Wu Lina came back next morning after eight, which was later than usual.

Yang Xinyu woke up feeling a soft and warm hand over his forehead. He wiggled and opened his eyes to find Wu Lina in front of him.

Wu Lina felt his forehead and then hers, a frown was beginning to appear on her. Looking at her, Yang Xinyu felt dazed.

Her beautiful black eyes were looking down at him. He could fit her small face in his palm. Her long silky hair was tied in a bun, enhancing her soft facial features. Although she was wearing a nurse uniform, she looked mesmerizing. Realizing his thoughts for her, he pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes giving her an icy glare.

Startled, Wu Lina asked him softly, "How are you feeling? I hope you are not having headache or body pain. Are you comfortable?"

He removed her hand rudely and answered imperturbably, "I am fine."

"Dr. Zhou has assigned me to be your nurse from 8am to 6pm now", she said. "So I am there for you, at your service for most part of the day," she added with a chuckle trying to lift the mood of the day. It was a difficult task!

"I'll leave you to your daily routine. I will come back at nine to give your breakfast. Is that okay?" she asked.

"Okay…"

When she was gone Yang Xinyu crawled out of his bed. He got ready much before nine and waited for her to come. She was the only person he was inclined to talk to…

She came back exactly at nine with Dr. Zhou who was on his morning rounds.

"Hello, Yang Xinyu. How's everything? I hope nurse Wu Lina is not giving you any trouble! Let me know if she worries you even a bit, I will replace her immediately!" he smiled while talking to him casually. Yang Xinyu was not interested in striking a conversation with him...

Wu Lina also smiled at him politely.

Dr. Zhou looked at the daily patient history chart, and left after giving Wu Lina important instructions regarding medication.

Once they were alone, she said, "Would you like to have your breakfast? Hospital Goldmine has one of the best meals when it comes to taste."

"Okay," he replied with indifference.

He breakfast finished within fifteen minutes and an awkward silence filled the space after that.

Wu Lina was fidgeting… Yang Xinyu looked aloof and uninterested in her. His apathetic expression was making her feel ill at ease.

To lift the mood she started humming a song softly while checking her phone. Yang Xinyu felt weird. He crossed his hands on his chest and was visibly peeved. But Wu Lina wasn't paying heed to him and continued to hum.

He was very crossed now and wanted to shut her up. He turned to chide her… but noticed that the tune of the song was familiar… His expressions softened… He became attentive and listened to what she was singing. It was a beautiful song being softly hummed by her… He realized that she was singing one of his favorite songs. He got off the bed and slowly walked towards her. He stood in front of her transfixed.

She stopped humming, smiled lightly and asked, "Do you want something? You are looking at me as if you've seen me for the first time."

"Do you like singing? Do you know how to sing?" Yang Xinyu asked, his eyes boring into her.

"No. I don't. I was just humming… But I love listening to music a lot, especially classical. There are a few songs that I find very soulful and I can listen to them on a repeat mode on my phone," she replied slightly shy of her drawback.

"I love listening to the song I was humming right now," she voiced those lyrics.
