Chapter 713: It was Quiet on Nanshan Hill at Night
In the village, when it was close to dusk, a man came to Wang Yao’s clinic while Wang Yao was reading a book.
“Hi, you look good,” Wang Yao said.
“Thanks for your help,” Zhen Weijun said. He had two boxes in his hands. “I’ve just been to Central China and brought some tea for you.”
“Thank you,” Wang Yao said.
The two boxes looked very common, but he knew the tea was expensive.
“The draft of the pharmaceutical factory has been completed. The construction will have two stages. Could you please take a look?” Zhen Weijun showed the draft to Wang Yao.
The design was completed with high quality. Whoever who did the draft must have been an expert.
“When will the construction start?” Wang Yao asked.
“On June 8 of the Lunar calendar, a good day to start construction,” Zhen Weijun said.
“Great,” Wang Yao said.
He took a close look at the design sketch.
Hmm?
“There is a pond here.” He pointed at a small pond in the picture.
“Yes,” Zhen Weijun said.
“It is not suitable to have a pond there,” Wang Yao said.
“I see. How would you like to change it? Or, should we just remove it?” Zhen Weijun asked.
“Let’s wait until the construction starts,” Wang Yao said.
The overall design didn’t have any problems. However, as he had profound knowledge of battle arrays, he thought the pond would destroy the harmony of the whole design. His first impression was that the position of the pond was weird. He needed to have a good think about it before making any changes, and he wanted to visit the construction site first.
“OK, I see,” Zhen Weijun said.
“I’ve also made a decision on our first product, the nurturing soup,” Wang Yao said.
He had thought about it for a long time. He eventually decided to make the nurturing soup his first product after the pharmaceutical factory was established. He planned to produce a large amount of it for the public. The reason was simple. Almost everyone could benefit from the nurturing soup, which could be used to treat various conditions. In addition, the soup had a gentle nature and was very effective.
“Is there anything you want me to offer?” Wang Yao asked.
“Do you want to make herbal pills or powder?” Zhen Weijun asked.

“Herbal powder,” Wang Yao said. It was easier to make herbal powder. He told Zhen Weijun all the components and the effect of the nurturing soup.
“OK,” Zhen Weijun said.
He didn’t linger in Wang Yao’s clinic for long and left a moment later.
Zhong Liuchuan visited Wang Yao after dinner. He also didn’t stay for long.
Wang Yao didn’t return to Nanshan Hill that night.
“You are not going back to Nanshan Hill tonight?” Zhang Xiuying asked. She was used to her son being away at night.
“No. I’ll stay at home tonight,” Wang Yao said.
He hadn’t spent the night on Nanshan Hill in a few days because he was worried about his parents.
He chatted and watched TV with his parents until around 9 p.m. He went back to his room to read for a while before going to sleep.
“Do you think Yao is hiding something from us?” Zhang Xiuying asked when she was lying on the bed.
“He’s old enough to mind his own business. Don’t worry about him. Time to sleep,” Wang Fenghua said.
“How can you be so calm?” Zhang Xiuying asked.
The river at the north of the village was running quietly, making gurgling sound. A person suddenly appeared at the bank of the river. He stood there quietly for a while before disappearing again in the dark.
Woof! Woof! A dog suddenly started to bark.
It started to become windy The leaves on the hill were making a rustling sound.
A person was walking alone on a narrow path of Dongshan Hill. It was very quiet on Dongshan Hill during the day, and even quieter at night. One could only hear the sound of wind and insects.
“It is so quiet here,” the man said with a sigh. He walked extremely fast. It was as if he could see everything well in the dark.
A moment later, he stopped and looked toward the village. It was completely dark in the village. All the households had their turned lights off.
Here I am. Hmm!
His body suddenly became rigid. It was as if it was stimulated by something, like an open arc or hunting leopard.
A gust of wind passed him. He moved rapidly and turned around. He took something out of his pocket at waist. Puff! Puff! Two flares crossed the air with two rumbling sounds.
“Humph!” The man hiding behind a tree tried to regulate his breath.

Pat! Pat! His arm was bleeding. The blood dropped onto the ground and grass. He was too careless. He had been injured during their first encounter.
Actually, he couldn’t blame himself. No one would expect to bump into another assassin in such a small village. In addition, the assassin had been waiting for him to jump into the trap. He really didn’t expect that. He was lucky enough to get away from one of the two gunshots.
Wow, he got away! He must be a well-trained killer. Zhong Liuchuan, who was hiding in the dark, was shocked but didn’t move. He was just waiting for his opponent to make a mistake.
Rustling! He heard footsteps, which sounded very obvious in such a quiet night among the hills.
Another person’s coming?
They were both surprised.
“Good evening,” said the person, as if he was speaking right next to their ears.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Three flashes appeared in the dark.
Whiz!
One of the three people flew out and banged heavily on an old chestnut tree. It was so loud and heavy that the trunk of the tree shook fiercely.
The young man slid down from the trunk of the tree and passed out. He felt pain all over his body.
Sen felt he like he was hit by a car going full speed. He banged onto the tree. He had a similar experience before. It was really an unpleasant experience. He swore to himself that he would never have the same experience again. However, unexpectedly, he experienced pain again in the same village.
It wasn’t a car hitting him this time. It was a person. Sen had no idea how could a person have so much strength.
His opponent was a Kung Fu master. He just realized he was facing a true master. It was already hard enough to deal with one enemy. Now, he had two.
Maybe I will die in this place. He suddenly had a lot on his mind. Hmm?
A shadow of person flashed in front of him. He couldn’t believe his opponent came in front of him. It wasn’t a wise move.
“Be careful, Dr. Wang,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
Sen was about 40 degrees opposite Wang Yao. He was lying still on the ground, but he suddenly moved. He lifted his hand and pulled the trigger. Bang! Bang! Two flashes.
The person in front of him suddenly disappeared.
This is not possible, Sen thought. People can’t move faster than bullets.
No one would believe it. It only happened in novels and movies that a person could duck from bullets.
However, Wang Yao disappeared at the same time Sen pulled the trigger. In theory, a person’s vision could delay sometimes, but that should be within one second.
Wang Yao got away from the bullets because he was either faster than bullets or anticipated that Sen would shoot at him. Whatever happened indicated that Wang Yao was scarily capable.
Wang Yao suddenly appeared in front of Sen again. Sen tried to lift his hand, but he couldn’t. It was as if he was being pressed by a mountain. Let alone lifting his hand, he couldn’t even breathe properly.
What the hell is going on?!
The gun dropped to the ground. Sen lost his ability to fight back. He heard the other person approaching.
“Dr. Wang, are you alright?” Zhong Liuchuan asked.
“I’m fine,” Wang Yao said.
The motionless Sen was not the only person in shock. Zhong Liuchuan was also shocked by Wang Yao’s action. He witnessed everything. Wang Yao suddenly appeared in front of Sen and threw him out. He then instantly disappeared when Sen shoot at him and reappeared a second later like he could perform instant transfer.
Zhong Liuchuan and Sen had no idea what Wang Yao was doing. They presumed Wang Yao was like a superman, as well as a Kung Fu master. They realized that he wasn’t just an exceptional doctor. He was also an exceptional Kung Fu master.
“Shall we take him somewhere quiet?” Wang Yao suggested.
“Sure, Dr. Wang,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
Although the village was not big and there were few houses, it was not hard to find a vacant one.
Wang Yao and Zhong Liuchuan took the assassin into an empty house. Wang Yao made him sit still.
“It’s him,” Zhong Liuchuan said after he could see the person’s face clearly.
“You know him?” Wang Yao asked.
“Yes. He is a famous killer. He always manages to get the job done. I didn’t expect them to hire him to kill you,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“Has he killed anyone?” Wang Yao asked.
“Yeah, more than one,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“Do you have any evidence?” Wang Yao asked.
Zhong Liuchuan shook his head. Sometimes, even if one knew a fact, one didn’t have the evidence to prove it.

When everything turns into a zero sum game of dog eat dog, they'll find that The Hunter is an all too willing participant, but he will soon find out that he isn't the only player of this game. First story I'm posting and I don't really have a cool synopsis, sorry everyone, but this story is just another LitRPG apocalypse. I guess the only difference is that the main character isn't a hero. He's not here to save the world, he's not here to make friends, and he's definitely not here to save everyone. He's probably what the villains in other similar stories would be actually. Just writing for fun, advice or constructive critism is welcomed, writing style prone to change. Warning: Incredible amounts of poor grammar, Gore, Profanities, Traumatizing content, and cliches(I plan to have multiple main characters, maybe this is too ambitious for my poor skills, but it seems like it would be fun to try, the other MCs won't show up until later on.) The cover image isn't mine I just found it online. It's a piece by Stephanie Frey This takes inspiration from a lot of great stories on here, but I find the beginning to be most similar to Blood Lust by DefinitelyNotJormlung. Starcraft and Warhammer 40k and survival world rpg by S_Conary will also influenced this (at least that's my plan if I ever get that far or finish this) Also please stay with me until chapter 3. I suck at starting stories, but have been told I get better as I'm further along.
