Chapter 341: Thrombosis
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“I want to buy a house in Haiqu,” said Su Changhe.
“Good idea. Haiqu is a beautiful place where you feel relaxed. It’s an ideal place to buy a holiday house,” said Wei Hai with a smile.
He showed Su Changhe a few boutique residential areas. The local government of Haiqu tried to attract capable and talented people in recent years. They would subsidize the cost of property if those people wanted to buy a property in Haiqu. Su Changhe was definitely among those people who Haiqu local government wanted to attract.
“The houses here are so cheap!” said Su Changhe after asking for the prices. Of course, the houses in Haiqu was much cheaper than the houses in Beijing. The money spent on a tidy unit in Beijing could buy a large apartment of over a hundred square meters.
Wei Hai drove Su Changhe around Haiqu to check out two boutique residential areas. Then he drove him to the local government to get information on the policy related to property buyers. People like Su Changhe would get a subsidy when purchasing a property in Haiqu. If he was to settle down or work in Haiqu, the local government could provide the maximum subsidy. In fact, if Su Changhe was willing to work in the Haiqu People’s Hospital, they would probably be happy to give him property for free.
“Thank you for going through the trouble,” said Su Changhe.
“You are welcome,” said Wei Hai with a smile.
Su Changhe invited Wei Hai for dinner to express his gratitude, but Wei Hai kindly refused.
“By the way, does Dr. Wang have any hobbies?” asked Su Changhe.
“Him?” Wei Hai thought for a while.
“Well, he likes everything related to medicine, such as medical books, herb cabinet that sort of things. Otherwise, he spent most of this time in that village. He didn’t like socializing with people. He’s like a recluse. Oh, he likes green tea,” said Wei Hai.
“Green tea?” said Su Changhe.
“Yes,” said Wei Hai.
“I see, thank you,” said Su Changhe.
Wei Hai left after he had taken Su Changhe back to the hotel.
While Wang Yao was having dinner at home late afternoon, he received an emergency call from Li Maoshuang.
“Hello, Maoshuang, what’s going on?” asked Wang Yao.
“Can you come out now?” asked Li Maoshuang, who was a bit short of breath. Apparently, something urgent was happening.
“Do you want me to see someone?” asked Wang Yao.
“Yes, my dad,” said Li Maoshuang.
“Okay,” said Wang Yao.
“I’ll pick you up,” said Li Maoshuang.
“No need. I’ll drive to your place right away,” said Wang Yao.
Wang Yao drove to the town center of Lianshan right away. Li Maoshuang’s father was in Lianshan People’s Hospital. By the time Wang Yao had arrived, it was evening.
“What happened to your dad?” asked Wang Yao.
“He had a stroke,” said Li Maoshuang anxiously.

“I see,” said Wang Yao.
He knew Li Maoshuang’s father’s condition was tricky as soon as he heard the word stroke. He could treat a stroke but required suitable herbs. He needed Meridian Unblocking Powder, which was very effective in treating stroke. However, he didn’t have any of the decoction left now.
“Where is your dad?” asked Wang Yao.
“In one of the hospital rooms,” said Li Maoshuang.
Li Maoshuang asked one of his friends in the hospital to arrange a private room for his dad.
Li Maoshuang’s two sisters were also at the hospital.
Wang Yao saw an old man lying on the bed. The old man was skinny and in a deep sleep. There was an infusion bottle hung next to the hospital bed. Wang Yao could see one side of face droop.
“How is Dad?” asked Li Maoshuang softly.
“He just went to sleep,” said one of his sisters.
“Can you take a look at him?” asked Li Maoshuang.
“Okay,” said Wang Yao as he sat down next to the bed and checked Li Maoshuang’s father’s pulse.
“This is?” asked Li Maoshuang’s elder sister.
“This is Dr. Wang, who cured my stomach problem,” said Li Maoshuang softly as he didn’t want to disturb Wang Yao.
“Him?” His elder sister almost let slip out, “He’s so young!”
Li Maoshuang’s father had suddenly passed out at home. Li Maoshuang and his two sisters took their father to the hospital right away. While they were filling the forms, Li Maoshuang’s elder sister noticed that her brother was making a phone call. Later on, Li Maoshuang told his elder sister that he had invited a very good doctor to see their father. His elder sister didn’t expect the doctor to be so young.
How good could he be if he is so young?
Of course, Li Maoshuang’s sisters didn’t say anything, even though they doubted Wang Yao’s ability. After all, Wang Yao came all the way to see their father.
“Your dad is not in good condition,” said Wang Yao honestly.
“You are right. The doctor said the same thing,” said Li Maoshuang.
Although his father was still conscious, part of his body, particularly his lower limbs, were paralyzed. This was not a good sign.
“Can I give him a massage?” asked Wang Yao.
“Okay,” said Li Maoshuang.
Li Maoshuang was glad that Wang Yao was going to treat his dad, but his sisters were not that happy. They were worried. After all, their father was already in critical condition, and he could get worse any time. To them, Wang Yao didn’t seem to be a highly capable doctor. They were worried about what they would do if anything went wrong.
“Look, Maoshang, we are in the hospital now. Will the doctors here allow external personnel to treat Dad?” said Li Maoshuang’s elder sister in a tactful way.
“Don’t worry. You guys can keep an eye outside, let me know if any doctor is coming here,” said Li Maoshuang. He didn’t get his elder sister’s true intent.

“Well…” said his elder sister.
“Look, ma’am, I’ll just give your dad a massage to relax. Nothing will go wrong,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay. Let’s go outside.” Li Maoshuang’s elder sister indicated his younger sister to leave. The two of them left the room.
“Shall we start? Dr. Wang?” Li Maoshuang couldn’t wait.
“Okay,” said Wang Yao.
Wang Yao stretched his arms a bit, then started to massage the acupuncture points on the old man’s head. The old man was very skinny. He didn’t have strong muscles on his head.
Wang Yao gathered his Qi to his hands, then transferred his Qi into the old man’s body using a unique way to stimulate the old man’s body, make him relax, and unblock his meridians. In fact, Wang Yao’s Qi was a unique energy formed by his Qi inside his body and the Qi of the universe. He gained such energy through ongoing practice. The Qi he used to massage the old man was similar to the wonderful treatment method based on Taoism. In fact, the Natural Classics Wang Yao had been studying was a Taoism classic. Taoism had a balanced and mild nature, which could calm one’s mind and improve one’s health.
Wang Yao was very careful when massaging the old man’s head because the old man was very weak. He only released a minimal amount of Qi when massaging the old man.
The old man’s eyelids seemed to move slightly.
“What do you think is Maoshuang doing?” Li Maoshuang’s two sisters were worried.
“He seems to be obsessed! What did that Dr. Wang do to him?” said Li Maoshuang’s younger sister.
The two sisters were not happy with Wang Yao. They thought Wang Yao was too young, so his medical skills might not be as good as their brother had described. It was disturbing to see such a young doctor check someone’s pulse. A doctor who can check pulses must be at least 40 years old. In addition, they had never heard of anyone who used massage to treat stroke.
“Dad is already in critical condition. I hope he won’t get worse,” said Li Maoshuang’s younger sister.
“Exactly! We need to do something,” said his elder sister.
“Well, we should speak to Maoshuang in private,” said his younger sister.
“I don’t want that Dr. Wang to continue to massage Dad,” said his elder sister.
“Okay, you go inside to tell them the doctor is coming. I’ll call the doctor,” said his younger sister.
“Okay,” said his elder sister.
The two sisters decided to stop Wang Yao from treating their father. The younger sister was going to call the doctor while the elder sister went into the room to interrupt Wang Yao’s treatment.
Crack! The door of the room opened.
Li Maoshuang’s elder sister found that Wang Yao was massaging her father using a unique method. The thing was that Wang Yao was massaging his neck.
“What is he doing?” asked the elder sister.
“Shush!”
Li Maoshuang indicated his sister to keep quiet.
The old man’s eyes opened slowly.
“Dad is awake!” said Li Maoshuang’s elder sister who successfully stopped the massage treatment.
“Dad, how do you feel?” asked Li Maoshuang’s elder sister.
“I’m okay. I slept for a while. Now I feel much better. My head is not that heavy.” The old man’s speech was slurred because of the stroke.
“The medication worked,” said Li Maoshuang’s elder sister.
While they were speaking, Li Maoshuang’s younger sister came back with a doctor.
“Hey, dad is awake. How do you feel?” asked the younger sister.
“I feel better,” said the old man.
“Let me take a look.” The doctor took a look at the old man. He poked different parts of the old man’s body to check his response. The result was not much different from before. There was no response in lower limbs.
“We’ll continue with the medication,” said the doctor.
“Okay, thank you, Doctor,” said Li Maoshuang’s younger sister.
Wang Yao checked the old man’s pulse again after the doctor had left.
“It worked!” said Wang Yao.
His massage worked, or the Qi he transferred into the old man’s body worked. The Qi became pure and mild energy to continuously stimulate the old man’s body, especially the blocked blood vessel. Although Wang Yao didn’t release a big volume of Qi, it obviously worked.
“Dr. Wang?” asked Li Maoshuang.
Comparing to the doctors in the hospital, Li Maoshuang apparently trusted Wang Yao more.
“He’s fine. I anticipate that your father’s condition will be better after tonight,” said Wang Yao with a smile.
He found that his Qi was more powerful than he had imagined and more effective than most medications.
“I need to go out,” said Wang Yao.
“I’ll come with you.” Li Maoshuang followed Wang Yao out of the room.
“I just gave your dad a massage. I anticipate that he will regain some movement in his lower limbs in the second half of the night. Make sure he moves the best he can. Don’t let him sleep too much. It’s okay to have a nap, but not for too long. Make sure he has some gentle exercises,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay,” said Li Maoshuang. “Does he still need to take any herbs?”
“Well, I’ll let you know tomorrow,” said Wang Yao after thinking for a moment.
He was going to try to brew another Meridians Unblocking powder, but according to Li Maoshuang’s father’s pulse just now, his massage treatment had a very positive impact on the old man’s condition. Therefore, he didn’t want to rush into any decision-making until the next day.
It was dark by the time Wang Yao left the hospital.
“Have you had dinner?” asked Li Maoshuang. “Shall we have supper together?”
“No, thanks. You should go back to the hospital. Your dad needs you.” Wang Yao shook his hand with a smile. He actually left home without finishing his dinner, so he felt a bit hungry now.

His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region
