Chapter 679: Repent! Scumbags!
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“No problem, leave it to me,” Zhang Peng said.
Wang Yao paid his lawyer a certain fee annually. He had established a good working relationship with Zhang Peng. After representing Wang Yao a few times in the past, Zhang Peng found he always made payment promptly. He was very happy to keep Wang Yao as an important client.
“I want to see a doctor!” Cao Zizhen was panicking in the interview room. His ears were still humming and bleeding. He was also bleeding from his nose. His head was swelling badly.
“What’s wrong with you?” the police officer asked.
“I’m sick. Can’t you see I’m bleeding?” Cao Zizhen shouted.
“Yeah, I can see you are bleeding in your nose. Here you go, put some tissue into your nose,” the police officer said.
The police officer became angry as soon as he heard these people had come to blackmail Wang Yao. He and Wang Yao were from the same village, so he subconsciously stood on Wang Yao’s side. In addition, he had taken his relative to Wang Yao’s clinic the other day. Wang Yao cured his relative without charging a lot of fee. Almost all the people in the village wanted to be friendly with Wang Yao, in case they needed to go to his clinic.
Wait! Wang Yao suddenly thought about something. He whispered a few words into Pan Jun’s ear. Pan Jun immediately left the police station.
A moment later, Wang Yao’s parents came to the police station in a hurry once they heard their son had been taken by the policeman.
“Mom, Dad, why do you come here?” Wang Yao asked. I’m fine.”
“I heard someone died in your clinic. Is it true?” Zhang Xiuying asked.
“Yes, but it was a trap. Someone wants to blackmail me. I’ve contacted my lawyer,” Wang Yao said.
“I see,” Zhang Xiuying said.
She and Wang Fenghua were still very worried.
At the end of the day, the final decision rested with the court. The people who had criminal history were detained by the police officers. None of them cared about what happened to the old man’s body, which was still lying in the clinic.
Pan Jun stayed with Wang Yao while he dealt dealing with the issue.
“What should we do about the old man’s body?” Pan Jun asked. They couldn’t leave the body in the clinic for too long. “How ridiculous!”
“Where is the video footage?” Wang Yao asked.
“I’ve saved it on the computer. The old man’s blood has been taken,” Pan Jun said.

“Good,” Wang Yao said.
He asked Pan Jun to do two things for him. One was to extract some of the blood from the old man’s body for testing. The other was to save a copy of the CCTV footage. He didn’t think the whole thing was over.
“What about the body?” Pan Jun asked.
“Send it to the morgue,” Wang Yao said.
“Not at this time of the day,” Pan Jun said.
After having gone in and out of the police station, it was now evening. The morgue has closed.
No one had the guts to pick up a dead man’s body at night when the Yin energy reached the peak, unless he had no fear of death.
“I’ll arrange it tomorrow,” Pan Jun said.
He worked in the hospital, so he knew people working in the morgue.
“OK,” Wang Yao said. “Thank you so much for helping me today.”
“It’s not a problem. As your student, it is my obligation to help you,” Pan Jun said.
“Would you like to have dinner together?” Wang Yao asked.
“No, thanks. I promised my son to have a walk in the park after dinner,” Pan Jun said.
“OK, drive safely,” Wang Yao said.
“Sure, call me if you need me,” Pan Jun said. “By the way, are you really gonna leave the body here for the whole night? It’s a dead man’s body!”
“Haha, what is there to be scared of? He’s dead,” Wang Yao said.
“It’s not lucky,” Pan Jun said.
“I’ll be fine,” Wang Yao said with a smile as he shook his hand.
He thought a dead man deserved basic respect. He was going to leave the old man in peace in his clinic for the night. After all, his son was still under investigation in the police station.
Wang Yao locked the door and left his clinic. He could see his parents were still worried after he arrived at home.
“Mom, Dad, you don’t need to worry about me. It was just a one-off thing,” Wang Yao said.
“OK, as long as you are fine,” Zhang Xiuying said.
Wang Yao didn’t say much, and his parents asked no more questions.
That night, Wang Yao thought a lot when he was by himself on Nanshan Hill.
The old man’s body was still lying quietly in his clinic. He was only 53 years old. He probably had never enjoyed his life because he had to work hard for his family, especially his son. He probably didn’t expect to end up like he did. The biggest mistake he made in his life was having such a son and failing to educate him properly.

It was his fault as a father who failed to teach his son to respect him. It was too late to regret.
The night passed without any issues. The next morning, Pan Jun arrived at the clinic very early, followed by a vehicle from the morgue. The people from the morgue efficiently took away the old man’s body.
Pan Jun asked a favor from a person from the morgue, who arranged a vehicle to remove the body before he started to work. However, some villagers still saw the vehicle. In addition to what had happened the previous day, people started to gossip again in the village. Fortunately, the biggest gossipers had moved to town, so the gossip didn’t affect Wang Yao and his family too much.
“Dr. Wang, let us know if there is anything we can help with.” Zheng Weijun and Sun Yunsheng also came along in the morning.
“I will, thank you,” Wang Yao said.
They didn’t stay for long and only chatted with Wang Yao for a short while.
Wang Yao didn’t see any patients in the morning. He had some errands to run.
He soon received a phone call from the police station. The people who had tried to blackmail Wang Yao would be released in the morning due to lack of evidence. It was not the first time for them to blackmail people. The guys wouldn’t release any information. It seemed they were not afraid of anyone.
“We are finally out of here! Err!” one of them said.
“Boss, what’s wrong with us?” another one asked. “Err!”
They had started burping nonstop since they entered the police station, no matter if they sat down, stood up, or were on the toilet. They kept burping when they were eating, drinking, and sleeping. They couldn’t sleep the whole night, so they all seemed tired and sleepy.
“Do you think that doctor did something to us?” one of the guys asked.
“What? He didn’t touch us at all,” the leader of the group said.
“Meng! Meng!” cried the well-dressed young man, whose name was Cao Zizhen.
“What’s wrong with you?” Meng asked.
“Take me to the hospital! Quickly!” As Cao Zizhen was speaking, he started to bleed again from his nose and ears.
“What the hell is going on with you?” Meng asked.
“I don’t know! Be quick! Take me to the hospital! I didn’t say anything to the policemen yesterday!” Cao Zizhen cried.
“Shut up! Fine, I’ll take you to the hospital, but not here,” Meng said “People will talk. What if someone figures us out?”
“What about Uncle Aiguo? He is still lying there,” another guy said.
“Leave him there. This is not over. Let’s go,” Meng said.
After walking a few steps, they saw a person in front of them. The person was looking at them coldly.
“You!” Cao Zizhen shouted.
“Did you guys poison the old man to death?” Wang Yao asked.
“What? It is you who killed him! You…” Meng said.
“Shut up!” Wang Yao pointed at Meng, who suddenly couldn’t speak.
It was as if his throat was held by an invisible hand. He wanted to speak but couldn’t. He was desperate and started to scratch himself.
“What’s happening to you?” Cao Zizhen asked. He turned to Wang Yao. “What did you do to him?”
“You killed your own father! Damn you,” Wang Yao said.
He hit out toward Cao Zizhen, whose body shook slightly. Cao Zizhen didn’t feel pain or anything.
“What… What do you really want from us?” Cao Zizhen asked.
These guys had done scamming, blackmailing, kidnapping children, and fraud all over China. All of them were scumbags who had committed a number of crimes. They had all done bad things, yet they were completely shocked by Wang Yao, a harmless-looking young man. Maybe it was their destiny to come across Wang Yao.
Wang Yao hopped and moved like a gust of wind. The men felt like they were patted by someone and that something had entered their body.
“What did you do to us?” Cao Zizhen asked.
“I think you all should start to repent,” Wang Yao said as he turned around and left, leaving the men standing there like idiots.
A gust of wind passed. Every one of the men suddenly felt cold all over their bodies.
“Boss, what did he do to us?” one of those guys asked.
“Damn it,” Meng said. “What do you think he could do? Don’t panic.”
“Exactly, what could he do to us? We’ll get him to pay,” another guy said.
They had traveled all over China and encountered various troubles. They had been beaten and stabbed by people. They all survived.
“Let’s go have a drink,” Meng suggested.
“Let’s go,” another guy said.
“Boss, can you please take me to the hospital first?” Cao Zizhen begged.
“Don’t panic, I’ll take you to the hospital after the drink. You won’t die,” Meng said.
“Well…” Cao Zizhen was reluctant to believe him.
“Let’s go. Stop whining. You’ll still need to prove yourself,” Meng said.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

The Wild Touch
The world of Delmathar has many conflicts and plots that span over the whole world and even into the war torn oceans. That’s not even taking into account that the world is a candidate in the Realm wars… but that’s a story for another day. Instead we will follow the story of how a goddess’s botched attempt of using a weak earth soul to make powerful Grafter for her mother, ends up empowering an unsuspecting little boy. The boy who is called Nosal Brownwhisker, who happens to be a peaceful little buttonless-shirt loving little Capyban. And as the Brownwhisker family tries to juggle their everyday lives on their monster ranch and hiding little Nosal’s secret, more and more developments keep popping up in the village of Pancreedy that makes life more.. interesting. Author’s notes:This is my first fiction and I understand it will suck. Hopefully you will find it to be enjoyable enough to hang around. There’s not going to be any epic world-ending fights or any stuff like that, just some shenanigans generally with the story progressing very slowly as it changes from many viewpoints. The world of Delmathar may seem funky for now so I will promise a glossary every 15 chapters. The wild touch will be updated at least twice a week, with me having no backlog of chapters. So if I get mobbed at work or get sick I will let you know in my notes on a short chapter. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for the people who support me, give me encouragement and pointers.
