All the servants and other staff, who watched the father and son drama, were trying their best not to look in their direction. But whenever they looked, they couldn't help smiling. Behind those heavy titles of the mayor and the chairman, they were nothing but two very normal individuals – a parent and a child.

Soon after, guests started arriving in throngs and the hall was buzzing with activity. Everyone had come and congratulated Wu Lina for her success. It was clearly written in the invitation card that no gifts would be accepted, hence most of them came with flowers. Soon there was a huge pile of flowers next to Wu Lina on a table beside her.

Every member of the Yang family had arrived, but the mayor was looking for someone who had not as yet arrived. When Wu Lina looked at him, he was gazing every now and then at the main entrance. She went near him and asked, "Father, are you waiting for someone. Do you want me to call them?"

The mayor shook his head and said, "No, child. It's okay if that person doesn't come…"

But Wu Lina wasn't convinced. She looked around and saw that every family member had arrived except Yang Fangxu and her mother. Was the mayor looking for them?

Rosa and Ivan came along with Yan Xiaojun and as soon as they entered with Ivan in Yan Xiaojun's lap, many women surrounded them. They all took a picture with Ivan. Even though Ivan had got used to this kind of attention, he started crying seeing so many people suddenly flocking towards him and hid his face in Yan Xiaojun's neck. Yan Xiaojun immediately ran out from there and took him in the garden outside to calm him.

The guests were slightly disappointed but they soon dispersed and were mingling with each other.

Yang Xinyu was talking to some political leader when his gaze traveled to the entrance of the hall and he found himself looking at an unexpected visitor, Yang Fangxu along with her mother. He had and an urge to go and ask her to leave immediately. Excusing himself politely, he started walking towards her.

Yang Fangxu had entered the hall along with her mother and looked anxious. She wanted to talk to her father about helping her out and then she planned to leave quickly. Wearing a pale blue silk gown, she looked very ordinary. She was holding a purse in one hand and her dress in the other. But as soon as she had entered, she saw that Yang Xinyu was walking towards her.

She was nervous when she saw Yang Xinyu and in her nervousness she clutched her purse tightly and fidgeted with her gown with her other hand so much that it crumpled. Yang Xinyu was walking towards her as if he would tear her with his angry stare.

Her mother saw her nervousness and stepped forward. Holding her hand and walking past Yang Xinyu, she took her to the center of the hall where the mayor was talking to a group of businessmen.

As soon as the mayor saw them, he dismissed the group and turned his attention to them.

"Good evening father," said Yang Fangxu unsure of how to start the conversation.

The mayor didn't reply. Her mother chimed in, "Oh, come on Yang Min-Change, she is your daughter and children are bound to make mistakes. You can forgive her. After all she is your blood."

By that time, Yang Xinyu had come near them. He gestured Wu Lina to join them. Although Wu Lina was extremely reluctant to join them, she just sauntered over there holding her orange juice. She nodded when she looked at Yang Fangxu and her mother.

"Is this how you respect your elders?" said Yang Fangxu's mother to Wu Lina.

Wu Lina looked at Yang Xinyu with anger and saw that he was silently encouraging her to speak back.

"I am not bound to respect anyone who doesn't respect me. I am sorry father, but I don't even want to see them here. However, since you are father's guests, kindly have dinner and leave," said Wu Lina without regrets. Yes, she was venomous, but that felt great.

Yang Fangxu's mother smirked, "Well, what else can we expect from a woman with lowly background like yours?" Then she looked at the mayor and said, "We have come here to discuss about Yang Fangxu's share in your property."

The mayor was so angry that his face became red. "Do not speak with disrespect with Wu Lina, ever again. She had proven herself hundred times over as compared to Yang Fangxu as a daughter. Yang Xinyu and Wu Lina are my pride."

She was expecting mayor's wrath but she hated to see Wu Lina, as she felt that Wu Lina was responsible for her daughter's miseries. But when mayor spoke like that she was taken aback. She gulped and lowered her head.
