Chapter 446: Taking a Trip Far Away from Home for Peace of MindTranslator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“Maybe you can borrow money from someone you know. I’m guessing you don’t want to be put in a rehabilitation center,” said the overweight young man.
“Of course I don’t want to,” said the skinny young man.
“Then find a way to get the money,” said the overweight young man.
. . .
The three drug addicts made Wang Yao think a lot.
They were only a few years younger than him. In fact, he really wanted to help them. Being forced to get clean in a rehabilitation center and to receive treatment in his clinic were totally different. The two ways would have vastly different impacts on their lives in the future.
Hopefully they’ll let their family know.
Wang Yao needed their parents’ support to treat them.
. . .
The next morning, Wang Yao saw the same car parking outside his clinic as soon as he came down from Nanshan Hill.
The door of the car was opened, and the three young drug addicts got out of the car.
“Morning, Dr. Wang,” said the skinny young man.
“Morning, you guys are here early,” said Wang Yao.
“Well, we…” said the skinny young man hesitantly.
“Have you made up your minds?” asked Wang Yao.
“Yes,” said the skinny young man.
“Let’s talk inside,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay,” said the skinny young man.
Wang Yao opened the door of this clinic and led them into the clinic.
“Have you all talked to your family about it?” asked Wang Yao.
“Look, Dr. Wang, how much do you want us to pay you?” said the skinny young man, smiling.
“What do you mean?” asked Wang Yao.
“Is 10 thousand yuan enough?” asked the skinny young man.
Wang Yao laughed.
“Not enough? How about 20 thousand?” asked the skinny young man. “Or 30 thousand? How about 50 thousand?”
“It’s clear that you haven’t told you family,” said Wang Yao.
“Look, Dr. Wang, we come with cash,” said the skinny young man.
Pah! He threw a stack of cash straight onto the table, as if he didn’t care about the money at all.
“Is this enough?” He stared at Wang Yao. He felt he was being so generous, like a hero in those movies and novels.
“Hey, why are you looking at me that way?” He found the way Wang Yao looked at him was weird, as if he was an idiot.
These stupid youngsters, with their IQ and sensibilities. It’s probably it’s better for them to go to a rehabilitation center.

“I think you all should leave now,” said Wang Yao as he shook his hand.
What? What’s going on? This doctor is so unpredictable! The three young people were surprised.
“Dr. Wang, tell us how much you want,” said the overweight young man.
“Leave!” shouted Wang Yao, making the windows shake.
“Oh my god!” The three young people were terrified. They grabbed the money from the table and escaped from the clinic.
Such a waste of time! thought Wang Yao.
He went home after the three drug addicts had left the clinic. He was going to leave for Qinzhou today. He had made arrangements with his friends.
“What? You are leaving today?” asked Zhang Xiuying.
“Yeah, I’ve told you yesterday that we need to take a trip to Jia County to send some stuff to the kids there,” said Wang Yao.
“Oh, to send some winter clothes and stationery to them, right?” Zhang Xiuying now remembered that her son had mentioned it yesterday. She and Wang Fenghua agreed for him to go without thinking. She also wanted to donate some money to the kids herself.
“Go and help those kids, leave everything here to me and your dad,” said Zhang Xiuying.
“Okay,” said Wang Yao.
He drove to Lianshan town center to meet with Tian Yuantu, Wang Mingbao, Wei Hai, and Li Maoshuang. Five of them left for Qinzhou in two vehicles: one belonged to Wang Yao, the other belonged to Wei Hai.
“Miss Han, I’m coming!” said Wang Mingbao.
The five of them chatted and laughed on the way to Qinzhou in two vehicles.
This trip was for charity.
Tian Yuantu called the manager of the company that offered the winter clothes for the kids in the village on the way.
After a whole day of driving, they arrived at Bingzhou in the Qinzhou Province. Bingzhou was not too far from Jia County. They decided to stay at Bingzhou overnight, then head to Jia County the next day.
Bingzhou was a city with a very long history.
It was very cold in the evening, but Wang Yao and his friends were still keen to walk around the city.
“Hmmm. This city has a sense of antiquity, which is very different from modern cities like Haiqu. Haiqu only has a history of several decades,” said Wei Hai.
They didn’t return to the hotel until late evening.
. . .
The next day, Tian Yuantu contacted the garment company again. The company sent their staff and the photographer to Bingzhou. They headed to Jia County together with Wang Yao and his friends.

“Look, they all seem to be rich. Look at their cars. Land Rover, Touareg. . . both are imported SUVs,” said a staff member from the garment company.
“Yes, I admire them. They are not only rich but also kind, unlike wealthy people who don’t contribute anything to the society after making their dirty money.”
Three vehicles teamed up to head to Jia County, then entered the village.
The construction of the road from Jia County to the village had only just started. After all, the road was frozen in winter, so the builders had to stop working. The vehicles entered the village through the old road, which was quite uneven.
“Gee, the road is terrible, we should have come in their cars,” said the photographer.
It took them nearly two hours to arrive at the village through the bumpy road.
“Dr. Wang!”
The villagers were very glad to see Wang Yao and his friends. They all invited Wang Yao to their houses for a cup of tea.
“Is he a doctor?” The staff members from the garment company were all surprised.
It was obvious that Wang Yao was very popular in this villager. After talking to a few villagers, they found out that Wang Yao had saved a lot of people in the village.
The contagious disease!
They immediately thought about the quarantine the village had undergone in recently.
“Hello, Dr. Wang, welcome back!” The secretary of the village was very glad to see Wang Yao. It made him even happier when he found that Wang Yao and his friends came to offer the children winter clothes and stationery.
“Thank you so much, Dr. Wang!” said the secretary.
Wang Yao and his team went to the school to distribute the clothes and stationery. The students were thrilled. The clothes were brand new and were from a famous domestic brand. The students had never worn such pretty clothes at school. Normally, they only got a chance to wear pretty clothes during the Chinese New Year.
“Thank you, Uncle Wang,” said the students.
“You are welcome,” said Wang Yao, smiling.
The staff members from the garment company and the photographer also became emotional.
They were touched by these innocent kids.
“These kids need help!” said the photographer.
The team leader from the garment company decided to report to his superior of what he had witnessed in the village. He wanted to convince the director of the company to provide ongoing support to the school, to see if they could donate clothes to the kids at least twice a year.
They were a bit tired after a busy morning, but they were glad.
Wang Yao did a routine health check for the students. He didn’t finish until the end of the school day.
“Let’s call it a day. We’ll stay here for a few days. I’ll come back tomorrow,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay,” said the teacher.
They turned down the secretary’s invitation to stay in Jia County. Instead, they checked in a hotel in a village nearby, which was not as well-equipped as the ones in Jia County.
“I think I have learned a lot today,” said Wei Hai during dinner.
“Hmmm, I didn’t expect the place to be so poor,” said Li Maoshuang.
“Come, let’s get some food,” said Wang Mingbao.
They went to a small local restaurant and ordered some dishes and wine. The dishes were not tasty. The wine was from a local cellar, which tasted awful. However, Wang Yao and his four friends were still in good mood. They were happy for what they had done today. They drank a lot, including Wang Yao.
They had a good sleep that night.
They felt at ease.
. . .
The next day, Wang Yao spent the whole day providing free routine health checks to the students. He also provided treatment to a few sick kids.
Wang Mingbao spent most of his time with Miss Han. They seemed to get closer.
Wei Hai, Tian Yuantu, and Li Maoshuang walked around the village. They visited the tomb. Although the public were still not allowed to go into the tomb, they could see things from outside. At the same time, the villagers told them about how Wang Yao helped them during the outbreak of a contagious disease.
“Are you leaving today?” asked the secretary.
“Yes,” said Wang Yao.
“Can you stay for a few more days?” asked the secretary.
“No, we’ve done what we came to do. We’ve got other things to do,” said Wang Yao.
The secretary of the village tried his best to keep Wang Yao and his friends for a few more days.
“Well, at least come back when you have time,” said the secretary.
“We will,” said Wang Yao.
Wang Mingbao didn’t leave. Wei Hai left his Land Rover to Wang Mingbao. He and the rest of them went back to Lianshan in Wang Yao’s vehicle, which was filled with presents from the villagers.
