She couldn't believe what she just heard – Wu Lina was pregnant? No wonder her father and Yang Xinyu were so protective about her. The bitch had stolen all the limelight and perhaps that is why she was being treated so unfairly. Even Yang Chenlin was gifted a company in Spain along with her husband, so why couldn't her father do the same for her? Why was she always struggling to achieve her success? No one supported her except her mother, but now even her mother had given up. Was this the price of failure?

As she walked to the middle of the room near the center stage, her thoughts kept invading her rationale. All she wanted at that time was revenge. Her mind was not working properly and her tears were not stopping. While she was walking, one of the guests saw her and said, "Yang Fangxu, you look like hell!"

She didn't pay attention to her remark and kept walking forward, slowly. She wiped her face with her sleeves. There were a lot of guests who were present around the stage and she had to make her through them.

Yang Fangxu was in a trance. She reached in front of the stage and stared at Wu Lina. Her eyes traveled from Wu Lina to Yang Xinyu and then her father who had just finished his speech. They all came down the stage amongst all that applause, one after the other and Wu Lina was last to get down. Yang Xinyu had offered his hand to her to step down. As they walked back amongst the guests, Yang Fangxu walked to Wu Lina and pushed her so hard that Wu Lina lost her balance and fell on the floor. On a reflex, she brought her hands to support her body.

The entire incident happened so suddenly that Yang Xinyu was petrified. He didn't have the to even hold his wife back or prevent Yang Fangxu from doing it.

The mayor was in a shock. His mind went blank.

The guests around Wu Lina were quickly dispersed as Yang Xinyu and Yan Xiaojun helped her stand up, but she wobbled, as her hands went to her stomach instinctively.

Without wasting another second, Yang Xinyu picked Wu Lina and carried her to his car. She had circled her arms around his neck as her mind went numb as to what just happened. Yang Xinyu had broken out in cold sweat. All he could think of right now was how were his babies. Once they were in the car, Yang Xinyu ordered the driver to take them to the hospital and called Wu Lina's doctor on emergency basis.

Wu Lina was immediately taken to the ultrasound room. Yang Xinyu didn't go inside as he paced outside the room. He was extremely anxious. How are his babies – that was the only thought that raced through his mind.

The doctor finished her ultrasound and called him inside. She said, "Don't worry, the babies are fine. They are just as active as can be. Wu Lina had taken the maximum weight on her hands and so the jerk was less. But her hand has got sprained badly. I have to determine the extent of injury. There is a lot of swelling and it is possible that we have to keep her hand bandaged for sometime…"

Yang Xinyu breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that the babies were fine. But as soon as he heard that Wu Lina was injured, all he could think of was to kill Yang Fangxu. He rushed inside to check on his wife, who was holding her hand, as her face was contorted in pain and tears were running down.

The pain, the shock and the fact that someone could be as sinister as Yang Fangxu had made the hormones run wildly in her body. When Yang Xinyu came inside, she looked at him and said, "I want a divorce! I don't think I can tackle with any of your family people now," and she started sobbing loudly. "I want my babies to survive Yang Xinyu. I am fed up of people trying to harm us. If we will stay away from each other, perhaps hatred around us will subdue. Let's just separate…"

Yang Xinyu went to her and held her close to his chest. "Don't say that Lina… you know I cannot stay without you… let me look at your hand…" saying that he picked her hand.

She winced loudly in pain and swatted his hand away. "Don't touch me Yang Xinyu! Ever since I have come in contact with you, I have had heartaches only. My life has been filled with miseries. The price I have paid to fall in love with you is too heavy for my wellbeing. So Yang Xinyu, please leave me. I will take these babies and raise them all by myself. "Shush… don't speak Wu Lina… Don't worry… everything will be fine…" he kept reassuring her.

Wu Lina's hand was given cold compress and then wrapped in a bandage. It had swollen considerably. The doctor couldn't even give her a painkiller because she was pregnant. Wu Lina had to endure all that pain. She cried and shrieked in pain for a long time.

Yang Xinyu took her home and made her lie down on the bed. The doctor had said that the swelling would increase and then subside slowly. It may take at least two weeks before it completely subsides. That night Wu Lina could not sleep properly. Yang Xinyu held her hand the entire night so that she wouldn't injure it further.

She slept very late in the night.

Meanwhile, after the incident, the security guards had caught Yang Fangxu and detained her inside a room. The guests were so shocked by the entire incident that they started gossiping about the Yang family's friction. The mayor was extra careful. Just so that no one spread the entire thing, he asked his office people to activate the jammers for the phone. And when the guests started leaving, they had to show their phones whether they had clicked the photos or the incident or not.
