Chapter 879: Fire Poison Attacks the Heart
He held onto the trunk tightly with both of his hands. His arms exerted force. His body was taut all over.
“What’s the matter with him?” Jia Zizai asked.
“Ah, he is not feeling well,” the driver said.
“Well, it looks rather uncomfortable,” Jia Zizai remarked.
Ah!
Xu Xinyuan gritted his teeth. His fingers dug into the tree trunk. Blood oozed out.
“Water!” His voice was hoarse as if it had been burned.
“Ah, ah, water.” The driver hurriedly grabbed a bottle of mineral water and ran to him. He handed it to him and quickly backed away, afraid of receiving any unexpected surprise.
Xu Xinyuan opened the mineral water and took big gulps from the bottle. Within a short time, half of the big bottle of water was gone.
“He drinks heartily like a whale!” Jia Zizai exclaimed.
“How many days has he gone by without water?”
“He has drunk water. He was drinking water nonstop all the way here.”
“Dying of thirst?”
“What do you mean dying of thirst? I don’t know about that, but I know that he is ill.”
“Of course, and he is quite sick.”
“Can we go?” Hu Mei softly asked.
“No, I have to stay here to keep watch. Looking at the person’s condition, he looks very unstable. He might lose control anytime. It would be bad if he were to ruin anything of Sir’s,” Jia Zizai said. They were outside the clinic after all.
“You go back. I’ll stay here. Sir should probably be coming down soon.”
“I’ll accompany you,” Hu Mei said.
The two of them quietly stood by and watched the person who was digging his fingers into trees.
Huuu… Huuu…
He gasped for breath heavily. He felt that his chest was unbearably stuffy and could not breathe in enough air.
Thump! He landed a punch on the tree trunk. He didn’t feel any pain in his hands.
“He is not here yet?” He suddenly turned back. His face was ferocious. He looked like a wild animal about to go mad.
“Oh, not yet. Hold on for a little while more,” the driver said.
“God, Buddha bless us, please don’t cause any trouble at this time,” he whispered.
He now felt regret. He shouldn’t have accepted this job. He originally didn’t have to accept this job. It was another colleague’s job. However, something had cropped up for his colleague at the last minute, and he was kind enough to help. He had not expected the situation to turn out like this.
Ah! Ah! Ah!
Xu Xinyuan suddenly fell to his knees and hit the ground with his fists. The ground was hard, and there were stones on it. Soon, his hands were covered with blood, but it was as if he could not feel the pain. He was still fiercely hammering as if the ground and he had some kind of deep hatred.

“What is happening?” Jia Zizai was stunned.
“Could he have gone crazy?”
Ah!
Suddenly, the man sprang up and rushed in front of the driver. His hands, which were covered with blood, grabbed him and brought him in front of him.
“Go and find him now!”
“Ok, OK.” The driver was scared silly.
Who would have thought such a thing would happen?
“Quickly!”
Xu Xinyuan pushed the driver away with trembling hands.
“I’ll go right away.” The driver ran away in a hurry.
Looking at the direction the driver left, Jia Zizai asked, “Where is he going to find Sir?”
“He’s not going to find Sir. He is just escaping. Can’t you see that?” Hu Mei rolled her eyes at him.
Xu Xinyuan turned around and rushed back into the open space. He picked up the bottle on the ground and started to drink.
Jia Zizai looked at the man and wondered, What kind of disease is it?
Xu Xinyuan was like a lit explosive bag that could go off at any time.
Why isn’t he here yet?
He gritted his teeth and growled.
I can’t stand it any longer!
He jumped up from the ground and whipped around. His eyes were blood red. He was like a beast staring at Jia Zizai and Hu Mei.
“Calm down!” Jia Zizai shouted and made a gesture.
It would have been a little better if he had not shouted. The shout seemed to trigger something in Xu Xinyuan. He immediately rushed over.
“Get out of here!” He gave a loud roar.
His will was tenacious, but he had reached his limit. He could not stand it anymore.
“Wow, he can still be so restrained at a time like this! That is quite formidable!” Jia Zizai exclaimed.
“Damn it, bloody leave already!” Xu Xinyuan roared.
His previous experiences were all somewhat bloody, but he was now in a much more terrible state. The unknown poison had aroused the killing factor hidden in his heart. He didn’t know why, but he wanted to vent and kill someone.
No, absolutely not!
As soon as this thought was released, it was as if a dam had broken. He could not hold back anymore.
It was too hard.
I can’t kill anyone! Not here!
He suddenly ran toward the field nearby.
“Where are you going?” Jia Zizai stopped him.
“Get out of the way!”
Xu Xinyuan punched hard, but his punch was easily caught by the other party.
“The strength is too light, and the accuracy is not enough,” Jia Zizai said with a smile.
“Get out of the way!” Xu Xinyuan roared.
What was going on?
Not far away, Wang Yao, who had come down from the mountain, heard the roar and saw two people seemingly in a stalemate.
“God, what’s going on?” Not far away, a man peeked his head out from behind the wall of the clinic. It was the driver who had just ran away and said that he would go and look for Dr. Wang.

This was his first time here, so he was not familiar with the territory. He also did not know anyone there. Where could he possibly go to find someone? He had just taken that opportunity to leave so as not to be affected.
“Upon my honor, I’m not leaving you alone. I can’t control the situation at all!” the driver murmured to himself.
“Please don’t cause any deaths!”
He took out his cellphone with trembling hands, ready to ask for help from the higher-ups.
“Here comes Sir!” Jia Zizai saw Wang Yao coming from the mountain road.
“Congratulations, you are saved.” He turned his head and spoke to the man with blood-red eyes and a strange waxy face.
In the other party’s current state, he was not able to listen to Jia Zizai. He simply thought that the person who had stopped him was hateful. He wanted to smash the man’s head and make him disappear from his sight. He had tried that, but his attack was easily evaded by Jia Zizai.
“Quiet, quiet.”
Before he could finish speaking, Wang Yao came to them.
The man hiding behind the corner of the hospital rubbed his eyes. Huh, there’s suddenly another person there. Where did he come from?
“Sir.”
“What’s the matter?”
“This man came to you for treatment,” Jia Zizai said. “He had been waiting here for a while. It seems that he is very sick. He was over there digging his fingers into trees and beating the ground. It seems that he can’t control it. He has gone mad, but he’s kind-hearted. He asked us to stay away before he lost control.”
The man’s eyes were blood red, and his breath was hot. His heart was pounding fast. These were symptoms of dry heat.
Heat poison had attacked his heart, causing him to lose all reason, before advancing to madness.
“Let him go.”
“Ok.” Jia Zizai released his death grip.
Xu Xinyuan was about to attack, but he was bound by an invisible force. It was as if he was shackled. He stayed put.
“Well, what is happening?” The driver who had been hiding in the corner was staring at them. He did not know if he should come out to explain the situation a little.
“Hey, it’s fine. You can come here now.” Jia Zizai beckoned to the driver at the corner of the wall.
It seems that it is safe now.
He thought about it and went over it. The task given to him by the higher-ups was not just to bring this person here. He was to also provide convenience as much as possible. If something were to go wrong with the man, he would have an unshirkable responsibility. He might lose his job when he got back.
He had inquired before he came. When he saw how young Wang Yao was, he tentatively asked, “Hello, are you Dr. Wang?”
“It is me.”
“Ah, Hello, Dr. Wang. Mr. Xu here has been poisoned. I have brought him for treatment and waited for a while. I don’t know why, but he suddenly fell ill. I’m…”
“I already know everything. Come to the clinic with me.” After Wang Yao finished speaking, he did not do anything, but Xu Xinyuan, who had just been mad, fainted.
“Huh?!”
“Carry him on your back,” Jia Zizai said to the driver.
“Ah?”
“What ah? It’s very dangerous to abandon your partner at a critical moment, and it was not very nice of you to not tell us how dangerous your partner was. After all, your partner even asked us to stay away from him even when he was going mad,” Jia Zizai said.
“Hurry up.”
“Alright, I shall carry him,” the driver said. What he had just done was indeed not right and just, but to put himself in danger for the sake of a stranger he had never met before, he could not do that.
He carried Xu Xinyuan to the clinic.
Wang Yao examined him carefully.
“It’s not a big problem. He has been poisoned. I can treat it, but it is expensive.”
“How much is it?”
“100,000 dollars.”
“How much?” The driver was stunned.
God, this is blackmail, asking for 100,000 dollars at once!
“Well, I don’t have so much money with me!”
“Try to find a way. For this poison, the more time passes, the deeper the poison will infiltrate into his internal organs and the more troublesome it will be to get rid of it.”
“Just a moment. I’ll go out and make a phone call.”
The driver rushed out and made a phone call to the higher-ups. Before he could finish speaking, the other party said just one word.
“Pay.”
“Ah?!”
“Pay him the money. Do you need me to repeat it?”
“I don’t have that much money with me!”
“Find a way. Just save him first. Leave your car as a mortgage. I’ll arrange for people to go there as fast as possible. Mr. Xu must be saved. Otherwise, don’t come back.”
“No…”
Beep… Beep… Beep… The busy tone rang out.
“Ah, these people, do they not use their brains when dealing with matters?”
He went back to the clinic.
“How is it?”
“Well, do you think you could save him first?” the driver asked. “I don’t have that much money with me, but I won’t back out of a debt. I’ll mortgage the car outside. Someone will soon send the money here.”

The Dog with a Chair
As of now, this story is dropped. It was an excellent learning experience, but the quality suffered too much from me trying new things for me to continue in good concience. Thanks to anyone that read it. I'm leaving this story up as a record of my first ever attempt at publishing something I've wrote. To any new writers out there, remember that even if the stuff you write is trash, you can still learn a lot from writing it. - November 17th 2020 Guy gets involved in advocacy for civil engineering projects, then gets pulled into an interdimensional war. Third person with a focus on one main character (Stanley) with the occasional point of view from another character important to story progression. Writing style tends to shift early on as I figure out how to write (this is my first book). Still learning, hoping to improve. Current style choice is to have a focus on character dialogue/actions with interspersed internal monologue in italics. No current end is set for the story, with the primary goal of this project being to learn to express myself in a written format. Storyline is kept as consistent as practical while covering things I find interesting. Governmental systems are mentioned, but not explained in extreme detail. Sci fi elements are used to reinforce and guide plot progression as I'm able. Personal goals belonging to each character are in the process of being developed, with the hope that they will support or oppose each other in interesting ways later on. Hope you enjoy :)

Life in the New World
On the Hiatus: I began writing this novel when I was, in all honesty, very bad at writing. I hope to revisit creative writing in the near future and I plan to, at some point in time, revisit this. I am flattered that many people have taken the time to read this story, but it is not what I intend to start with, as it will likely need a hard rewrite in order to correct many of the more glaring issues it has. Join our hero and follow his exciting adventure through a newly changed world! WARNING their will be violence, profanity,, and gore in this fiction. if any of these make you uncomfortable this is not a story for you turn around and walk away now!!!
