He first turned to look at Li Huiran and glared at her, "Leave! Run! Hurry up and leave!"

He handed Li Huiran her handbag and pushed her out the door, "Make sure no one sees you! Hurry up and leave!"

He Yuxin hand pressed against her chest as she helplessly fell back against the hospital bed. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Bai Jiawei turned around and glanced at Li Huiran. Suddenly, the beeping sound stopped and it was replaced with a more high-pitched continuous ring.

Bai Jiawei widened his eyes as he saw the up and down lines on the electrocardiogram machine turn into one straight line.

He gasped and slowly walked over to He Yuxin in disbelief. He slowly bent forward and gently tapped her on the shoulder.

"Yuxin? Yuxin?"

Li Huiran ran out of the hospital and looked back every few seconds to make sure there was no one following her. She turned a corner and ran straight into a little girl holding a glass jar of paper stars she had folded herself.

"Ah!" The glass crashed onto the floor with a bang and shattered into pieces.

Li Huiran didn't bother to apologize, and panically ran away.

The little girl looked at the broken glass and bent down. She had an older woman standing next to her, and the woman immediately comforted her.

Li Huiran continued running and as she did, a group of doctors and nurses walked past her.

"Hurry and go tell Doctor Li that the VIP patient Mrs. He has an emergency situation! Hurry!"

Li Huiran stopped in her tracks as she heard what the doctor said. What?! He Yuxin was dead?! She gasped before continuing to run. She had to leave!

Inside He Yuxin's hospital room, the doctors and nurses were using a defibrillator to try and get He Yuxin's heartbeat back, but it wasn't working.

They tried several times, and Bai Jiawei was standing at the edge of the bed with a worried expression.

The door burst open and the little girl in the hallway that had bumped into Li Huiran and the woman that had been with her walked in.

The doctor used the defibrillator once more before putting it down with a sigh.

Bai Jiawei reached for the doctor's hands, "Doctor, you have to save her! Please save my wife! Doctor, you can't give up! Please!"

The doctor sighed, "I'm sorry, Mr. Bai. The surgery was very successful, but the patient's condition suddenly worsened a moment ago. I'm sorry."

The little girl stepped forward and grabbed onto He Yuxin's arm, shaking it.

"Mommy, wake up! Mommy! Don't leave me, mommy! Open your eyes and look at me! Mommy!"

The woman held onto the girl and comforted her, although she was crying as well.

Bai Jiawei also grabbed onto He Yuxin's hand, "Yuxin, wake up! Wake up!"

The sound of crying filled the room, mixed with the heavy pouring of rain and lightning from outside.

Li Huiran rushed into her small house, her hair and clothes wet from the rain.

She wobbled towards the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water, gulping it down onto the entire bottle was empty.

She fell down onto the couch and used both hands to cover her ears, "He Yuxin, I hate you! You stole my man! I hate you!"

She dug her nails into her scalp and shook her head aggressively, "It wasn't me! It wasn't me!"

A little girl ran over and grabbed Li Huiran's arm, "Mommy, what happened?!"

Li Huiran looked up and stared blankly at the little girl for several seconds before pulling her in for a hug, "Yuyan!"

Li Huiran cried as she ran her fingers through Li Yuyan's hair, "Mommy knows that you suffered a lot with me. I promise! I promise that I will give you a better life! No matter what! I will do whatever it takes to give us a better life! Do you understand, Yuyan?!"

Li Yuyan nodded her head, "Yes, mommy."

Inside the meeting room of the He Corporation, He Xinyan sat with her dad, Bai Jiawei.

Across from them was another man, the lawyer that worked for the He family.

"Now I will read Miss He Yuxin and Mr. He Qin's will." The lawyer cleared his throat, "The first part of the will states: Miss He Yuxin has decided to distribute her property as written below. 10 percent of the He Corporation's shares have already been transferred to Mr. Bai Jiawei. The remaining 21 percent of shares will be distributed as follows. 5 percent will be given to Mr. Bai Jiawei, and the remaining 16 percent will be given to Miss He Xinyan."

Bai Jiawei's eyes widened when he heard this, and he immediately knit his eyebrows together.

The lawyer continued, "However, Miss He Xinyan is still underage. Therefore, the 16 percent of shares will be under Mr. Bai Jiawei until Miss He Xinyan reaches the age of 23 years old, or until Mr. Bai Jiawei is ready to retire."

The lawyer stood up and walked over to Bai Jiawei with a pen, "Please sign here."

Bai Jiawei signed the document and closed it. He glanced at He Xinyan and narrowed his eyes.

"That was how your mother died. . ." Li Huiran took a deep breath and didn't dare look at He Xinyan.

He Xinyan clenched her fists together and squeezed out a smile, "Who would have thought?!"

She still had to pretend she was surprised so Li Huiran wouldn't be suspicious.

Li Huiran gulped and looked away.

"Thank you for your honesty. I will delete the recording now."

He Xinyan pulled out her phone and stopped the current recording she was in the middle of. She then walked over to Li Huiran and deleted the recording in front of her. She then deleted it from her computer.

"Okay. I did my part of the deal too now." He Xinyan took a step forward and grabbed onto Li Huiran's collar, "I'm warning you. You don't want to tell anyone that happened here today to anyone. It is a secret between us. If you do, I can't promise I won't tell them about your secret."

Of course Li Huiran knew. She wasn't dumb enough to tell someone about it, or else they would definitely ask more! Then, she would be exposed!

She nodded her head and He Xinyan let go of her shirt collar. She stood back up and turned around. As she did, there was a knock on the door.

"Why is the door locked?!" Bai Jiawei's frustrated voice said.
