The mayor went after Wu Lina as she went outside to mingle with people in the party. People had started missing the presence of their host and it only seemed appropriate to go and join them.

As they left the room Yang Fangxu was left with her mother. Her mother shouted at her, "See what a mess you have created just because you wanted to be an actress. I was a fool to even think that you could gain stardom. In my opinion, you should ask your father for forgiveness and tell him to at least take care of your debts."

Yang Fangxu was crying hysterically, her black mascara had come out of it place and it smeared her cheeks. Her career seemed to end. She knew that she had little chances of recovering it now, more so because she was already getting old. She thought that Wu Lina had done the right thing by not stepping in the industry, and stayed on the outside to create her own company.

"Mother, I don't know what to do…"

Meanwhile, outside in the party, the mayor reached Wu Lina and asked her, "Why are you refusing to sign up Yang Fangxu?"

Wu Lina looked at him, became silent for a moment and answered him very carefully. "Father, Yang Fangxu and her mother have both sold the shares of the company that belonged to her without your consent. She is extremely ambitious but doesn't realize her potential. She is not cut for starring in the movies, because if that were the case she would have already achieved some recognition by now. As I see it, she has it in the back of her mind that you will always support her, no matter what. And that is why she is venturing out in projects that do not suit her.

"She has to understand ground reality. I think she should retire from the film industry, start another business if she wants to and perhaps you should find a suitable boy for her. Sorry father, but the fact that she had sold her shares to someone we don't even know is scary. It only shows that she is untrustworthy. I will not be able to take any risk with her. I mean how much will I be able to monitor her activities."

Yang Min-Chang listened to her patiently and said, "In that case just make her sign the contract and don't give her any movie to work on."

"Father, once she will enter the company, she will act up a lot just because she is my sister-in-law. Over the time I have come to know her, entering the company would be just an excuse to do her dirty work. I don't trust her… really… I have worked very hard throughout these months despite my pregnancy. I am not willing to sacrifice it all just because of Yang Fangxu. Why will I invite trouble knowingly?"

The mayor could see the valid point in her talk. He remained silent and looked at Yang Xinyu who was standing nearby and listening to them. Yang Xinyu didn't say anything, as he sipped his whisky.

The mayor walked away. He called his people and ordered them to do something important.

Wu Lina felt guilty for refusing her father-in-law, but she knew that she did the right thing. It was important that this thing ended here so that it didn't progress into something terrible in future. She looked at Yang Xinyu and said, "Xini, I have done the right thing. You know that –right?"

Yang Xinyu nodded and held her hand in approval.

The mayor walked to the center stage, picked the mic and said, "Good evening everyone!"

Surprised, everyone looked at him.

"I am so happy to see all of you here. I just wanted to make a small announcement."

Everybody listened to him with rapt attention.

"As you all know that my daughter-in-law had been very successful with her first movie, we would like to thank you for all your best wishes. But there is one more thing you all don't know – Yang Xinyu and Wu Lina are expecting babies. I will become a grandpa soon!"

Wu Lina looked at Yang Xinyu with surprise. "Why has father announced it? What about the security stuff that you had told me about?"

Yang Xinyu chuckled and said, "He told me that it was the right time to announce. I couldn't deny his happiness."

The mayor called Wu Lina and Yang Xinyu on the stage. They walked up to there amongst all the applause from the guests. Wu Lina was blushing as Yang Xinyu circled her shoulders and guided her to the stage. He was looking up at everyone and thanking them while she had lowered her head as she walked. It was a moment to remember.

"We will be making this announcement official in a few days, but we wanted to share our joy with all of you now," said the mayor.

The couple came on the stage and accepted everyone's blessings.

Yang Fangxu had come out of the room just in time to hear the announcement.
