Inverse System Chapter 138

"Yeah, let me just notify everyone. I don't think we can take it alone," Reggie took out his Ranger tablet and notified everyone of their position, Rein scoffing at him.
"We'll be fine," he remarked as he suddenly closed his fist at the rocks in front of him, crushing them into dust as the gaping mouth of a cave appeared before them.
"Wait, I'm eager to kill this thing too, but Sho, Clyde, and me combined couldn't even beat it," Reggie warned, Rein ignoring his alert and entering the deep cavern.
Reggie reluctantly followed the fearless Rein, who carelessly whistled nonchalantly as they walked through the dark cave, lit only by the spark of fire Rein held on his hand, his whistles echoing through the cave in a reverberating symphony.
"H-hey, maybe you shouldn't be whistling carelessly…" Reggie suggested.
"Hm?" Rein turned his eyes to him while still whistling, having not heard what he said.
"N-nevermind…"
As they ventured deeper into the cave, they suddenly turned the corner, seeing an intimidating, blue-scaled, sleeping dragon, with a long, shiny horn protruding from its head, and a large, dark blue goblin sharpening his enormous scimitar as he sat along the dragon's side.
"That's him… That's the motherfucker who stole Marsa…" Reggie clenched his fist in anger as he whispered to Rein, peeking out from the corner.
His eyes continued darting around the large chamber in the cavern, perceptively analyzing the room, noticing that the girl, Marsa, was nowhere to be seen.
"See? The girl isn't here. The goblin lord must've been wandering around the continent, searching for her. When he landed in Aj'ess, the dragon was most likely exhausted, so he took him here to rest," Rein theorized in a loud voice as he walked around the corner and towards the enemies, alerting the goblin lord as he stood up angrily.

"Who goes there!" In goblin tongue, the deep, grumbling voice of the goblin lord bounced off the walls of the cave, Rein unphased by his intimidating display.
"Right here. I've got a few questions for you tubby," Rein pointed to the overweight goblin lord, talking to him in goblin language, which he'd known since he was a kid.
Reggie couldn't understand what the 2 were saying, he idly stood there, watching Rein confront the goblin.
"Hm?! A human who speaks goblin? What do you want?!" The goblin lord angrily yelled.
"Stop yelling, nobody wants to see your ugly ass mouth," Rein insulted, which angered the goblin lord, but Rein gave him no chance to retort. "I need you to tell me what you did with the girl you kidnapped," Rein asked, the goblin lord raising an eyebrow, then his anger bursting out at Rein.
"How do you know about that!?"
"Just tell me. You're gonna die soon anyways," Rein stated impatiently, making the goblin lord laugh hardily.
"You tiny human! You must be crazy to think that. Everyone I've faced has been squashed beneath my feet. What makes you think you will be any different?" The goblin lorded remarked as he put his weapon over his shoulder and tapped on the dragon's snout, waking it up into a raging roar.
The dragon shook the very foundation of the cave, causing ruptures throughout to bring spikes of earth down from the ceiling, the rocks on the ground levitating in vibration. Rein's hair blew in the dragon's bellow, squinting his eyes as he felt the dragon's saliva come on his face.
"You ever heard of a toothbrush you overgrown lizard?" Rain said as he closed his nose, once again unphased by the intimidating dragon. "Anyways, I'm gonna kill you now. It's good to know that the girl is safe," Rein rolled his shoulders and stretched his legs.

"Big words from such a small human," the goblin laughed.
"Did you find anything out about Marsa?" Reggie asked the prepping Rein.
"Huh? Oh yeah, she's fine. Looks like the goblin lord lost her somewhere along the way when they were flying and has been looking for her ever since. Dunno what she did to him to make him so mad, but hey, at least she's safe," Rein assured as he suddenly sensed the goblin lord charge him with his scimitar, Rein summoning his swords and blocking his swing with one hand.
"Go out to the entrance and lead the others in here when they arrive. I'll take care of this guy," Rein ordered Reggie while defending against the goblin lord's attack.
"Are you sure? Can you hold out for that long?" Reggie made sure.
"You don't have to worry about me. Just go," Rein threw the goblin lord off of him as Reggie nodded, running back to the entrance of the cavern on Rein's orders.
"Are you an idiot, human? You've just sent away your only ally. You're dead meat!" The goblin lord happily exclaimed.
Rein's smile faded away as he activated STO, a black shade encroaching over his white hair, his yellow eyes shining red as he gripped both his swords.
"Guess I'll take out the dragon first then," he said, teleporting in front of the angered lizard.
The dragon let out a furious breath of fire, Rein walking through it, unaffected. He motioned one of his swords forward and pointed it through the fire, directly into the dragon's mouth. A ball of water began forming at the tip of the sword, steam beginning to rise in the fiery inferno. Rein pumped the water blast through the dragon's breath.
This immediately extinguished the dragon's breath, making it go into an outcry of pain. Suddenly, he felt the presence of the goblin lord peering over him, turning around instinctively to effortlessly block his attack, the ground under Rein breaking from the impact, the goblin lord's eyes widening in surprise.
"What?! How did you—!" The goblin lord's attack was knocked away, giving the dragon time to recover as it also swung at Rein.
Without turning around, Rein jumped forward towards the goblin lord he sent flying away, leaving the essence of his earth Spring where he took off, dozens of spikes of earth suddenly protruding from the ground, stabbing into the neck and body of the dragon as Rein dashed towards the goblin lord...
