Chapter 744: Remember the Favor
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
She had to leave even though she didn’t achieve anything. Her son had to continue to suffer. Hou Shida’s mother became increasingly upset.
“You wait!” Hou Shida’s mother coldly shouted as she took a glance at the young doctor standing there quietly. She didn’t hide her hatred towards him.
The men who came with her thought, That young doctor’s gonna be in trouble!
Wang Yao, however, didn’t care. I guess I got myself one more enemy, he thought.
This wasn’t the first time he had offended someone. He wouldn’t treat a scumbag like Hou Shida. It would be an insult to him, a Traditional Chinese Pharmacist. He was not Buddha, who would try to save anyone regardless of whether the person was good or bad. No, even the Buddha wouldn’t help just anyone.
It was quiet that night.
…
In a pub in Dao, a couple were in a room on the first floor. They were having sex in a big comfortable bed in the bedroom.
Wonderful! the man in bed thought. That doctor didn’t trick me!
He had been in hell the past few days. He couldn’t do anything with his girlfriend, who was a very attractive woman. Every time he was aroused, he experienced a sharp pain in his lower belly. It was torture to him.
“Are you OK?” His girlfriend had asked him many times. She was concerned about him since he was the person she was going to spend the rest of her life with.
“Fine, I’m fine!” He had repeatedly reassured his girlfriend there was nothing wrong with him.
Fortunately, Wang Yao didn’t trick him and had made him normal again. He lit a cigarette and leaned on his pillow to take a rest.
“You should stop smoking.” His girlfriend took the cigarette away. “Honey.”
“Oh yeah?” the man asked.
“Shall we get married?” his girlfriend asked.
“Sure,” the man replied.
“Really?” the woman excitedly asked.
“Of course,” the man said.
He hadn’t had a stable partner for many years. It was time for him to settle with a woman. His parents also wanted to have grandchildren. He knew he couldn’t stay single forever.
“Great!” His girlfriend was thrilled. She hugged him and gave him a big kiss.
“Let’s do it again,” the man said.
“No, stop!” His girlfriend pretended to resist him.
The room was full of love.
…
An unexpected visitor came to the village the next morning.
“Hello, what brings you here?” Wang Yao asked.

The visitor was Miao Sanding, a Feng Shui master. “Hello, Dr. Wang, sorry to bother you again.”
“What can I do for you?” Wang Yao asked.
“I want to discuss with you about something,” Miao Sanding said.
Wang Yao had done him a big favor last time by getting rid of the evil soul in Hongzhou. Miao Sanding would never forget it. He had been thinking of how to pay the favor back to Wang Yao. He neither had much money nor anything precious. The only thing he had was his Feng Shui knowledge.
It suddenly occurred to him one day that he sensed some deadly aura on Xishan Hill. So, he wanted to do something about it. He wanted to help Wang Yao get rid of the deadly aura. It was his way to pay the favor back.
“Please come in.” Wang Yao invited him into the clinic.
He had a good impression of Miao Sanding. He thought the man was a nice person. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have gone all the way to Hongzhou to help him.
Wang Yao made Miao Sanding a cup of tea in the clinic. After they had sat down, Miao Sanding told Wang Yao the purpose of his visit.
“I see. I would really appreciate it if you could help!” Wang Yao liked Miao Sanding even more after learning he wanted to help with the deadly places on Xishan Hill.
It was not common nowadays for people to remember a favor from others and pay it back.
“I want to know how you are going to get rid of the deadly aura,” Wang Yao said.
“I need to go there to have another look, and arrange something over there,” Miao Sanding said.
“OK, let’s go,” Wang Yao said.
As they were about to leave the clinic, an old patient came to see Wang Yao. The patient had a kyphotic posture. He looked miserable.
“What’s wrong with you?” Wang Yao asked.
“I have a bad back pain,” the old man said with a sigh.
He was in his 70s. His physical health had been declining.
“Please take a seat and let me take a look at you.” Wang Yao helped the old man sit down and took a good look at him. “I don’t think you should work in the field anymore.”
The old man suffered from chronic muscle strain in his lumbar area. He also had problems with his lumbar spine due to overworking.
The old man sighed. He didn’t want to continue working either. He was nearly 80 years old. However, his son had just bought a big apartment in the town center and had his second child. His daughter-in-law had resigned from her job since she had to take care of two young children. So, his son was the sole breadwinner of the family. He was employed by a company in town and worked really hard to support his family. He had become thinner and thinner due to the hard work.

Since the old man’s wife was in her 80s and in poor health, she couldn’t help with babysitting. Thus, he felt sorry for his son. He tried his best to help his son financially.
“Let me give you a massage. Please lie on your stomach for me,” Wang Yao said.
The old man laid on his stomach on the bed. Wang Yao started to give him a massage. The pain disappeared after five minutes. The old man had a warm feeling in his waist. He felt really comfortable. After 20 minutes, he not only felt more comfortable in his lower back, but he also felt stronger.
“Done,” Wang Yao said.
“Yao, you are fantastic!” the old man exclaimed. “How much should I pay you?”
The old man took out an envelope out of his pocket with shaking hands. He had some cash in it, but it was not much.
“You don’t need to pay me,” Wang Yao replied.
“No, that’s not right,” the old man said.
“That’s fine. It was just a massage,” Wang Yao said. “You need to rest as often as you can. Don’t go back to the field in such hot weather. I also noticed a problem with blood flow in your head. You don’t have sufficient blood flow. You must take good care of yourself.”
Since old man was nearly 80 years old, he was prone to sickness. He really shouldn’t continue to work in the field, especially in such hot weather. If he passed out in the field and no one was around, he would be in big trouble.
“OK, thank you very much.” The old man left the clinic.
It was sad that the old man had no one to rely on. Wang Yao slipped into deep thinking as he was watching the old man leaving.
“Nowadays so many old people have to offer their children financial support.” He turned to Miao sanding and said, “Let’s go.”
The two of them went to the two deadly places on Xishan hill.
“Hmm!” Miao Sanding felt something wrong before even reaching the top of Xishan Hill. He went all the way up with knitted brows. Wang Yao didn’t say anything. He just stood next to Miao Sanding quietly.
“Strange!” Miao Sanding walked around the two deadly places and the rest of the hill.
“What do you think?” Wang Yao asked.
“The two places are really strange,” Miao Sanding said. It was the first time he had come across places like these. “I don’t feel the two places were part of the hill. It’s like they were planted on the hill.”
“I found strange insects here before,” Wang Yao said. “Those were very poisonous and fierce insects.”
“Insects?” Miao Sanding asked with surprise. “Poisonous insects?”
“I’m not exactly sure,” Wang Yao said. “I haven’t come across many poisonous insects.”
“Maybe the aura here has something to do with those insects,” Miao Sanding said.
He walked around the two deadly places again while thinking about methods to get rid of the deadly aura.
“Shall we visit the other hills nearby?” he suggested.
Right next to Xishan Hill was Wang Yao’s Nanshan Hill. Of course, Nanshan Hill was much more alive.
“What a wonderful place!” Miao Sanding was very impressed.
Wang Yao just smiled. Nanshan Hill was a wonderful place because of the Spirit Gathering Battle Array.
Miao Sanding took a close look at Nanshan Hill. He looked over at Xishan Hill and started to think. He finally said, “Maybe we can move some aura from Nanshan hill to Xishan Hill.”
“Can you? How?” Wang Yao curiously asked.
“I need to set up a Feng Shui battle array,” Miao Sanding said. “Of course, it is just a plan. I’ll arrange something here to allow the aura to expand to Xishan hill fast.”
“Can we plant some trees in those areas?” Wang Yao asked.
“Yes, but we need to make sure those trees will survive,” Miao Sanding replied.
“I can make them survive,” Wang Yao said.
According to his experiments, he could basically identify the area where soil was poisoned. In addition, the bristle grasses and dandelions could resist the poison in the soil.
“That will be great,” Miao Sanding said.
They left Nanshan Hill. Miao Sanding said goodbye to Wang Yao. He had a basic idea now, so he just needed details on how to implement his plan. He still needed to think about it. He didn’t normally set up a Feng Shui battle array for such a purpose.

Parallels
Parallels are a constant in life. Our friends' lives often run parallel to ours; we share similar experiences or tastes- perhaps even both. Sometimes, however, opposites attract- and our lives run perpendicular. In that case, we are not attracted by similarities; rather, we are attracted to the differences in others. So, what happens when two parallels are broken apart? What might happen to them? Are they forever doomed to run alongside each other, never seeing one another, never meeting? Or, perhaps, might they be spun about? Could these lines that formerly ran alongside one another meet? Could they possibly be set perpendicular? Any feedback is welcome, so long as it is constructive. Also, you may not use any characters, ideas, places, or what have you that I present here without my explicit permission. A note: This is a story which I began over a year ago, but never got around to finishing- it feels about time to really get it going. Now, there are a couple of things about the story, and myself, that need to be said. First and foremost, there's a slow start, but by the third-fourth chapter things should be speeding up a bit. Secondly, in regards to release speed and/or word count per chapter, I make no promises- my schedule is fairly random, and in regards to word count, I will cut off any chapter at any point that feels appropriate to me- that may include cliffhangers, if necessary. I'm not trying to reach a specific word count, I am trying to create a cohesive story, with pseudo-appropriate chapter breaks. This means I will also not rush a half-baked release for the sake of getting a release out. Thirdly, I will make any edits, anywhere in the story and at any time, that strike me as necessary- typically being wording and/or formatting changes, but I may also decide to change major plot points- in that case I would put a notification in the next chapter released. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Christian; this story is intended to at least moderately reflect those values. So, if you particularly dislike any of these things, feel free to look elsewhere, and don't let the door hit you on the way out. God bless, friends.

Founding of Humanity - Animalist
This is the dawn of the age of mankind. It is time to push back the wilderness and establish the kingdoms and empires that will govern this land. Players, the elect of the gods, are now coming to help humanity fight back. The dark ages are ended, and now is the time to lay the foundation! Now is the time to establish civilization! This is the Founding of Humanity! I am building this world for my own amusement, releases are not on any kind of schedule. I got to thinking "what if a beast tamer was changed by what they tamed" and this game mechanic sprung to mind. I do not know where this story is going. The main character is becoming a skill hoarder, as that is an advantage of the class design. The game system in this story is insipred by Log Horizon and Sword Art Online, where you get a skill and that is the skill, instead of getting a skill and then leveling it through tiers and rankings.
