Alright, even Lin Feng couldn't be blamed for this, he did have a part to play.
"Sorry, I'll bring it to you tomorrow morning."
Seeing Lin Feng's calm reaction, Lin Xue lost interest.
"Never mind. I'll go get it myself in the morning."
Looking at Lin Feng's familiar yet unfamiliar face, Lin Xue could clearly feel the gulf between them.
Her brother was right in front of her, yet she simply could not reach him.
Thinking back to what she had heard about her brother at school today, Lin Xue, as the younger sister, found it incredulous.
When did my brother become so powerful?
"When did you become so strong?"
"Guess."
With that, Lin Feng turned and walked towards his room.
"If you don't want to say it, then don't. Why pretend to be all mysterious!"
Lin Xue pouted and walked towards her room unhappily.
The first thing Lin Feng did when he returned to his room was to get his old textbooks out.
"I remember seeing them while I was tidying up."
Due to his predecessor's severe negligence of other subjects, he knew nothing other than makeup and dressing up.
Hence, when Lin Feng found these books, they looked brand new.
The only difference was that there was a lot of dust on them.
"Are all the boys in this world idiots?"
With this thought in mind, Lin Feng flipped through the books again and started studying.
Since they were going to have dinner soon, he might as well take this time to do some studying.
Lin Feng decided to leave his cultivation for the night in the future.
When it was late at night and you're all alone, you'll feel that time flies when you focus on doing something.
Before long, Lin Feng heard Lin Dong calling himself and Lin Xue.

"Is it time for dinner?"
Lin Feng closed his textbook and ended his brief period of study.
"Then let's call it a day. It's really interesting, the knowledge of this world."
After Lin Feng left, the light outside the window landed on the book, shining upon the title.
If anyone noticed it, they would realize that this was the most basic textbook that only those who had just started school would read.
A high school student reading such an entry-level textbook so seriously will make people laugh their head off.
But if they learned that Lin Feng took less than an hour to go study backwards from high school to primary school, how would they react?
Since Lin Feng was reading primary school textbooks, it meant that he had already grasped all the contents from high school to primary school in this world.
And he took less than an hour.
Lin Feng was the only one who could do so at such astonishing speed.
At the dining table, Lin Xue was the last to sit down.
"Xue'er, why are you so slow? The food is getting cold."
"I slept for a while."
Lin Xue rubbed her eyes and pulled out a chair.
Then, she looked at Lin Ru in surprise.
"Mom, why are you back so early today?"
As Lin Ru picked up food for Lin Dong and the couple flaunted their love, she replied her daughter,
"I've already finished my work today. I can handle the rest tomorrow."
After being affectionate with Lin Dong, Lin Ru looked at Lin Xue.
"What's wrong? You don't like me around?"
"No. It feels like it's been a long time since the family got together like this."
The atmosphere gradually grew cozy with this comment from Lin Xue.

But soon, all of this was mercilessly spoiled by Lin Dong.
"You have the nerve to say that. Where were you when your mother was here yesterday?"
"Hehe." Lin Xue was inwardly vexed. She had thought that she would be able to successfully muddle through it just like that. This d*mn old dad, all he does is go against me.
"You have the cheek to laugh."
Lin Dong looked at Lin Xue unhappily.
"Seriously. Look at Xiao Feng. He's never made us worry."
With that said, Lin Dong turned to look at Lin Ru. His tone turned gentle and his voice also became softer.
"Honey, do you know what I saw when I went upstairs just now?"
"What?" Lin Ru looked curiously at Lin Dong before looking at Lin Feng who was eating quietly.
Lin Feng paused in his eating. He didn't expect the topic to be brought onto him again.
"I saw Xiao Feng studying. Look at you. Xiao Feng is starting to work hard. What about you?"
Lin Dong recounted everything he had seen.
Hearing Lin Dong's words, both Lin Xue and Lin Ru looked at Lin Feng in surprise.
This was a huge matter, Lin Feng was actually studying.
If the person who spoke was not Lin Dong, the mother and daughter would never believe it.
"Xiao Feng, are you alright?"
Lin Xue's words made Lin Feng speechless. Do you really want something to happen to me?
Lin Dong reprimanded her mercilessly.
"Just shut up. Be careful not to be overtaken by Xiao Feng when it comes to results in the future."

Our story begins 20 odd years after the events of the animes, manga, and games. Now don't worry, we'll explore all the regions. However, not everything translates so cleanly into a more realistic setting, while other things just get better. No convenient inventory systems. That Pidgy ain't flying anyone anywhere, and your Bagon can't call meteors from the sky. The realities of the food chain trumps any children's media restrictions. Nearly all the mythics and legendries, can't feasibly be one of a kind. Shinys come in all varieties. Research has advanced in some areas, for good or ill. All the evil organizations that were yesterdays news have splintered apart, remnants lurk in shadow. Your favorite characters have all grown older, some have had children, others may have even died. Towns prosper or fall, new gyms start up while others might close down. New Champions have been crowned, new Leagues have formed! The Next Generation is starting their journey. Now, Dimensional portal shenanigans are nothing new to the pokemon world, But... Kurt, is. Sure, some folks might raise a brow at a 30ish year old man that should probably be in an action movie rather than the Hoenn Rookie League, but Kurt's ready for adventure. He might also wish he played more than the first two games... or remembered anything about himself.

Some people are lucky, some aren't, some - have terrible luck. Our "hero" is of the latter kind. During young age he got into an accident, which allowed him to learn the fact that he belongs to a rare group of people.. People diagnosed with lung cancer, which he, however survived. Can't say he's lucky, as his life went downhill from that point... Our story happens years later, when his fate decides to make a loop and throw him in the same kind of accident. He gets hit by a truck. Surviving the crash, suffering just a few scratches, he is ultimately "lucky" to find himself out of the hospital in no time.. however every bit of good luck always brings him terrible luck afterwards. This time pushing him maybe a bit too far.. How far? Making him vanish without a trace and find himself in the middle of an unknown forrest. Doesn't sound bad? He can consider himself lucky? Just wait and see...It can always get worse.. always.. .... Congratulations, you've made it through the intro and into the author note! If you by any chance missed the tags and didn't read the warning, please do that now. I really recommend you to. Before you jump to reading, and unintentionally scar yourself, do mind that the story is about a dark, unforgiving world, a world in which you have more opportunities to die a horrible death, than take a piss. Hero doesn't have great luck, he has dumb persistance, he doesn't go through any trial with a breeze, he pays the price of blood, flesh and tears to live..and will be paying for every mistake.. No one outright explains anything to him, just as us for the most part - he is not sure what the hell is going on.. Some real survival tactics are used as a base of the descriptions, they are as important to the world and character as any other element.. Mind that the story starts really slow, but as the stone starts rolling downhill - the pace gets faster.. Every tag for this novel has a reason to be there, so if you don't see the particular element there, don't panic.. it's either well camoufalged, subtle or simply not encountered as of yet. Big thanks to Hobbo, Enyhrye and Hveth! ...not only pointing that the description could be better, but providing invaluable input.. and being patient enough to give fleshed out advice.

Extra tag: Anime Yes, this is an anime-styled fiction, and it isn't meant to represent real life scenarios in grave detail. But if you feel that that isn't your cup of tea or you can't appreciate it, you can drop the read anytime you'd like.
8 72The Orb Weaver Chronicles
"The Orb Weaver Chronicles contains several major and unique events that may or may not unknowingly intertwines with one another. The author of these chronicles is unknown, although some have hinted at the symbolism behind its name..." - Year unknown, location unknown 9 February 2022 Update: Welcome to the companion short story compilation of my novel trilogy The Shadow Paradigm. This compilation features prequels, sidequels and sequels to the novel's major plotline, as well as featuring a wide range of characters, new and recurring. Prior knowledge of the novel is not necessary as the Orb Weaver Chronicles' short stories are standalone. Once called The Arkesyyan Chronicles, I've deleted quite a few of its old stories. Due to the new avenue and revision, oriented toward more mystery and film-noir ambience, that I took my stories into, I've removed all aliens and overly sci-fi aspects of the whole TSP lineup, so I've updated the Orb Weaver Chronicles accordingly. I hope you enjoy them, and in time, a revised version will also be updated.
