Chapter 773: Encounter
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
There would be a board meeting in two days. The reason Wang Yao wanted to meet Zhang Wei was that he wanted to know if he had the superpowers that Jia Zizai had described.
Few people wanted to be involved in a dangerous occupation. Jia Zizai was tired of fighting and killing people. He wanted to change his lifestyle, so did the pretty woman sitting next to him. In fact, they had wanted to retire from the company for a long time and had been preparing for it. However, the company was too powerful. They couldn’t take the risk. It was different now. They had a good chance to say goodbye to the company.
“Are you going to Dao for me?” Zhong Liuchuan came to see Wang Yao as soon as he got the news.
“Yeah, I want to meet with your CEO,” Wang Yao said with a smile.
“I’ll go with you,” Zhong Liuchuan said without hesitation.
“No need. Stay in the village. I can manage by myself. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” Wang Yao patted Zhong Liuchuan on the shoulder.
“I just don’t trust them,” Zhong Liuchuan said. He meant Jia Zizai and Hu Mei.
“It doesn’t matter to me,” Wang Yao replied. “The only thing I care about is the village. Make sure everything’s fine here.”
“I see, Dr. Wang,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“I’ve decided to go to Dao tomorrow,” Wang Yao said.
“Do you need to take anything with you?” Zhong Liuchuan asked.
“No, I’m not taking anything with me,” Wang Yao said.
He went home that night to notify his parents about his trip to Dao.
“You just got back,” Zhang Xiuying said.
“I just need to visit Dao,” Wang Yao said. “It’s not far. I’ve got something to deal with there.”
“OK, be careful,” Zhang Xiuying said.
“I will,” Wang Yao said.
He left early the next morning and arrived in Dao two hours later. He parked his car at a motel and booked himself a room. Next, he called a taxi to take him to the trading company Jia Zizai and Zhong Liuchuan worked for.
The company, which was called Sihai Trading Company, was not very big. It was located in a six-story building that looked old. It had a small yard, inside which several cars were parked. The best car was a BMW 7 series. Wang Yao presumed it was the CEO’s vehicle.

The CEO lived in a well-known area of luxurious houses. All the people living there were very wealthy.
Wang Yao checked the time before sending Jia Zizai a text message. He is here?!
Jia Zizai was surprised to receive the message. He was not in the office at the moment.
He arrived at the company a moment later. He drove an Audi A6, which was commonly seen in Dao. Wang Yao found a cafe nearby and ordered a cup of coffee.
An hour later, Wang Yao received a message from a strange number. He walked out of the cafe. A car suddenly stopped next to him.
“Hello, Mr. Jia asked me to come,” a young man wearing sunglasses said as he wound down the window.
Wang Yao didn’t say anything. He opened the door of the car and got in.
“Follow the BMW in front, and don’t let them know,” he said.
“No problem,” the young man said.
There were a lot of cars on the street. Zhang Wei arrived at a boutique health club a moment later.
“You have to be a member to enter the club,” the young man said.
“I see. You can leave now,” Wang Yao said.
The young man immediately drove off.
Wang Yao made a phone call after he got out of the car. A moment later, Hao came to the club.
“What brings you here, Dr. Wang?” Hao asked with confusion.
“I need to get into this club, but I’m not a member,” Wang Yao said as he pointed at the club.
“Just one sec.” Hao took out a dark gold card.
“You can spend as much as you want to,” Hao said.
“Thank you,” Wang Yao said.
“You are welcome,” Hao replied.
Wang Yao entered the club with the membership card. The decorations inside the club were an elegant Japanese style. The customer service staff were young and pretty girls. One of them came to welcome Wang Yao.
The club consisted of many private rooms. Privacy was well protected there.
It’s going to be a bit tricky, Wang Yao thought. Hmm?
He suddenly saw a Japanese man, who he presumed was the same guy Jia Zizai had mentioned. He had also seen the man’s picture in the material provided by Jia Zizai. The Japanese man went into a private room.
“I want that room,” Wang Yao said to the customer service girl. He picked a room next door.
Wang Yao was a bit lost since this was his first time at a private club.

“You can leave now,” Wang Yao said to the customer service girl.
“OK. Let me know if you need anything,” the girl said.
The room was extremely soundproof. Wang Yao couldn’t hear a thing from the room next door. He poked at the corner of the wall, and a tiny hole appeared.
Now I can hear, he thought.
The voice was quiet, but Wang Yao had extraordinary hearing to catch every single word.
“How is everything going?” Zhang Wei asked.
“I need more guinea pigs,” the Japanese man said.
“How many more?” Zhang Wei asked.
“Nine,” the Japanese man said.
Zhang Wei was silent for a moment before saying, “I’ll see what I can do.”
“OK,” the Japanese man said.
Ahem! Ahem! Zhang Wei started to cough.
He is sick, very sick. Wang Yao could tell that Zhang Wei had a serious problem in his lungs.
“You must take care of yourself,” the Japanese man said.
“I’m trying, but I think I’m lucky enough to be alive still,” Zhang Wei replied.
His voice was hoarse, and he was short of breath. He was very weak.
“I still think you should go back where you were trained to get some help,” the Japanese man said. “It’s OK to bow down for your health.”
“It’s not about giving in or losing face,” Zhang Wei said. “I’ll probably lose my life If I go back.”
Where was he trained? Wang Yao was surprised by Zhang Wei’s background.
No one was speaking in the other. Wang Yao calmly sat on the sofa.
Om! Someone’s cellphone was vibrating.
“Hello? Yes… OK, I see,” Zhang Wei said on the phone. “Mr. Wuzang, I have to go now. Please take a break and enjoy the place here.”
“OK, thanks,” the Japanese man said.
Zhang Wei left the room. Wang Yao hesitated and decided not to follow Zhang Wei. A moment later, he heard a young girl moaning next door.
What the? Wang Yao was speechless.
After a while, the Japanese man called in another girl. It seemed he hadn’t had enough.
Is this really a health club? Wang Yao sighed.
Hiragana, the Japanese man, was a bit unsteady when he walked out of the room. He didn’t notice he was followed at all.
Wang Yao found Hao still waiting for him outside the club.
“Follow that guy,” Wang Yao said.
“Sasaki Hiragana?” Hao spoke the Japanese name. “Are you investigating him?”
“Yes, do you know him?” Wang Yao asked.
“I’ve seen him before,” Hao said. “He’s a Japanese businessman doing international trade. The main product his business is involved with is drugs. Mr. Sun had done business with him.”
“Has he done anything illegal?” Wang Yao asked.
“What do you mean?” Hao asked.
“Nothing.” Wang Yao shook his head. Hao remembered the question. “Where does he live in Dao?”
“He lives in a group of luxurious apartments,” Hao said.
“Let’s go check it out,” Wang Yao said.
Hao drove Wang Yao to Hiragana’s residence. They noticed Hiragana’s car had just entered the place.
“Do you know what Yunsheng is doing now?” Wang Yao asked.
“He’s in the office,” Hao said.
“Is he available now?” Wang Yao asked.
“I’m pretty sure he’ll make himself available for you,” Hao replied.
“OK, take me to his office,” Wang Yao said.
“Sure,” Hao said.
They eventually decided not to meet at Sun Yunsheng’s office. They met at one of the clubs Sun Yunsheng owned.
“Did you come here for Niragana?” Sun Yunsheng asked.
“Yes, I want to know about him,” Wang Yao said.
“I’ve asked Hao to check on him,” Sun Yunsheng said. “Does he have any problems?”
“I think so,” Wang Yao said.
“Did he offend you?” Sun Yunsheng directly asked.
“Well, I don’t know how to put it,” Wang Yao said. “He didn’t offend me directly. Let’s find out what he has done first.”
“Sure, are you available to have dinner together?” Sun Yunsheng asked.
“Well, I’ve got plans,” Wang Yao said after thinking for a moment.
“How many days are you going to stay here?” Sun Yunsheng asked.
“I’m not sure,” Wang Yao replied. “It depends on what I can find.”
“I see,” Sun Yunsheng said.
Wang Yao left the club after chatting with Sun Yunsheng for a short while. Hao came back a moment later.
“What did you find?” Sun Yunsheng asked.
“He is involved in selling human organs on the black market,” Hao said.
“What?” Sun Yunsheng frowned. “How long has he been doing that? Does he have a business partner here?”
What Hiragana did wasn’t within his expectations. He still had occasional business dealings with the company Hiragana represented. He wondered if Hiragana had been committing crimes using his family’s power in Dao. He thought it was quite possible.

Starlight Antiquities
There is a place in the galaxy that deals in antiquities of all kinds, human and non-human alike. Its inventory of artifacts is colossal as is its inventory of mercs who they hire to acquire any artifact a client may wish that is yet to come into their possession. The ill-reputable business is constantly rubbing against the changing tolerance of the Union's government, and there are many security officers who would love nothing better than to vaporize the whole place with its owners inside. Yet, there are many tasks that nobody can do better, especially in the vastness of deep space where Union law is worth less than the energy needed to display it. One of its jobs involves finding an artifact that may not only hold the future of the human race but may also disturb the balance of the whole galaxy. *** While waiting for the next season of Mandalorian and the Witcher, and rewatching Firefly for the gazillionth of time, I decided to write this space-based series. The series has some litRPG elements in it, but it does not read like one. So, you won't run into any blue screens here. Yet, I wanted to use litRPG to give another dimension to this whole story and make it as unique as possible. This is a work-in-progress. Hope to keep on improving and fixing my mistakes as I go along.
