Chapter 741: A Lot of Rules
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“You don’t think there would be good doctors in small villages?” Li Shengrong coldly asked.
“Oh, I don’t mean that,” Hou Shida’s mother said.
“Look, you have to have the right attitude,” Li Shengrong said. “You are asking someone a big favor. The young doctor in the village has a lot of rules.”
“So, is he the person who treated Mr. Guo and Xiaoxue?” Hou Shida’s mother just realized who Li Shengrong was talking about.
Beijing was a big place, but some social circles were really small. There were only a handful of prestigious families like the Su and Guo families. Those prestigious families in Beijing knew about Wang Yao. Some of them really wanted to be introduced to the young and amazing doctor. However, it wasn’t that easy. After all, they had to go through the Su and Guo families, who were both extremely powerful.
“Yes,” Li Shengrong said. “It will be up to him to decide whether he is happy to treat your son or not.”
After Li Shengrong returned home from the hospital, he took out a small pack of tea leaves. He left to visit Chen Zhouchuan with the pack of tea leaves.
Chen Zhouchuan was listening to Peking Opera in his courtyard.
“Yo, you are not playing chess,” Li Shengrong said.
“What brings you here?” Chen Zhouchuan coldly asked.
“Nothing big. I just want to thank you for treating Hou Shida,” Li Shengrong said as he set the pack of tea leaves on the table.
“Humph.” Chen Zhouchuan didn’t say much.
“Have some tea.” His wife came out with a pot of tea.
“Thank you,” Li Shengrong said. The tea smelled nice. “Stop being upset. I know that kid is naughty, but he is a member of my family. I can’t watch him dying.”
“He’s not your grandson,” Chen Zhouchuan replied.
“I know, but he’s still family,” Li Shengrong said.
“I can’t help him anyway, so find someone else,” Chen Zhouchuan said.
“I know you can’t cure him, and neither can I,” Li Shengrong said. “I’ve asked his mother to take him somewhere else. You don’t need to worry about him anymore. I’ve showed him a way, but I don’t know what will happen to him.”
“Did you ask his mother to take him to Wang Yao?” Chen Zhouchuan sat up.
“You are right,” Li Shengrong replied. “That young doctor is more capable than us. People we can’t do anything for might be able to get cured by him.”

“You are just more and more shameless!” Chen Zhouchuan complained.
“Hey, why am I shameless?” Li Shengrong unpleasantly asked. “I came here to give you some nice tea. But, look at you. I don’t owe you anything.”
“It’s OK for you to ask me to see Hou Shida, but why would you bother Dr. Wang? Do you remember what he said before he left?” Chen Zhouchuan asked.
Li Shengrong didn’t know what to say.
“You know Hou Shida is a nasty piece of work. Go ask around how many girls have been destroyed by him. If he wasn’t the heir of a prestigious family, he would have ended up in jail long time ago or beaten to death.” Chen Zhouchuan was growing increasingly angry. “Go away, I don’t want to see you.”
“What happened between you two?” Chen Zhouchuan’s wife stepped in. She patted her husband’s shoulder gently. “What upset you?”
“Nothing, go back to your room,” Chen Zhouchuan said.
“Is your wife not well?” Li Shengrong asked after Chen Zhouchuan’s wife had gone back into the house.
“Yeah, she hasn’t been sleeping well,” Chen Zhouchuan said.
“Did you prescribe her any herbal formula?” Li Shengrong asked.
“I did, but it didn’t seem to work.” Chen Zhouchuan’s voice became softer when mentioning his wife.
“Would you like me to take a look at her?” Li Shengrong asked.
“No, thanks,” Chen Zhouchuan said. “I plan to travel around with her when it becomes cooler.”
“Where are you going?” Li Shengrong asked.
“Actually, I want to take her to see Dr. Wang,” Chen Zhouchuan said.
“That’s a good idea,” Li Shengrong replied.
Chen Zhouchuan was no longer angry after chatting with Li Shengrong for a while. After all, they had known each other for more than 30 years. Plus, they were both Traditional Chinese Medical Practitioners. They knew each other well and talked about almost everything. Of course, they also argued with each other quite often. As they got older, their tempers became more weird. Sometimes they were like little children.
“Do you wanna have a drink at my place tonight?” Li Shengrong asked.
“No, thanks. We can go to the place we always go,” Chen Zhouchuan replied.
“OK, let’s go,” Li Shengrong said.
…
Wang Yao had a visitor in his clinic. It was Zhen Weijun.
The location of Nanshan Pharmaceutical Company had been decided, and the building had been designed. They had also picked a date to start construction.

Since the Zhen and Sun families were in charge of the construction, they were building the factory quickly. Zhen Weijun came to visit Wang Yao because he was on a business trip in Qi province.
“Dr. Wang, the construction of the main building of the factory will be completed by the end of the year,” Zhen Weijun said. “We anticipate the production line will start at about May 1 of next year.”
“That sounds great,” Wang Yao said.
When they started the company, different people were allocated with different tasks. The Zhen family was in charge of the legal requirements for establishing a pharmaceutical company, staff management, and future sales. Wang Yao was only in charge of the medication production and technique support.
“Right, I’ve got this for you.” Wang Yao took out a small wooden board, which was the pharmacist’s order, and gave it to Zhen Weijun.
“What is this?” Zhen Weijun asked.
“It’s the pharmacist’s order,” Wang Yao replied. “It means I’ll try my best to treat a person for you.”
“Thank you!” Zhen Weijun put the wooden board away with great care since it was very precious.
A moment later, Wang Yao had a patient, so Zhen Weijun left the clinic.
“The pharmacist’s order!” Zhen Weijun took out the wooden board and had a close look at it after he returned to his car. “This is going to be very useful.”
He thought maybe Wang Yao didn’t even realize himself how meaningful and important his wooden boards to those who had them. Given his capability, he should be able to cure someone with cancer!
In late afternoon, two more vehicles came to the village. Both vehicles carried a lot of trees.
“Hello, Dr. Wang,” Li Shiyu said.
“Hello, thank you,” Wang Yao said.
“You are welcome. Actually, I should thank you,” Li Shiyu replied with a smile.
Wang Yao had purchased a lot of trees in the last few months. It had provided significant income for him.
“Are you going to sell the trees after a few years?” Li Shiyu asked.
“No, I won’t see them that way,” Wang Yao replied.
“OK, it’s none of my business anyway,” Li Shiyu said. “By the way, are you available tomorrow?”
“Yeah, why?” Wang Yao asked.
“My mom has been bad headaches the past few days,” Li Shiyu said. “The doctors from the hospital couldn’t tell what is wrong with her. I want to bring her to your clinic.”
“No problem, bring her in the morning,” Wang Yao said.
“Sure, thanks,” Li Shiyu said.
After Li Shiyu left, Wang Yao traveled between the top and foot of Nanshan Hill, carrying all the trees. It didn’t take him long to do it.
Gotta plant some trees again, Wang Yao thought.
San Xian jumped around the trees excitedly and wagged his tail. He seemed to be keen about the trees. Or, perhaps it was because of Wang Yao or Nanshan Hill.
Wang Yao started to plant trees early the next morning before it was light. He dug holes in the ground, planted trees, and watered trees. San Xian and Da Xia helped him.
He didn’t go to his clinic in the morning. He notified his patients of this on Weibo. However, he still had visitors in the morning. It was a man in his 30s.
“What’s going on? No one is here?” The man was from Beijing. Hou Shida’s mother had asked him to come to the clinic. “Hmm!”
He didn’t know Wang Yao put notices on Weibo, so he just waited outside the clinic. Although it was cooler in the village than in the town center, it was still quite hot at that time of the day. He stood under the two trees outside the clinic waiting, checking his watch from time to time.
“How come the doctor is still not here now?” the man murmured.
It took him a while to grab someone from the village to ask what was going on.
“Are you looking for Wang Yao?” the villager asked “He won’t be coming to the clinic today. You can follow him on Weibo. He notifies people of his absence on Weibo.”
“What? A village doctor has Weibo?” The man logged into his Weibo and found Wang Yao’s account. He discovered that Wang Yao wouldn’t be in the clinic in the morning. “What should I do?”
He had traveled all the way from Beijing to Lianshan. Hou Shida’s mother told him that he had to convince Dr. Wang to treat her son. He could wait, but Hou Shida couldn’t wait.
Maybe I should visit his home, the man thought.
He asked another villager where Wang Yao lived. The villager told him Wang Yao lived in the village, but he didn’t like people bothering his parents. He wouldn’t see anyone who went to his house.
“Seriously? What a weird person!” The man was speechless. Even the best doctors in Beijing didn’t have such strange rules.
