Chapter 882: What Was Qi For?
It was a small but delicate wooden plate.
On one side of it was a mountain. On the other side was the simple character for medicine.
“What is its purpose?” Jia Zizai curiously asked.
“With this wooden sign, Mr. Wang will make a full effort to rescue a person as you wish,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“Wow, that is so amazing!” Jia Zizai sighed.
“Based on his skills, he could treat any disease to save a life, right?”
“I don’t know how skillful Mr. Wang is in regards to medicine, but like his kung fu, it could be without any limits,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“Brother, have you ever used the plate?” Jia Zizai asked.
Given their current status, if they were injured or sick, Wang Yao would make all the effort possible to treat them.
“Ha-ha… What you don’t know is that this pharmacist order has another wonderful usage,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“What is that?”
“If wearing it, it can keep you safe from hundreds of insects.”
“Hundreds of insects? Do you mean that it will repel poisonous insects?”
“Yeah, and I have tried,” Zhong Liuchuan said. “It really works. Flies, mosquitoes, and other bugs hide from me.”
“No mosquito coils or nets in summer would be good,” Jia Zizai said.
“Should I ask Mr. Wang for two of them? What do you think, my wife?”
“Are you afraid of mosquito bites?”
In Wang Zecheng’s home…
Crash!
Wang Yilong was chopping firewood in the yard.
After hearing the sound, Wang Zecheng’s wife hurried out of the room. “Dad, what are you doing?”
“The firewood piles have been here for a few days,” the old man said as he stretched his shoulders. “Zecheng is busy from morning to night. You have to take care of the child and cook meals, so you cannot do it. I have felt uncomfortable and been idle for the past two days. So, I wanted to get some exercise and chop firewood.”
I haven’t worked for quite a while, so my shoulders are sore from working hard.
I am getting old.
“Dad, you don’t need to do this,” his daughter-in-law hurriedly said. “You should go back in the house and rest. I will chop it later.”

She was clear about the old man’s situation. He could not get overworked. He needed to nurse his body and carefully look after it so he could live longer.
“I’m not tired,” the old man smiled and said.
“I don’t need you to do anything of that. You should go into the house and drink some tea.”
In the end, he didn’t persuade his daughter-in-law otherwise. The old man put down his ax and went into the house to drink some tea. He rubbed his shoulders while walking.
“Dad, are you uncomfortable?”
“No, it’s just that I haven’t worked for some time. This shoulder is a bit too weak, but it’s OK.”
“Hey, that’s good.” His daughter-in-law was relieved. She was afraid that her father-in-law would suffer from other problems due to chopping firewood.
He finally looked better. She didn’t want anything to go wrong.
Uh-huh!
The old man yawned and moved his body a little.
“Well, doing some activities is actually quite good,” the old man said to himself. “When Zecheng comes back, I have to tell him that it can’t always be like this. I need more physical activity.”
In Jia Zizai’s home…
Uh-huh!
Jia Zizai split several stacked bricks with one palm.
Purr! Hiss!
“What are you doing?” Hu Mei asked.
“I am practicing qigong!”
“Qigong?” Hu Mei asked a moment later.
“Do you have neixi?”
“No.”
“Which qigong do you practice?” Hu Mei laughed.
“I’m practicing Qi.”
“Does Qi allow you to split bricks by hand? Are you sure about that?” Hue Mei asked. “I can tell that it is hard work. According to your thinking, why don’t you practice breaking the stone in your chest using Qi?”
“That risk factor is too high.”
“It’s only been a few days since you calmed down. Why did you start by aiming so high?”
“Meditation and Qi induction are boring. I ought to gradually relax,” Jia Zizai said. Recently, his mental state had been refined. This was just a sudden whim.
“Darling, what do you think about the use of Qi?”
“How would I know about it?” You have to ask your master or brother if you want to know more about that,” Hu Mei replied.
“Mr. Wang’s skills are too high. I could not keep up with him. I can ask my brother. He is still trying to catch up,” Jia Zizai said with a smile.

“Go visit him and drink some tea.”
When Jia Zizai arrived at Zhong Liuchuan’s home, he found him chopping wood in the yard with a rusty ax. The ax, which should have been thrown away, had amazing power in his hands. No matter the thickness of the firewood, the ax easily split it.
“Brother, are you busy?”
“What’s the matter?” Zhong Liuchuan asked with a smile as he looked up at him.
“I have something to talk to you about, but you are busy. Continue with your work. I find it a pleasure to watch you split firewood!” This was not a compliment. The ax was dancing in Zhong Liuchuan’s hands, which had a unique charm.
“Ha-ha…” Zhong Liuchuan stopped chopping the firewood. He entered the house and made a pot of tea for the two of them.
“Do you want to drink some tea?”
“Thank you, Brother.”
“So, what is the matter you came to see me about?”
“What’s the use of Qi while I practice?” Jia Zizai asked.
“Huh, Qi?” Zhong Liuchuan though for a moment. “Are you talking about neixi?”
“Yes, neixi is what I mean.”
“Ha-ha, it is pretty magical,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“Would you please tell me more in detail?” Jia Zi’s eyes brightened.
“I practice frequently, but I only have a little neixi. It is like a small drop of water in the ocean, but the little drop makes me full of energy. I have tried it, and it doesn’t matter if I do not sleep for two consecutive days.”
Jia Zizai thought for a moment. “Well, in simple terms, does it mean that endurance increases?”
“Yes, you can view it in that way,” Zhong Liuchuan replied after taking a sip of tea. “Is there anything else?”
“Something more?” Zhong Liuchuan thought about it.
“Come, let us have a competition.” He extended an arm.
“What do you mean?”
“Arm wrestle.”
“Ah? Well, whoever loses will invite the other party to eat and drink.”
“OK,” Zhong Liuchuan smiled and said.
“Start!”
Jia Zizai exhausted his energy from the beginning, but Zhong Liuchuan’s arm remained motionless.
What is going on?
Jia Zizai continued to press hard. His face turned red because he was putting in too much, but Zhong Liuchuan did not even move a little. He felt that he wasn’t pressing a wrist but a concrete electric pole inserted into the ground.
“I’ll start to make an effort.” After speaking, Zhong Liuchuan began to exert force. Jia Zizai immediately felt the surge of power. He lost, unable to resist it.
“Goodness! You have so much energy!”
“You can try with both your hands.”
“Really?” Jia Zizai asked.
“Yes, of course.”
“Come on! I’ll treat you tonight. Come to my house and drink.”
“Do you want to drink more?”
“Start! Come on!”
Jia Zizai used both hands, but Zhong Liuchuan’s arm remained motionless like before.
“What’s going on?”
“Well, it’s my turn. Come on.”
He released another surge of power. Jia Zizai once again could not resist and simply lost.
This… This…
“Is it also because of Qi?”
“Yes, it is because of Qi.”
Jia Zizai sat there for a while.
“What else?”
“I also hear more clearly, see farther, and feel more real all around.”
“Are your five senses sharper?”
“Correct.”
“Well, Brother, I won’t ask more. Could you please just tell me all it at once?”
“There is nothing else to tell.”
“Nothing?”
“Wasn’t that already enough?” Zhong Liuchuan asked with a smile.
“Ah, I didn’t mean that.” Jia Zizai waved his hand.
“Brother, you have a sense of Qi, but there is no neixi in your body,” Zhong Liuchuan said. “Why are you asking about it?”
“I just want to know more to be a little more motivated.”
Zhong Liuchuan smiled.
“It is good if you want to know more about that.”
“Brother, do you know the extent of Mr. Wang’s skills?”
“Well… I don’t know, but Mr. Wang can release his neixi out to flow in the world.”
“Flow in the world?” Jia Zizai looked up at the sky outside.
“What does that look like? Can he do anything he wants?”
“You have to practice patiently. Just take it step by step.”
“Well, sorry to have disturbed you, Brother.”
“No problem. Let’s drink some tea.”
“Thank you.”
Jia Zizai stayed at Zhong Liuchuan’s house for a long time.
“What about coming to my house for dinner?”
“No, thanks. I was just kidding, but you took it seriously.”
“Of course, you must come!”
“It’s unnecessary.”
“Brother, don’t refuse me. If you don’t come, I will be angry!”

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
