Does the latter care about the war on the other side? No, because it was not their business.

They would feel pity, anger, and all sort of feelings, but in the end, all those feeling will wash away in no time since it was far from their life and not their business. She has to repeat it because it is saddening to see how society did nothing and just watch from the sideline.
