"What about the DNA report?" Bai Jiawei narrowed his eyes.

He Xinyan smiled, "I didn't believe him, because I have treated Auntie Li and Li Yuyan as my family for so long. So, I decided to do a DNA test. . . But who would have thought?! It is true!"

He Xinyan sighed and looked down dramatically.

Although Bai Jiawei didn't really believe He Xinyan's dramatic act, it didn't matter. Li Yuyan wasn't his kid and Li Huiran has been lying to him all these years. That was all that mattered.

Bai Jiawei angrily marched up the stairs and slammed the door shut, disappearing into his room.

He Xinyan jumped up happily and ate another piece of fruit. That was indeed a very good show! If she had some popcorn and maybe someone to watch with her, it would have been better! That someone being. . . Gu Yechen of course!

Now that Li Huiran and Bai Jiawei had divorced and Bai Jiawei is no longer depending on Li Yuyan as his option anymore, it was time to get rid of Bai Jiawei.

But before then, she had to go celebrate!

He Xinyan grabbed her phone, bag, and the DNA report and skipped out of the house, down the street, and over to Gu Yechen's house.

The sky was black by now after the long and amazing show, and Gu Yechen was waiting for her with all the food heated and ready.

"Aww, love you baby!" When He Xinyan saw that all the food was ready, she pinched Gu Yechen's two cheeks like he was a baby and blew him a kiss.

Gu Yechen was very happy as he pulled her in for a real kiss. However, it ended when He Xinyan's stomach began grumbling because she was hungry.

During dinner, she told him all about what happened today from beginning to end.

She got more and more excited as she spoke that she stopped eating so she could finish the story. When she finally finished, Gu Yechen put a bunch of food into her bowl and said forcefully, "Now eat."

He Xinyan obediently nodded her head and began stuffing food down her throat.

At night, He Xinyan decided to go back to the He mansion to sleep. It would be the first night without two bugs inside the house!

She walked in through the front door. . . with Gu Yechen.

Since the two bugs were gone, there was only one bug left. He Xinyan guessed that the final bug was inside his room, and she was right.

So, for the first time, Gu Yechen didn't have to climb walls. He was able to walk in through the front door proudly with He Xinyan!

Inside the room, He Xinyan and Gu Yechen laid down on the bed together and Gu Yechen began playing around with He Xinyan's hair.

"In a few days, I will be finished. . ." He Xinyan said softly.

Gu Yechen nodded his head, "Let's go to sleep."

The next few days passed by quickly, and it was a great time for He Xinyan.

During this time, Li Huiran and Li Yuyan came back to the He mansion several times, in hopes of being able to convince Bai Jiawei to let them back.

However, they were kept outside the door every single time, and after a while, they left.

Bai Jiawei had a horrible temper every day, and it didn't seem like his anger would go away anytime soon.

Before long, it was time for the board meeting.

The most important board meeting He Xinyan will ever attend.

She couldn't fall asleep the entire night, and got out of bed before the sun rose to prepare for the meeting.

Her mother's will. . . all the recordings she needed as evidence. . . a text to Lawyer Qu. . . a text to Manager Fu. . .

He Xinyan left with Gu Yechen today in his car, and his presence helped to calm herself down a little. If all failed, she still had him.

They arrived earlier than most workers and Gu Yechen kissed He Xinyan for a long time before he finally let her go. This wasn't like the usual gentle and soft kisses, but instead, it was powerful and quite forceful.

He Xinyan took several shallow breaths after the kiss and she threw an angry glare at Gu Yechen.

He chuckled softly and patted her head gently, "Good luck! I will be waiting with a strawberry cream cake at home to celebrate with you."

He Xinyan's eyes immediately sparkled excitedly, "Okay, okay! It better be an 8-inch cake!"

"Of course," Gu Yechen smiled sweetly.

He Xinyan happily got out of the car and double checked that she had everything before walking into the building.

The meeting started in less than an hour, and it was supposed to last for two hours, but He Xinyan had a strong feeling that it would be longer.

He Xinyan was the first to arrive in the room, and she sat down in her chair, putting her bag full of stuff underneath the table.

She then pulled out her phone and texted Lawyer Qu.

'Mr. Qu, are you almost here?'

There was a reply right away:

'Dear Mrs. Gu, I just arrived. I will wait in the parking lot and please text me when you want me to go up.'

He Xinyan grinned, 'Okay!'

She then switched to texting Manager Fu:

'Hello, Manager Fu. You know that the board meeting is today, right?'

It took a minute for a reply to come, 'Yes, CEO He.'

'Then let me remind you what I told you last time. Remember to keep your deal! If you don't, the one to suffer won't be just you. . . It will also include your parents, wife, and kids. Don't be scared. I promise you that if you help me and not Bai Jiawei, you will be safe. If you don't. . . even Bai Jiawei can't protect you.'

In the end, she included a smiling emoji before sending it.

It took several minutes before Fu Qi replied.

'Yes, I know.'

He Xinyan smiled, 'Good.'

After she sent the message, the door entered and Bai Jiawei walked in.
