"Good night!"

Gu Yechen grinned and got out of bed to close the lights. When he returned he hugged her from behind and gently kissed her neck, making her flinch because it was a sensitive spot.

"Good night."

The days passed by quickly and He Xinyan went to filming and spent time with Gu Yechen. More than a week had passed since Li Huiran left the house, and everything was going well.

One day, He Xinyan returned home after eating dinner with Gu Yechen and she saw Bai Jiawei sitting with Li Yuyan in the living room.

When Bai Jiawei noticed her, he quickly stood up from the couch and smiled.

"Yanyan, come and sit down."

He Xinyan suspiciously walked over and took a seat. She didn't have a good feeling about this meeting from the smug look on Li Yuyan's face.

"What is it?"

Bai Jiawei cleared his throat and straightened his back a little, "I will be taking your Auntie Li back home tomorrow."

There was a moment of silence as He Xinyan processed the information. What?!

However, she remained a calm expression on her face as she gently raised one eyebrow.

"Why?"

Li Yuyan cut in this time with a triumphant smile on her face, "Because my mom has recognized her mistakes and dad decided to give her a second chance!"

He Xinyan immediately knew that it was Li Yuyan's persuasion that caused Bai Jiawei to suddenly change his mind and decide to be generous enough to bring Li Huiran home.

However, she still had to give it one more try.

"But dad, what if Auntie Li tries to wrongly accuse me again when she comes back. I don't know why, but Auntie Li seems to not like me very much and even tried to scheme against me!" He Xinyan looked down pitifully, pulling out her white lotus card!

She then muttered, "Plus, she lied to you. . ."

Bai Jiawei sighed and glanced at Li Yuyan, who pressed her lips together.

"Dad, mom recognizes her mistakes now! She told me she would never do it again! Plus, what would you tell outsiders if they figure out that my mom got kicked out! That would only be a slap to the face to you and our family!"

Bai Jiawei nodded his head slightly, "Xinyan, don't worry. Your Auntie Li knows her mistakes now, and she won't do it again. As the daughter of the He family, you should be forgiving, so forgive your Auntie Li."

He Xinyan knew that further discussion wouldn't be necessary since Bai Jiawei had already made his decision, so she nodded her head reluctantly.

"Well, I hope she has a safe trip home tomorrow. I'm going to go get ready for bed."

She stood up from the couch and walked up the stairs, entering her room and closing the door a little louder than usual.

When she entered her room, He Xinyan's expression immediately turned cold as she walked into her closet.

She dropped her bag and changed into her pajamas before walking out and sitting on her bed.

Li Huiran was coming back?

This was definitely not something He Xinyan expected. Although the plan failed to get Bai Jiawei to divorce Li Huiran, she still thought that it would at least have Li Huiran stay out of the He mansion for the time being.

Looks like she had thought wrong. . .

But how did Li Yuyan persuade Bai Jiawei to bring Li Huiran back?

--- A few hours ago

The front door opened and Bai Jiawei walked in. He was immediately greeted with Li Yuyan's smiling face.

"Welcome home, dad!"

Bai Jiawei frowned slightly and nodded his head as a sign of acknowledgment.

Li Yuyan cleared her throat and helped carry Bai Jiawei's bag as they walked into the house, "Dad, can I discuss something with you."

"If it is about your mom, then no."

Li Yuyan narrowed her eyes and said, "Dad, it won't take long! Just sit on the couch for a cup of tea and we can talk."

Bai Jiawei still kept his strong stance, "No. Don't even mention your mom."

"Dad, please. Just 5 minutes. Please. . . please. . . please!"

Bai Jiawei annoyingly sighed and glared at Li Yuyan, "Fine, but only 3 minutes."

"Thank you, dad!" Li Yuyan pulled Bai Jiawei over to the living room and they sat down. She then went to grab some tea and placed it in front of Bai Jiawei.

Then, she sat down across from him and spoke.

"Dad, will you please let mom return. She knows what she did wrong now and she really regrets it. Give her another chance!"

"No." Bai Jiawei took a sip of the tea and was about to stand up, but Li Yuyan stopped him.

"I don't care what you have to say for your mom," Bai Jiawei said.

"You said three minutes!"

Bai Jiawei frowned, "Fine."

Li Yuyan cleared her throat and began saying what Li Huiran had told her to say.

"I went to check on my mom this morning and she told me that she really recognizes her mistakes now. She just loves you too much and got scared when you said you were going to leave her! That was why she lied to you! However, she is really sorry now and she regrets her past decision! You two are married after all, so she hopes you can give her another chance."

Bai Jiawei knit his eyebrows together, "No. I am also thinking of getting divorced a while later."

Li Yuyan jumped up immediately, "Dad, you can't do that! What am I going to do if that happens! Please give mom a second chance!"

"You are going to come with me."

"But I can't leave my mom. Dad, just don't divorce!"

Bai Jiawei frowned. If Li Yuyan really left, everything would go to He Xinyan then. However, after recent events, Bai Jiawei felt that it was impossible to control He Xinyan anymore, and he didn't want the He Corporation to go into He Xinyan's hands. . .

"Besides, if you two divorce now, what will outsiders think." Li Yuyan pulled out her ace card.

"Many people knew that my mom was pregnant because you told others. Then, suddenly you two are divorced! Of course people will realize that something is up. So, dad, you two can't divorce!"

Bai Jiawei pressed his lips together. He hadn't thought of that.

"Well isn't that all because of your mom's lie! If she hadn't lied to me, do you think I would have told others?!"

Li Yuyan looked down, "Well, yes. However, my mom has recognized her mistakes already! She will never do it again! She promised! Just give her another chance! Even if it isn't for her or me, at least do it for the reputation of the He family. What will others think if you two suddenly get divorced after you just revealed my mom's pregnancy?"

Bai Jiawei sighed and stayed silent for a while. He cared about his reputation and money more than anything else. He couldn't stand others talking bad about him.

That was another reason why he hated He Xinyan's grandfather. Sure, he did come from a small family! However, he couldn't stand He Yuxin's dad talking about it all the time.

Bai Jiawei did tell several powerful people and his friends about Li Huiran's pregnancy because it was something he was very proud of. It would be a slap to his face if he divorced Li Huiran now. Of course people would realize that something was up.

Finally, Bai Jiawei sighed and stood up with a grave expression.

"Okay, I will give her one last chance. Bring her back tomorrow."

Li Yuyan jumped up from the couch and clapped her hands together, "Thank you, dad!"

At night, Gu Yechen came a little later than usual so they closed the lights and got onto the bed right away.

He Xinyan looked up at him and sighed, "Li Huiran is coming back."

Gu Yechen nodded his head, "Oh."

"You're not surprised?!" He Xinyan asked.

"Not really. I did think of that possibility a while ago. After all, she is still married to your dad. And, I'm sure your dad told several people about her pregnancy. If they suddenly got divorced, people would realize something was wrong. Wouldn't that be a slap to your dad's thick face?"

He Xinyan opened her mouth slightly, "Oh. . . So it's because he doesn't want to lose face!"

Gu Yechen nodded, "My baby is so smart!"

He Xinyan blushed slightly and buried her head deeper into Gu Yechen's chest.

"Don't think about it too much. Even though she is coming back, Bai Jiawei still wouldn't like her and trust her as much as before. There were be more opportunities in the future."

Gu Yechen patted her gently on the head and kissed her, "Go to sleep now."

He Xinyan nodded and closed her eyes.

It seemed like she would have to try harder to kick them out forever. . .

The next morning, He Xinyan didn't have filming, although she wished she did.

This was because Li Yuyan left very early in the morning to bring her mom back home before it was time for breakfast. Naturally, Li Huiran was also very excited to return.

Right as He Xinyan walked down the stairs after just waking up, she saw Li Huiran walk into the house with Li Yuyan.

He Xinyan scoffed when she saw the two of them and walked down the last few steps.

"Welcome, Auntie Li."
