Chapter 321: Peeping at the Doctor over the Wall
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“Don’t worry about Wang Yao for now. No rush, we can deal with him later,” Li Yaosheng said.
“Why?” Li Shaoyang asked.
Li Shaoyang wanted revenge on Wang Yao. He couldn’t keep his mind off it all day and night, even when he was having dinner. He dreamed about torturing Wang Yao, who knelt down to beg him in his dream. Suddenly, his father asked him not to worry about Wang Yao. He couldn’t accept it. He couldn’t wait, not for one day. He was angry every single day. He thought he would be depressed if he didn’t pay back Wang Yao.
“You!” Li Yaosheng gave his son a hard look.
He would have slapped Li Shaoyang’s face if he had not been ill. Although he was angry with his son, he had to put up with his son, who looked like a drug addict. He didn’t want to slap his son to death.
“Well, how come I have a son like you!” Li Yaosheng breathed a big sigh.
Some people were heroes, but their sons were useless. All Li Yaosheng could do now was sigh.
He wished his wife didn’t give birth to Li Shaoyang.
…
It was sunny in the morning. Autumn had arrived at the end of August. It was quite cool in the morning and evening but a bit hot at noon.
Wang Yao was on Nanshan Hill inside his Spirit Gathering battle array.
He started to prepare the herbs for the Muscle Revitalizing powder.
Red Vaseline, litharge powder, licorice, fritillary, Everlasting grass, Lingshanji, Angelica…
By the time Wang Yao had gotten all the herbs ready, the sun was shining up high in the sky.
The Yang energy had reached its peak.
However, it was nice and cool inside the Spirit Gathering battle array.
Crackle! The flame danced on top of the firewood. Wang Yao added more firewood from time to time and kept an eye on the changes in the multifunctional pot.
He put the herbs into the pot one by one.
Everlasting grass was able to settle the organs, repair damage, and enhance vitality. Lingshanji was able to remove toxins inside the body, facilitate muscle growth, and reduce pain.
These two licorice roots played a vital role in Muscle Revitalizing powder. They were considered to have medium quality among licorice roots.
After Wang Yao had put Lingshanji into the pot, the liquid started to become sticky. The last herb he put into the pot was Guiyuan, which enabled all the herbs to work together and balance Ying and Yang.
It was not Wang Yao’s first time to brew Muscle Revitalizing powder. He was still careful with each step of the process. Each time his skills improved, he gained new insight.

Wang Yao had finished brewing the decoction when it was close to noon.
He put the decoction into two porcelain bottles. One was diluted. The other was not.
The decoction was for Su Xiaoxue.
Now, he had another decoction to brew. He stood up to stretch his body. He then took a look outside.
It’s time for lunch.
As Wang Yao arrived at his clinic, he found someone was sneaking around it.
It was a young man in his 20s. He wore decent clothes but was peeping into the courtyard over the wall.
“Hey, what are you doing there?” Wang Yao shouted.
“Ah!”
Wang Yao was startled after the young man turned his head around. He had a huge scar on his face that looked like dry tree bark. It was not too bad to have a scar like this on other parts of the body. Unfortunately, the scar was on his face, which looked scary.
“Hello. I’m here to look for someone.” The young man was embarrassed.
“Who are you looking for?” Wang Yao asked.
“I’m looking for Dr. Wang,” the young man said.
“Dr. Wang? What do you need him for?” Wang Yao was surprised, wondering if the young man was here for him.
“I just want to see him. I’m not well,” the young man said.
“You are not well? What’s wrong with you?” Wang Yao asked.
Wang Yao took a close look at the young man, who looked strong, was in good spirit, and had bright eyes. The young man didn’t seem to be sick.
“You see, I’ve got this scar on my face.” The young man pointed at his scar, which was as big as a baby’s palm.
“I see. Is it a birthmark?” Wang Yao half joked.
“It is not a birthmark. It was caused by a fire burn. I heard that there is a wonderful doctor here called Dr. Wang, so here I am,” the young man said.
“A wonderful doctor? Who told you?” Wang Yao asked.
“I just heard it from someone,” the young man said.
“Alright, please come in,” Wang Yao said as he opened the door.
“You… You are Dr. Wang?” the young man said with surprise.
“Yes.” Wang Yao replied.
“Hello, my name is Yao Shan. I’m 28 years old. I live in Riverside town, Willow Creek village,” the young man said.
“Okay, okay. You don’t need to tell me so many details,” Wang Yao said.
The young man entered the clinic. He thought the courtyard looked quite nice.
“You want to have the scar removed?” Wang Yao asked as soon as they sat down.

“Yes.”
Yao Shan nodded. His life had been rough because of the scar. He had a degree but couldn’t find a proper job. He also had difficulty getting a girlfriend. No one would want to marry someone with such a big scar on their face. In addition, he didn’t have much money.
Wang Yao had a close look at the young man, who actually was quite good looking. He had big eyes and bushy eyebrows and a Grecian nose. The scar destroyed his face.
“Let me see.”
Wang Yao took a close look at the big scar on Yao Shan’s left cheek. It was a bit unusual to have a scar caused by burn on that area.
“Have you been to any hospitals?” Wang Yao asked.
The medical technology was quite advanced nowadays, so some scars could be removed.
“Yes, but the doctors there couldn’t remove it,” Yao Shan replied.
In fact, Yao Shan was not telling the truth. He had been to a hospital in Shanghai. The doctor there told him that his scar could be removed, but the cost was very high. He thought about it for a long time and eventually gave up.
“Well, leave your contact number. I need to think about how to remove your scar,” Wang Yao said after examining the scar.
“Okay, thank you,” Yao Shan said.
“I just have one more question,” Wang Yao said, looking into the young man’s eyes. “Who told you to come here to see me?”
“Well, I’m sorry I can’t tell you,” Yao Shan said.
“Never mind. Go back for now, but don’t tell anyone else about me and this clinic.” Wang Yao said as he shook his hand.
“Okay, thank you.” Yao Shan stood up after thanking Wang Yao again.
After Yao Shan left, Wang Yao took out his notebook to document Yao Shan’s condition.
Yao Shan suffered a burn on his face, which was exposed all the time. The burn had healed and left a big scar. The muscles underneath the scar couldn’t return to what they were like before the burn. This was the first time Wang Yao had come across a condition like this, which was different that Su Xiaoxue’s condition. She had ulcers all over her body because of the toxins inside her body. Yao Shan’s scar was due to external factor.
It won’t be easy to remove the scar.
If Wang Yao could have seen Yao Shan right after the burn, he probably could have applied Muscle Revitalizing powder to the burn area. Muscle Revitalizing powder would be able to prevent the formation of a big ugly scar. However, the wound had healed. Wang Yao had to use special methods to remove the scar.
Maybe I should cut the scar open?
Wang Yao wrote down his thoughts in the notebook.
While Wang Yao was having lunch, he received a call from Zhou Xiong, who told him he was bringing his son to Lianshan. He also told Wang Yao that Sang Guzi had come with them. Zhou Xiong wanted to visit Wang Yao the next day, so he asked if he was available.
“Yes, I’m available. See you tomorrow,” Wang Yao said.
He didn’t expect Sang Guzi to also come to Lianshan. Wang Yao appreciated Sang Guzi’s medial skills, as well as his moral character.
Pan Jun visited Wang Yao in the afternoon at his clinic.
“Hello. Welcome. You don’t need to bring me anything.” Wang Yao felt awkward when he saw the gifts in Pan Jun’s hand.
“Hello. I just don’t feel comfortable to come empty handed.” Pan Jun put the gifts down with a smile.
“You are not on duty today?” Wang Yao asked.
“No,” Pan Jun said.
“What happened?” Wang Yao could tell that Pan Jun was not in good mood.
“Do you remember the patient I asked you to see last time?” Pan Jun asked.
“Yes, what happened?” Wang Yao asked.
“The doctors found that he had tumor inside his body when he was reviewed,” Pan Jun replied.
“That is not a bad thing,” Wang Yao said. He remembered that the tumor inside the patient’s body had existed for a long time. If he was treated immediately, the tumor would probably not expand.
“That patient is going to have the surgery in my hospital,” Pan Jun said.
“The town hospital?” Wang Yao asked with surprise.
It was not that Wang Yao looked down upon the town hospital. As a matter of fact, the town hospital was the best in Lianshan. But, it had limited recourse and the doctors there had limited medical skills. Patients suffering from severe illness would normally go to Zhu or Wei. Only a handful of patients would go to the town hospital, let alone go for the surgical removal of a tumor, which was considered a major operation.
“If I am right, not many patients with tumors are treated in your hospital,” Wang Yao said.
“You are right. We have some patients having chemotherapy but not surgery,” Pan Jun replied.
“Well, does the surgery have anything to do with you?” Wang Yao asked.
