Chapter 815: Shoot Me
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Su Zhixing, who was on the other side, laughed and asked, “What’s the matter?”
“Look for yourself.” Mu Chengzhou passed the binoculars to Su Zhixing. He turned to Wang Yao and asked, “Dr. Wang, would you like to try shooting a machine gun?”
“Sure!” Wang Yao grabbed the automatic rifle. He pulled the trigger. The bullets shot out and hit the target 328 feet away, making loud, crisp sounds.
“Is this for real!” Su Zhixing put down the binoculars and rubbed his eyes. He looked up at Wang Yao standing beside him. “Brother-in-law, tell me the truth, have you really never used this before?”
“No, I haven’t,” Wang Yao replied.
“Do you know your shooting results?” Su Zhixing asked.
“About the ninth or tenth rings I think,” Wang Yao replied. It sounded boastful that he could see that far away, but with his extraordinary vision, he was able to see the number of rings above the target.
His position when holding the gun was very stable. The others could not see the gun move or shake. The automatic rifle had a certain recoil force when it was continuously fired. It was unavoidable that the gun would move and shake. Even if a veteran soldier were to fire it, he would only be able to keep it stable and minimize the movements at most. When Wang Yao held the gun, it was as if the gun was fixed. There were no movements at all.
“How did you do that?” Su Zhixing was very surprised.
“I just fired,” Wang Yao said with a laugh.
“You are saying it so calmly, but your words hold more than 10,000 critical strike damages. It is as if we’ve been practicing for years in vain.” Su Zhixing slapped his head. “First, you shot it very accurately. Second, the end of the gun was too stable. Did you know those two things aren’t normal? If you had been a trained soldier, it would have been acceptable, but you are just a doctor who hasn’t been trained. It is very puzzling.”
“I can answer that.” Wang Yao was silent for a moment before saying, “First, I can see more clearly, so I could hit the target more accurately. Second, I have a stronger hand, so I was able to hold the gun more steadily.”
“It sounds so simple!” Su Zhixing was stunned.
“Is it not just a simple matter?” Wang Yao asked.

“Alright, let’s change the topic and try another gun,” Su Zhixing said.
“Alright, I’ll try the sniper gun.” Wang Yao held up a long gun.
“The shooting technique for this gun requires a high degree of skill,” Su Zhixing said. “It has to take into account the distance, wind speed, and humidity.”
“There are so many requirements,” Wang Yao said as he looked at the gun.
“Of course, shooting is a very profound knowledge, especially sniping,” Su Zhixing said. “It can be said that every sniper is also a sharpshooter, but not every sharpshooter can become a sniper. A sniper has to have talent.”
“All the more for me to try it,” Wang Yao said.
The target, which was hundreds of feet away, was very small to the naked eye, and the wind was blowing gently. Wang Yao had never learned the professional techniques to adjust for wind speed, humidity, and distance. He pulled the trigger with ease. With a snap, the bullet hit the target.
“What were you aiming for?” Su Zhixing asked.
“The head,” Wang Yao replied.
“Phew, luckily, you didn’t get it this time, otherwise I would have doubted whether my training in the army these years had been in vain,” Su Zhixing said as he put down the binoculars.
“What other firearms are there?” Wang Yao asked.
“We have a shotgun, grenade gun, and machine gun,” Su Zhixing said as he pointed to each one. “Which one do you want to try?”
“Can I try them all?” Wang Yao asked.
“Sure, try them all,” Su Zhixing said.
In the shooting range, gunshots continuously sounded.
Mu Chengzhou looked at the time and said, “Alright, it is almost noon. Let’s go have lunch and come back later.”
The food in the army’s dining hall was plentiful. The food standards for these special forces was higher than the general army’s because the training they underwent was more intensive. They were the elites. They had been chosen from 1 in 100, or even 1 in 1,000 or 10,000. They carried out the most dangerous tasks, so they had the right to enjoy that kind of treatment.
“How is it?” Mu Chengzhou asked.
“Mmm, it is delicious,” Wang Yao replied.
“Want to have a drink?” Mu Chengzhou asked.
“No thank you, I do not like drinking very much,” Wang Yao replied with a smile.
While they were eating, a soldier came over. Mu Chengzhou said something and left. After a while, he returned.

“Is there a mission?” Su Zhixing softly asked.
“Let’s talk after lunch,” Mu Chengzhou said.
After finishing their meal, they went to the temporary resting place prepared by the army for Wang Yao.
“I have just been notified that the group has reappeared at the border,” Mu Chengzhou said. “They have asked us to snipe them out.”
“I will take the lead with the team this time,” Su Zhixing said.
“I’ll go and see it too if it is appropriate,” Wang Yao said.
“You?” Su Zhixing was stunned.
“Why? Are there regulations?” Wang Yao asked.
“The battlefield is not a martial arts fight,” Su Zhixing said. “The guns and knives have no eyes. You should not go.”
He was worried about Wang Yao. Since they were carrying out a mission, he would be in danger if he came along.
“I may be able to help you restrain those people who use special attacks,” Wand Yao said. “You can rest assured that I will not be a burden to you.”
Mu Chengzhou was hesitant. They had never done anything like this.
“How about this, you call in a few fighters, and I will spar with them to show you,” Wang Yao said.
Mu Chengzhou wasn’t quite convinced. “I know your skills, but…”
“I want to go and see,” Wang Yao repeated.
“OK, we will do as you suggest and pick a few fighters for you to spar with,” Mu Chengzhou said.
To be honest, in his heart, he hoped that Wang Yao would be able to go with the team so that he could save the lives of the soldiers suffering from some special injuries, but he had to consider Su Zhixing’s feelings.
“Alright,” Wang Yao said.
Soon, five soldiers were selected. They were all from the special operations elite team. They were highly skilled in guns, fighting, driving, and so on.
“Spar with him?” One of the soldiers was stunned. “Why?”
Among the men was Meng Wushuang, who had almost died when he was injured in Jing and had been rescued by Wang Yao. “This is the doctor who saved my life.”
“Really?” the soldier asked.
“What would I lie to you about that?” Meng Wushuang asked.
“So, he’s a doctor.” The soldier found the situation interesting.
Wang Yao looked at these seemingly strong warriors and said, “I know some kung fu and want to try sparring with you guys. You don’t have to be merciful. You can also use cold weapons.”
“Captain, you are kidding, right?” Meng Wushuang whispered to Su Zhixing.
“I am not kidding,” Su Zhixing replied. “Let me tell you, he is a master of kung fu. I told you last time.”
“None of that kung fu is for killing,” Meng Wushuang said.
“Alright, ready?” Mu Chengzhou asked.
“I’m ready,” Wang Yao said.
“Start!” Mu Chengzhou stepped back, leaving enough room for all of them.
The fighters all looked at each other but did not take action. The man in front of them looked very elegant. He didn’t look like he knew kung fu at all.
Seeing their hesitation, Wang Yao smiled and said, “I’ll strike first.”
“OK, you strike first,” a soldier said.
Wang Yao took a step and was instantly in front of the soldiers. His hands flipped over. The soldiers all flew out and fell to the ground. Everything happened in the blink of an eye.
“Huh, what happened?” The soldiers who had fallen to the ground were stunned.
Su Zhixing was also stunned. Mu Chengzhou’s eyes were wide open. They hadn’t seen how Wang Yao had struck them.
“How is he that fast?” a soldier asked.
The soldiers became more serious. They crawled up and surrounded Wang Yao.
“Dr. Wang, be careful!” Meng Wushuang shouted before launching an attack.
In an instant, he was on the ground. All the soldiers were soon in his predicament.
“Hey, what did your brother-in-law learn?” Mu Chengzhou finally asked the question he had been wondering for a long time.
He thought, He’s a doctor with superb medical skills at such a young age, so how could he know such mysterious kung fu as well? He’s so young! Isn’t it too mysterious?
Meng Wushuang took the lead and said, “I surrender!”
Wang Yao was not someone who was on the same level as them. They couldn’t even see his movements clearly. If he wanted to kill them, they would probably be dead in seconds.
“What do you guys think?” Wang Yao turned and looked at Mu Chengzhou and Su Zhixing.
“Well, I think we can try,” Mu Chengzhou said after a long period of silence.
Su Zhixing pulled Wang Yao aside and said, “Well, Brother-in-law, consider it carefully. It’s very dangerous. If there’s an accident, how can I tell your family and Xiaoxue?”
Wang Yao thought for a moment and headed toward the shooting range. “Come.”
“Why?” Su Zhixing asked.
“Shoot me,” Wang Yao said.
“What?” Su Zhixing couldn’t believe what he had just heard.

Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.
