In the Yang mansion…

A week after the wedding, the Chairman felt reassured that Yang Chún qiàn could no longer pose a threat to the marriage of his son, he allowed her more freedom in the house. However, she still couldn't leave the house.

Yang Chún qiàn had waited patiently for this opportunity. They had cut all her communication off when they confined to her bedroom. But now she could use a phone. Knowing how harsh the Chairman could become, she became cautious of her actions. The first thing she did when she got her phone was to call Yang Chunxu, her lawyer.

After returning from Seychelles, Yang Xinyu and Wu Lina dead-tired. Thankfully, it was a Sunday, so Yang Xinyu could take a rest before joining the office.

When he joined the office on Monday, there was a pile of workload that needed his urgent attention. There were many back-to-back meetings.

Zhou Zhili had been on leave for a week and they had informed him of how she wouldn't be able to join the office for at least another month. A new secretary Pān Shīshīwas assigned to Yang Xinyu. She was a young girl in her mid-twenties and had good recommendations. But keeping up with Yang Xinyu's schedule was difficult, and he was scolding her at every single chance he could.

She wore a red skirt revealing her short legs along with a tight black blouse; she appeared as to be trying hard to get attention. In her experience, the CEOs of the companies liked their secretaries with revealing clothes and that was one reason she had good recommendations.

However, Yang Xinyu often became frustrated by her appearance and all the mistakes she made. After one meeting, someone had asked Yang Xinyu to wear appropriate clothing for the office.

One of the most pressing matters was the problem in the factory on the outskirts of the city a month back. The allegations were true and the Yang Corporation had to pay a lot of money in lawsuits and claims to the public. Instead of visiting the factory, Yang Xinyu called the Vice President of the company along with the uncle of Yang Fangxu who had supplied the faulty processors. The meeting was tomorrow, and the Chairman had to be informed. But the Chairman was not available, as he had to leave on a business trip to France.

The Chairman called Yang Xinyu and said, "Ah Xinyu, I don't want to be involved in this matter. It is a very small problem and you can take care of it. Take whatever decision you want and is appropriate for the company's future."

Yang Xinyu smiled and replied, "Okay father." He understood Chairman's intentions.

"How is Wu Lina doing?" asked the Chairman curious to hear something different.

"She is doing fine, father. A little exhausted from the trip. She is insisting to join the office though," replied Yang Xinyu with a sigh.

The Chairman also sighed, "I think she should take rest for a few days and then we can see."

"Yes father," replied Yang Xinyu and disconnected the phone knowing fully well that Wu Lina was getting impatient to join the office by the minute.

In the bungalow…

When Yang Xinyu left for the office in the morning, Wu Lina continued to sleep. She slept soundlessly much to Yang Xinyu's amusement. He had woken up, taken bath and even had his breakfast in the bedroom but she was sleeping like a baby. Before leaving he had kissed her forehead hoping to get a return kiss but all he got was a soft snore. He shook his head with a faint smile and left for the office.

Wu Lina woke up at mid-noon. She was surprised by her own tiredness. Lazily, she made her way to the bathroom to take a shower. When she reached inside the beautiful marble floored bathroom once again stunned her. The tub was located right in the center. It wasn't a tub, it was a Jacuzzi with an overhead shower. It was below the ground level so one had to go down four stairs inside it. One of the maid's had already filled the Jacuzzi for her with warm water and had missed lemon bathing gel in the water. When Wu Lina stepped in to take bath, she started sneezing. The lemon smell was invading her olfactory sensors and ran out of the bathroom. She hated the smell so much that she had to call the maid to drain all the water and fill it again without any bathing gel. The maid was scared and readied the bath for her within ten minutes.

Wu Lina again went inside and instructed her not to add anything unless asked for. Wu Lina wondered whether she was becoming spoiled.

When she came out to have her lunch, she saw that Mrs. Jiao had prepared five different dishes for her. She rolled her eyes and made a mental note of telling her to not splurge so much for one person in the house.

Nearing the table she saw that her favorite fish recipe was waiting to be devoured. But when she served it in her plate, the smell of the fish again invaded her nostrils and she started sneezing.

Mrs. Jiao ran in the dining hall to see the young missus.

"Mrs. Jiao, what fish is that?" asked Wu Lina with a wrinkled nose.

"This is your favorite dish miss, qīngzhēng lúyú," replied a worried Mrs. Jiao.

"Oh! Where did you get this sea bass from?"

"Young miss, this was caught early today in the morning from our lake on the east side."

"What? Why would you catch fish from that lake?" asked Wu Lina with a high-pitched voice.

"Young miss we breed different types of fish in the lake for eating purposes."

Wu Lina felt disgusted. The smell from the fish was appalling her and when Mrs. Jiao stated the purpose of the lake, she felt like throwing away the dish.

What was happening to her? Was she behaving like a spoiled socialite now?
