Gu Yechen walked out of the kitchen carrying a plate with the sliced omelette rolls and noticed He Xinyan, "Come and eat."

He Xinyan walked over and sat down in front of the plates of warm food. Without speaking, they began eating together, and He Xinyan had to admit that Gu Yechen was really good at cooking.

It suited her stomach very well.

However, as she ate, there was this weird and uncomfortable feeling in her throat and she was very familiar with it.

He Xinyan's body and immune system were very weak, and she would get sick around three to four times a year. Every single time, the cold began with a sore throat.

She sighed and Gu Yechen noticed her unusual behavior, "What's wrong?"

He Xinyan looked up from her bowl of rice, "Nothing. . ."

She should hurry up and eat some medicine after going home to try and prevent the cold from coming, but she knew it wouldn't work.

After the meal, He Xinyan returned home and quickly found some medicine. Her throat was only getting worse and it was so uncomfortable she wanted to punch her throat, although that would definitely not help at all.

She even couldn't fall asleep to take a nap because the pain was so annoying and bothering. At 12, she dragged herself to the filming location and sat down on her seat, closing her eyes to sleep.

"Little Yanyan!" Gu Yebei tapped her on the shoulder and sat down next to her.

"What?" He Xinyan opened her eyes slightly and frowned from the bright sunlight.

"Look what I have for you." Gu Yebei lifted up one arm and shook the cup of milk tea he had in his hand.

"Ah! You're the best, Gu Yebei! Thank you!" He Xinyan stuck a straw in and gulped down the cool milk tea that soothed her throat. However, when she stopped drinking, the uncomfortable feeling was back.

"Yanyan, do you have a plan for your next drama yet?" Gu Yebei leaned forward and raised one eyebrow, "I already have my pick for my next drama after this one. It's still missing a female lead!"

He Xinyan shook her head as she closed her eyes again, "I'm not going to keep filming after this drama."

"What?! Why?!" Gu Yebei jumped up from his chair.

He Xinyan glanced at him, "I have other stuff to do."

"What stuff?"

He Xinyan took another sip of her tea and didn't respond directly, "Gu Yebei, you can be honest with me. You probably just want me to film with you again so you can be with your girlfriend, right?"

Gu Yebei blinked his eyes a few times before looking away, "Little Yanyan, you don't have to expose me!"

He Xinyan chuckled before standing up, "I got to go change now."

When she came home, it was very late already and her body was only feeling worse. Without even taking a shower, she jumped onto her bed and fell asleep.

The next morning, she didn't wake up until after the sun was fully out, and the first thing she saw was the black silk pajamas that Gu Yechen always wore.

She glanced up at his smiling face and blinked her eyes a few times.

"Good morning, baby."

"Goo -" He Xinyan gulped and her face scrunched up. Like she had guessed, the medicine didn't help at all. Her cold still came and now her throat was so sore even swallowing saliva hurt.

"What's wrong?"

"I caught a cold. . ." He Xinyan put one hand up to her throat and moaned. It was so uncomfortable and her nose was also blocked by now so she could only breathe through her mouth.

Gu Yechen knit his eyebrows together and placed one palm onto her forehead, "At least there is no fever."

"Come to my house so I can take care of you."

He Xinyan stared at his worried expression for a while before nodding. Although she could take care of herself as she had in the past, she didn't want to anymore.

Without eating breakfast, He Xinyan left the house and told Bai Jiawei that she was going to go hang out with Wu Minger.

When she walked up the front steps to the door of Gu Yechen's house, she noticed that the door was already open and he was standing right next to it.

He bent down and grabbed her white slippers from the cabinet, "It's almost autumn already, so don't wear so little. Also, wear socks or slippers when you are at home."

He Xinyan nodded her head like an obedient child before following him into the house.

"Go upstairs and get more sleep."

After Gu Yechen had tucked her into the bed and placed a glass of warm water with a straw on the nightstand, he left to go prepare some food for her.

It didn't take long for He Xinyan to fall asleep in the comfort of the bed, and the pleasant smell Gu Yechen had on his body was also inside his room.

"Yanyan. . ."

"Baby. . ."

He Xinyan blinked her eyes open, not because she heard anything, but because of the pleasant smell inside the room.

Her eyes focused on the bowl Gu Yechen was holding, and she pushed herself up from the bed, "What is that?"

She cleared her throat once, which only made it hurt more, so she drank water instead.

"Chicken soup. It will make you feel better." Gu Yechen scooped a spoonful of the soup and blew it gently before feeding it to He Xinyan, whose eyes brightened from the delicious taste.

Even though she couldn't taste very clearly because of her cold, it was still very yummy. She took the large bowl over and began eating in bigger bites.

Gu Yechen watched her with a gentle smile on his face before standing up, "I'll be back."

A minute later, he came back with another bowl, but the smell and look weren't so appetizing anymore. It was a small bowl of an unknown black liquid with a very bitter smell.

"What is that?" Xinyan scrunched her face up as she took another bite of the chicken.

"It's medicine. It's still hot, so finish the chicken soup first."

He Xinyan quickly finished the soup and unhappily stared at the bowl of disgusting medicine, "Gu Yechen, I don't want to drink medicine. . . It doesn't work, anyway."

Gu Yechen shook his head firmly and held the bowl up to He Xinyan's hands, "It will help. It is herbal medicine."

"Yechen. . ." He Xinyan sniffed her nose and pursed her lips out.

"No." Gu Yechen couldn't agree with He Xinyan on this.

Finally, she sighed and took the bowl over. With a deep breath, she gulped down the medicine in one take and her face scrunched up from disgust. It was even more bitter than it looked.

Gu Yechen took the bowl from her and quickly placed something else on her hand.

She looked at it and realized it was candy! Xinyan quickly popped it into her mouth and felt as the sweetness spread in her mouth and slowly covered up the bitterness from the medicine.

"Do you still want to sleep? Or do you want me to open up the television so you can watch it? Or are you still hungry? What do you want to eat?"

He Xinyan stared at Gu Yechen and didn't respond. Instead, she just leaned forward and rested her head onto his broad and warm chest, closing her eyes.

Gu Yechen was surprised by her sudden affection, but he moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her.

He Xinyan couldn't even remember the last time she had a cold and had someone else to take care of her.

In the past years of her life now and her past life, she would silently endure the pain of a cold by herself, and few people even knew she was sick.

She didn't tell anyone, and no one asked.

She climbed out of bed to get water herself, bought medicine herself, and did everything by herself. Most of the time, she would just go through the day normally and ignore the pain, waiting for her body and immune system to take care of it.

However, it suddenly felt like she was a child again. There was someone that cared for her when she was sick and worried about her.

She lifted her chin up and kissed Gu Yechen gently on the lips, "Thank you."

Gu Yechen opened his eyes and looked down at her. Even though she was sick, she was still beautiful. Her face and lips were a little pale, and she looked very tired, which made Gu Yechen's heart ache to see her like this.

He licked his lips and pulled away with a grin, "Baby, stop seducing me. You're sick."

He Xinyan pouted, "I'm not seducing you. Stop overthinking."

She pulled herself away and lifted the pillow up so she could sit against the back of the bed, "Come sit down." She said, patting the empty space next to her, "Let's watch TV together."

Normally, it would take up to a week for He Xinyan to recover from her cold, but it only took two days this time.

She was completely back to normal as she happily returned home from a day of filming. When she entered, she heard Li Huiran talking in the living room.

As she got closer, she noticed that it wasn't only her. Bai Jiawei and even Li Yuyan and Su Zhiming were home.
