My Battleship Can Receive Infinite Upgrades Chapter 2

Lin Dong gathered his thoughts and activated his personal support system. A series of specific data appeared in front of his eyes.
Self-activation function: Scan
Self-activation function: Remote battleship control (Cannot be used)
Optional function 1: Alternate space signal acquisition (Cannot be used)
Optional function 2: Double source points acquisition (Cannot be used)
Optional function 3: Module characteristics selection (Cannot be used)
Optional function 4: Double module growth value (Cannot be used)
Upgrade function 1: Level restriction removal (Cannot be used)
Upgrade function 2: Fixed point invasion (Cannot be used)
...
The personal support system had many functions, but the only 1 that could be used normally was 'Scan'. It was a mining spaceship, and it did not belong to a battleship, so the remote battleship control could not be used.
Only when he inherited Lorne's Spark battleship could the remote battleship control function be used normally.
Those optional functions were specifically targeted at battleships and had little to do with normal spaceships.
If he did not inherit Lorne's Spark battleship, Lin Dong would need to spend at least 50 years to obtain a battleship. He would also need compete with a lot of people for a few spots to obtain the battleship.
The battleship had a lot of great functions. It was something that normal people could not get their hands on.
Lin Dong's personal support system was no different from before. However, he clearly understood that the 1-time hidden function that allowed him to live a new life was gone.
Fortunately, he would not make those foolish mistakes again.
The 10 years of escaping had taught Lin Dong a lesson. The Goddess of Luck would help him and would not help him. He still had to rely on himself. In the interstellar era, he needed to depend on himself to survive.
He had the strength to win against all his enemies. Who would dare to chase after him and make him unlucky?
Lin Dong turned off his personal support system. He activated the engine to its maximum power and flew toward the mining area.
"Lorne, I'm here."
According to his current speed, it would take 10 hours to reach the mining area from Planet A399. The route along the way was regularly maintained by the 3 mining companies. There was no need for manual piloting.

After clicking on the autopilot, the optical computer could completely control the spaceship.
After setting the 3rd entrance of the mining area as his destination, Lin Dong left the operating table, found a pen and paper, and began to recall the events he had encountered during his 10 years of escape, as well as the various information he had gathered.
Regardless of the size of the events, he wrote them down on a piece of paper, and recorded them separately.
During these 10 years, he could not remember many of the small events, but he could clearly remember all the big events that had happened.
The purpose of doing this was to strengthen his memories. This was to prevent any carelessness that might result in missing out on an opportunity or being schemed by others.
Moreover, if there was enough information, Lin Dong could anticipate the enemy's movements and launch an attack on them.
He memorized and wrote down all the events at the same time. It took him a total of 4 hours before he was roughly done.
Lin Dong was tired as he lay on the chair.
"Without the meditation technique to strengthen my body and mind, I can't even think properly. I feel like I have forgotten something."
"However, it's not bad to be able to remember so much. I'll slowly recall it in the future."
Lin Dong rubbed his head and allowed himself to relax. He did not want to think about the meditation technique.
As something that was controlled by the nobles, it was completely impossible to cultivate the meditation technique on this mining planet.
The Spark battleship and the meditation technique were 2 things that were controlled by the privileged class. If a commoner possessed these 2 things, he could easily trade with any noble and transform his identity into that of a noble. He would have many privileges, but the prerequisite was that he must not have any enmity with the noble.
Of course, if one was powerful enough, one could also receive the treatment of a noble. However, one's reputation would not be recognized.

Other than the battleship and the meditation technique, the other high-end resources were also monopolized by the privileged class . Those precious resources could stabilize their position as nobles.
However, Lin Dong was not worried at all. In another 3 days, when he inherited Lorne's Spark battleship, in addition to his 10 years of experience piloting the battleship and the help of the personal support system, none of these would be a problem for him.
10 hours quickly passed.
Lin Dong read through the events he had recorded. After ensuring that he would not forget them in the next few years, he burned all the notes.
If the notes were leaked out, it would be troublesome to Lin Dong.
The optical computer rang out in the cabin.
"We have arrived at the 3rd entrance of the mining area. The autopilot mode is about to end. Please switch to manual mode."
Lin Dong looked out. There were already some mining spaceships that had docked. Thus, he immediately sat back in the commander's seat, pulled up the joystick, and switched to manual mode.
The airspace around the asteroid belt was complicated. It was not fixed in place. Instead, it was constantly in motion, just like how planets revolved around a star.
With the optical computer operating automatically, there was no guarantee that the ship would capsize.
For the sake of his own safety, it was safer to operate manually.
The 3rd entrance was not really an entrance. Instead, it was a fixed lighthouse set up by the mining company. Together with the map of the interior of the mining area, as long as miners did not run around randomly and move at the correct path, there was no danger of getting lost.
If the spaceship malfunctioned in the mining area, they could also request for help and provide backup.
Lin Dong controlled the spaceship and slowly docked according to the information transmitted from the lighthouse.
"How's the situation? How long will the safety period be?"
After connecting to the communication network, Lin Dong directly asked the lighthouse observer.
"The flow rate is normal. The next safety period will probably be within an hour. If you have nice things this time, do not sell them to the others. If you give them to me, I'll treat you to a drink next time."
A rough voice sounded out. At the same time, on the communication network, the head of a man started to flicker.
Lin Dong smiled faintly as he responded, "Alright. Alright. If there is any, I'll definitely contact you first."
Cade seemed to be in a good mood as he smiled and reminded Lin Dong. "Alright, that's all for now. Let me give you a reminder. A few miners are planning to follow your flight path. Don't let them snatch your mineral resources."
Snatch?
Lin Dong frowned slightly. Thanks to his previous record, he quickly recalled it.
In Lin Dong's previous life, he had a personal support system. Although he could only use 1 function, he was able to select the best mining spaceship every time. At the same time, he could obtain the real-time data of the spaceship. If necessary, he could allow the spaceship to operate to its limit.
With that, the spaceship could go deep into the mining area and pick up more valuable minerals and ores.
This naturally caused the other miners to be envious.
They followed Lin Dong's route and snatched the minerals away before he did. With him leading the way, as long as the other miners flew their spaceships properly, they would basically be able to pass through safely.
Back then, Lin Dong could not do anything to them. All of his minerals and ores got snatched by them.
After inheriting Lorne's Spark battleship, he could not help but take revenge on a few of them. At that time, he did not manage it nicely. Hence, it was also a hidden danger that was later discovered.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.

Displacement
or, Deux Navires Passant dans la Nuit If you wake up in a new world, with only your memories of home to guide you, you have to trust the first people you meet. The first people Leah meets seem to know her - but not her. Leah is thrust into a fighter's role that does not quite suit her, and those who 'rescued' her do their best to help her fit in. They hint at a world that Leah can only vaguely understand without serious research and exploration, but how to do that research, when everyone believes her to be a local of this place, and too many questions might draw unwanted attention? And what about home? The more Leah learns about this world, the less she believes that she woke up on the right side of the bed - or more accurately, on the right side of the conflict. With magic being strictly regulated in her current "home," maybe it's time to uproot and look for a new set of allies... -- Displacement is a queer / lgbt bodyswap isekai: Leah Armande falls out of a Quebecois city into an unfamiliar fantasy world, and Leah Talesh falls out of her adventuring party's homeland and into an unfamiliar industrial world. The story follows both women as they navigate their new surroundings, trying at times to find a way home, at times just to pass for a local, and at times to actually make a life for themselves in their new world. Expect in-depth politics and worldbuilding, sapphic moments, foibles, and far too much time spent either in libraries or convalescing (or sometimes both).
