My Four Other Selves Chapter 18

They were quite high in the sky, Zhang Yong wasn't able to see what they were but seeing their big wings he was sure of one thing and that was they were some kind of birds.
Zhang Yong wasn't sure if those birds saw him or not. But one thing he was sure of was that they were up to no good.
"We….. We should go away from here and hide somewhere."
He quickly went over to Fuzzy and stood beside him again looking at those birds. One of the birds came down a little but Zhang Yong was able to see him.
"Wait. Why does this bird look like a..... vulture?"
He narrowed his eyes more to see them. He realized that other than the size of those birds every feature of them was the same as those of Vultures.
A heavy body, a hunched-over stance, and their feathers also appeared to be shaggy and looser than other birds. They were generally dull brown and black.
Two of them were having paler underparts, or heads and some had throats that were a bright red or deep blue. Zhang Yong was able to see each of them now as they started to come down little by little but with this tactic, he got worried and started to shake Fuzzy abruptly.
Fuzzy wasn't sleeping. He just had his eyes closed and just as Zhang Yong shook him he opened them but looked at Zhang Yong with annoyance. His expressions were like he wanted to ask Zhang Yong why he dated to disturb his rest but then he looked at the pale face and immediately realized something was wrong.
He stood up from the ground and started to look here and there for any kind of danger. Just then Zhang Yong said, "Vul.... Some vultures….. Some vultures are here. Let's run away from here."

Hearing this it looked like Fuzzy immediately understood about the situation they were in.
Zhang Yong was just about to run away from there and was expecting Fuzzy to follow him. But as soon as he went away from there he realized that Fuzzy wasn't following him, instead, he had bent down on the ground there.
Zhang Yong panicked more at this and ran back to Fuzzy.
"What the heck are you doing? Let's go." Zhang Yong furiously said to Fuzzy but he still stayed there in his position.
Zhang Yong was getting angry at him for doing this and wanted to scold him but then the situation wouldn't allow him to do so.
"Okay, then you can stay here. You know what, I don't care about you. I will just run away from here."
He turned around and was just about to run away from there again when he saw a vulture coming down and soon...…
Zhang Yong was just smiling thinking that Fuzzy was trying to protect him all the time and he was the one making things more difficult for him. He was just in his thoughts when he saw Fuzzy opening his eyes, he looked at Zhang Yong for a second before again hurriedly closing his eyes and pretending to be in his sleep.
This caused the smile of Zhang Yong to grow wider.
"Hey! Are you still worried for me?" Zhang Yong very well knew that Fuzzy wouldn't reply to him, still he tried to talk with him. Fuzzy did get what Zhang Yong was saying but he gave him a boring look which probably meant 'I don't care what you say.'
Zhang Yong waited for some time and looked at Fuzzy with hope filled his eyes while Fuzzy on the other hand continued staring at him before he bent his head due and put it on his hands. He blinked his eyes some times now before finally closing them and resting now.

Zhang Yong was angry at Fuzzy's behavior, he very well knew that Fuzzy's reply would be some thing like this but still he was furious and stomped his foot on the floor like a child whose candy was just stolen.
"Like seriously, whenever I try to talk with him he just doesn't give any reaction. Does he even get what I am saying or not?"
With a sigh he put his hand under his chin and rubbed his chin.
"I don't know but Fuzzy gives off the vibes like he is actually getting my words but then no reaction from him is making me think about it again."
Zhang Yong kept on standing there and staring at Fuzzy for some time trying to get the answer of his question but when he wasn't able to get it, he decided to just let it go for the time being and explore that cave.
Dust swirled around the cave as Fuzzy reposted with a growl and made himself comfortable. The only sound to be heard was the constant and monotonous dripping of the wet patch on the floor near the mouth of the cave.
Zhang Yong again turned around and started to look around the cave. He narrowed his eyes when he wasn't able to see his surroundings properly. With slow steps he started to move around.
He went towards his left which led him a little further inside the cave. He was hoping to find some thing interesting in that cave but all he could see was useless rocks laying there.
"Huh? I thought there would be some thing interesting here. In the movies it would always be like that."
"Guess those are just movies. I should stop relating myself with those movies."
Zhang Yong rolled his eyes. He was just about to turn away, complaining again when suddenly he heard some shuffling from the corner.
"What's? What's that?"
His eyes were wide as well as his ears were also up. This was a habit of Zhang Yong, his ear would usually stand up when he would be surprised and scared and the same thing was happening now.
He again heard a shuffling sound in the corner.
" Who?.....

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
