Chapter 331: A Man’s Tears
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
The elderly woman hadn’t been sleeping well due to a headache. Her health was affected by the declining quality of her sleep as a result. It was important to have an adequate amount of sleep, otherwise one’s health would be negatively impacted.
Wang Yao planned to enhance her vitality first, so he adjusted the prescription slightly by adding two herbs which would calm her nerves.
Wang Yao had the herbs he wanted available.
He wrote down the prescription, got the herbs out of the cabinet, and packed them.
Wang Yao also wrote down the dose, how to take the herbs, and some precautions regarding the medication on a piece of paper for Chen Changfeng.
“Your handwriting is great!” Chen Changfeng praised after taking the piece of paper.
“I’m flattered,” said Wang Yao with a smile.
“This can treat my mother’s headache?” asked Chen Changfeng.
“Yes, but with limited effect. The formula will enhance and consolidate her vitality. Your mother is quite weak due to poor sleep quality and her age. She needs the herbs to help regulate her body,” explained Wang Yao.
“I see. How about the other formula you mentioned? When can I get it?” asked Chen Changfeng.
“In three days. I’ll give you a call,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, thanks,” said Chen Changfeng.
The cost of the formula was not expensive, only a few hundred yuan.
Chen Changfeng thanked Wang Yao and left with his mother. The two of them drove off.
“Mom, how do you feel?” asked Chen Changfeng.
“I feel much better after the massage,” said his mother.
“Good, we’ll see if the medicine is going to work,” said Chen Changfeng.
“Okay,” said his mother.
“I’ll visit him in two days to get another,” said Chen Changfeng.
Meanwhile, at the town center of Lianshan, inside a household, Chen Wei was taking a shower.
He felt something while having a shower.
I can feel it! I can feel it!
He had some feeling at his crotch, which he hadn’t had for months. He was thrilled. Although he wasn’t back to normal, he could see hope.
The herbs prescribed by Dr. Wang are working!
He was in tears from the overwhelming happiness.
He could possibly save his marriage, his family, and his dignity as a man.
I should thank that Dr. Wang in person, and ask him to give me a check-up, thought Chen Wei. He was so preoccupied with his thoughts that he even forgot he was taking a shower.
Good, the number of people has increased.
Wang Yao found that the number of people he completed for the mission had increased to 35. He was unsure who exactly the 35 people were, but it was a good thing for him. He was one more step closer to completing his mission.
Wang Yao went down Nanshan Hill early the next morning, as he would have a lot of patients today.

His first patient of the day was Zhou Wukang, who came with his father.
Zhou Wukang’s arm had recovered well. Wang Yao checked him over before giving him the Meridian Unblocking powder he had brewed earlier.
While Wang Yao was seeing Zhou Wukang, Pan Jun and his friend had arrived. They waited outside the clinical room. Later on, Chen Boyuan arrived with his father-in-law. They also waited outside the clinical room. This was the first time Wang Yao had so many patients at the same time. Fortunately, they were all people he knew.
“Take the decoction as usual, which will enhance his vitality, but the dose can be reduced by half over time,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay,” said Zhou Xiong.
“Ask Wukang to practice Kung Fu again, starting from gentle Chinese boxing. It will help with his recovery,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, thank you, Dr. Wang,” said Zhou Xiong.
Zhou Xiong didn’t linger. He left with his son right away as there were other patients waiting.
Wang Yao saw Chen Wei next.
“Hello, how have you been?” asked Wang Yao.
“The decoction you gave me worked. I could feel it,” said Chen Wei vaguely, as there were other people around.
“Good, let me take a look,” said Wang Yao.
He checked Chen Wei’s pulse.
“It’s working. Good. Sit still now,” said Wang Yao.
He started to give Chen Wei a massage with his right hand. He pushed and rubbed Chen Wei’s lower back. He gathered his Qi into his palms and tried to release it into Chen Wei’s body.
Wang Yao tried to apply Qi to the patient during the massage treatment. He had tried it on Zhou Wukang, although it was not very effective then. With more practice recently, Wang Yao felt he could control his Qi better, so he wanted to try it on Chen Wei.
“How do you feel?” asked Wang Yao.
“I feel warm,” said Chen Wei.
He felt that Wang Yao’s hands were warm, even hot, like his lower back was covered by a warm cloth. The warm feeling started to penetrate into his body.
The warm feeling went from lower back to lower belly, then to his crotch.
He could feel something down his crotch.
“Have you taken all the decoctions?” asked Wang Yao.
“Yes,” said Chen Wei.
“I’ll give you another decoction. Continue to take it, and be cautious of your lifestyle,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, thank you,” said Chen Wei happily.
Wang Yao wrote down the prescription, packed the herbs, and repeated the precautions Chen Wei should take.
“Be aware of your lifestyle. Don’t do what you are not supposed to!” said Wang Yao.
“I won’t, Dr. Wang.” This time, Chen Wei completed trusted Wang Yao. Wang Yao didn’t need to repeat those precautions; Chen Wei knew exactly what he was not supposed to do.
Pan Jun talked to Wang Yao for a moment before leaving the clinic with Chen Wei.

“He looks quite happy!” said Chen Boyuan with a smile.
“Yes,” said Wang Yao.
All the patients would be happier when they got better, especially the ones with unspeakable conditions.
“Do you need a break?” asked Chen Boyuan.
“No, I’m not tired.” Wang Yao shook his hand with a smile.
The old man’s legs were skinny, like Zhou Wukang’s arm, but stronger. Because he had been healthy for a long time.
Let me try again!
Wang Yao gathered his Qi onto his palms, then massaged the old man’s legs.
“Ouch!”
The old man frowned.
He felt that Wang Yao’s hands were quite warm, even hot, but he was not sure if it was because that his legs were sensitive to heat.
The warm feeling expanded from his legs to his feet, then to his lower back. It was interesting that the warm feeling stopped at his lower back.
Wang Yao stopped massaging half an hour later.
“Do you feel strange?” asked Wang Yao.
“My legs are warm, so are my feet. But the warm feeling stopped here, I feel a bit uncomfortable.” The old man pointed at his belly and lower back.
The feeling was uncomfortable. It was like the Qi was stuck somewhere inside his body.
“Here?”
Wang Yao pressed a few acupuncture points on the old man’s body with his finger.
“Ouch!”
Chen Boyuan’s father-in-law felt as if his body was pin-pricked by a needle. He shivered and took a deep breath.
“What’s wrong?” asked Wang Yao.
“I feel a bit painful down there, like I was pin-pricked by a needle,” said the old man.
“I see. Please try to bear with it for a bit longer,” said Wang Yao.
He reduced the strength applied on the old man’s body, then continued to press those acupuncture points.
The old man continued to have the pin prick feeling, but not as bad as it was.
“Well, I’ll stop for now. I have some decoction here, please drink some.” Wang Yao took out a porcelain bottle with decoction inside. It was the Meridian Unblocking powder.
He had brewed two of the Meridian Unblocking powder. One for Zhou Wukang, the other for Chen Boyuan’s father-in-law.
“What is this?” asked the old man.
“Meridian Unblocking powder. It can activate your blood, remove the coagulation, and unblock your meridians,” said Wang Yao.
The old man probably had never heard of this decoction, but Chen Boyuan knew what it was. He had witnessed Wang Yao give it to Su Xiaoxue when he was in Beijing. Wang Yao only gave Su Xiaoxue a small amount of the decoction.
Chen Boyuan thought that these wonderful decoctions made Wang Yao an extraordinary doctor. These decoctions could take effect immediately.
“Just take a little for now,” said Wang Yao.
Chen Boyuan’s father-in-law only took a little bit of the decoction. He felt the difference immediately. The decoction went into his stomach like a warm current, then ran all the way to his trunk and limbs. A warm feeling spread all over his body.
Ten minutes after the old man had taken the decoction, Wang Yao gave him a massage again. He continued to apply his Qi to the massage treatment and focused on those acupuncture points.
The combination of the decoction with the massage applied with Qi was quite effective.
Crack!
It was the sound from inside the old man’s body, but it couldn’t be heard. More precisely, it was not a sound, but a feeling, a special feeling. The old man felt somewhere inside his body was unblocked.
It was not hard to describe such a feeling. It was as if a constipated patient suddenly opened his bowels. The wastes inside his body were evacuated. It was a liberating feeling.
Then, the remaining warmth inside the old man’s legs started to move up and passed his lower back a little bit.
The old man tried to move his legs, and he found he could contract the muscle and was able to slightly move his leg.
“It’s moving!” He was thrilled.
“Yes!” said Chen Boyuan happily, as he also noticed the movement.
Wang Yao didn’t say anything. He continued to massage the old man’s lower back, his trunk, and lower limbs. It took him another half an hour to finish the massage treatment.
“Let me take a look again.” Wang Yao checked his pulse after 10 minutes.
“Good, I’m happy with your response to the treatment,” said Wang Yao. “Let’s call it a day. Take the decoction home with you. I’ve written down how to take it on this piece of paper. Try to give him a massage whenever you can, which will help him recover faster.” Wang Yao handed the piece of paper to Chen Boyuan.
The decoction cost a lot.
Chen Boyuan was not shocked by the cost. In fact, he had earned enough money by working in his current position for years.
“Thank you, Dr. Wang,” said Chen Boyuan.
“You are welcome. See you later,” said Wang Yao.
The whole morning was gone after seeing three patients.
This was the first time Wang Yao had seen three patients in a row.
He took a break, then documented today’s cases including the patients’ symptoms, the decoctions he prescribed to the patients and treatment sessions. He also wrote down his clinical reasoning as these were all valuable experiences which could be used as references in the future. If possible, he wanted to write a book of all the treatments he gave to his patients, like what Sang Guzi was going to do.
I should go home to have lunch.
After having lunch, Wang Yao returned to his clinic. He did some stretches, then took a nap.
He went back to Nanshan Hill after that, as he didn’t expect any patients to come in the afternoon.

The Empty Valley Cries Unheard
The stories can be read at any order. Phew, this story was finally finished at last! What could I say, it was a hell of a ride when I wrote it from the beginning to end. Thanks for having me on RR :D All the current chapter had already done a run on Grammarly, so hopefully it'd be more readable. ...kinda feeling lazy so calling off the edits for now. A couple of old / new attempts of combining Horror, Comedy and Absurdist elements. I'm not very good at writing Horror stories but I'd like to try once in a while. Although the first chapter may be completely screwed up, believe me--I mostly write fluffy gay scenes between two girls. It would PROBABLY become a lot lighter as we moved up the chapter count. Not for the faint of heart, but if you're like me who like some absurd or nonsensical stories, this might be right up your alley. Sorry in advance if some of the chapters seem normal lol additional tags : nonsense / absurd / parody

Bow of the North
In game of thrones i felt that the Starks received way too much hardships and tragedy. i know that there were vital points of story, and there were times these hardships were building points for their characters, but i feel when every member of a family has been either killed, raped or crippled then they deserve a break. In my story that break comes in the form of a powerful hunter/general from another world. I have no intention of altering the story to save every stark, or have them win every time, and some of my favourite characters may even be victims of this plot change as well. edited The main character, and there will be several new characters introduced to the storyline, will not just be some over powered guy who makes outrageous decisions that always work out (cough Plot armour) but will be someone that treats the world as a real world and has fears, doubts and is cautious in his decisions. He is susceptible to changing his mind and character traits depending on his experiences in this life. The story will primarily follow the plot at the beginning with some minor changes, and as more things change they will increase till the entire story is changed at the end. I am not copying the world of GoT exactly. cultures, politics and nobility may be changed or made up.

The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
