, the room was immediately flooded with light. Bai Jiawei squinted his eyes from the sudden brightness. When he saw the person outside the door, he immediately jumped up and banged his fist against the glass.

"Let me out! Let me go! She's going to kill me! Help me! I need to get out!"

He Xinyan looked back at him one more time, and a small grin crossed her face before she stepped out into the light.

The room was dark once again.
