Just as He Xinyan's hand touched the door handle, she heard Gu Yechen say in a dangerous tone, "Come back."

Almost as if her body was being controlled, He Xinyan immediately shot back into the bedroom and obediently sat down on the bed.

'He is so scary!' He Xinyan complained in her head, wondering how she even managed to get herself involved with such a big shot.

Gu Yechen wasn't pleased by He Xinyan's expression. Was he really that scary?

"I saved you," Gu Yechen repeated.

Xinyan nodded her head, signaling that she understood.

"What are you going to do in return?"

"What?" He Xinyan blurted out, not expecting the almighty king, Gu Yechen, to ask something in return from her.

Gu Yechen raised one eyebrow, making him appear even scarier, but at the same time also more attractive.

"Well. . . you have more money than you will ever need and there is nothing that I can give you that you won't be able to get by yourself. So, what do you want?" He Xinyan quickly glanced up into Gu Yechen's face and frowned. Why did he look so familiar? Where did she see him before?

"I want you."

". . ." Well, that was direct.

He Xinyan opened her mouth to speak but couldn't form the right words.

"Let's make a deal. You become my girlfriend and you can ask for anything in return."

"Anything?" He Xinyan repeated.

Gu Yechen nodded his head, "Anything."

He Xinyan thought about what could help her but realized that there wasn't much she needed right now. However, she would definitely need support in the future.

There were many things she couldn't do by herself, but Gu Yechen would definitely be able to do.

"How long would this deal last?"

Gu Yechen leaned back against the couch casually, "However long I feel like."

"And. . . that is about how long?"

"Forever."

He Xinyan was left speechless. Talking with this person was really difficult, but what could she do. He was the king, and she was only a mere peasant.

He Xinyan bit her lips and fell silent. She couldn't decide whether this was a good deal or not. Gu Yechen. . .

"I have my part of the deal," He Xinyan said, looking into Gu Yechen's eyes. "You have to help me."

Gu Yechen licked his lips with amusement, "With what?"

"Everything. My career, my life, whatever I need help with. But don't worry, everything I need help with would be easy for you."

Gu Yechen didn't respond, as that wasn't what he was expecting.

He Xinyan cleared her throat and continued, "Think about it. I am giving away my wonderful years of being young and beautiful for this deal. So, what I'm asking for isn't too much, right?"

Gu Yechen nodded his head. It was too little.

"But why me?" He Xinyan was very curious about this. Did this man fall in love with her at first sight or something?

Gu Yechen looked away and responded after a few seconds, "Well. . . there has been recent news about me being gay since I haven't been in a relationship ever. This has a huge impact on my work and overall image, so I need to clear it up. Dating someone would be the easiest way to do so."

For the first time, Gu Yechen felt kind of guilty for lying. In the past, he would be able to lie without even blinking an eye, but now, he couldn't even look He Xinyan in the eye.

It would be weird for him to say, 'I fell in love with you at first sight, so I want you.'

That would only make him seem like a pervert, and he couldn't have the love of his life think of him like that.

For the first time in all 26 years of his life, he wanted someone. He wanted something so bad, and he loved something so much.

It was a weird feeling, maybe because he had never felt it before. The woman in front of him was so perfect in his eyes, and he wanted to protect her and love her.

However, he couldn't tell her that just yet. It would scare her, and maybe push her away from him.

He Xinyan nodded her head, "You made the right decision to choose me."

"How so?"
