Chapter 290: Nine Herbs Pill
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Lei alone the decoction also contained Guiyuan, licorice and other herbs.
San Xian went back to his territory after making sure his master didn’t have any more requests.
Great! San Xian is fine!
Wang Yao put a herbal pill into his own mouth. The pill melt immediately and went all the way down to his stomach like a warm current. Then it was absorbed by his stomach before the effect reached his limbs and trunk. After a while, Wang Yao felt quite comfortable. Of course the effect of the herbal pill was not as good as Prolongation pill which contained a number of licorice roots, but it was still quite effective.
Since Wang Yao had made the pill, he required a name for the pill.
What should I call it?
Right! I can call it Nine herbs pill, because the pill was made of nine different herbs.
Even the process of brewing Nine herbs pills was simpler, it contained two licorice roots. Wang Yao wouldn’t be able to make the pills every single day. He put the pills in a number of small porcelain bottles.
Normally Wang Yao wouldn’t make any mistakes when brewing Nine herbs pills, because the key of the pills was its components. All the herbs Wang Yao had chosen to brew the pills had mild nature. People could even take the pills as snack. Nothing would happen, not even a bleeding nose.
Wang Yao planned to give some of the pills to his grandparents and leave some to his parents. He thought those pills might be useful when his family members were ill.
In fact, it was unlikely to use those pills at home. As long as Wang Yao was at the village, he went home everyday. He gave his parents a massage every evening so that he was fully aware of his parents health status. If one of them were not ill, he would provide treatment immediately to stop the illness getting worse.
Tian Yuantu came to the village in the afternoon to bring Wang Yao four sets of Seven Star herb cabinet. The cabinets looked quite old as they were from late Qing Dynasty.
“Thank you,” said Wang Yao. He could tell those cabinets were good stuff as soon as he laid his eyes on them. It must have taken Tian Yuantu fair a bit of effort to get them.
“You are welcome,” said Tian Yuantu. He asked his men to take the cabinets off the van and carried them into the clinic.
“Hmmm, I haven’t been here for several days. It started to look like a clinic,” said Tian Yuantu with a smile as he looked at those new furniture.
“Please take a sit. I’ll make you some tea,” said Wang Yao.

Wang Yao had some really good tea leaves at his place. He just took some high quality tea out randomly.
“You didn’t turn the air condition on?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“No,” said Wang Yao.
“It’s nice and cool here,” said Tian Yuantu.
Although it had rained recently, it was still quite hot outside. Tian Yuantu felt it was much cooler inside Wang Yao’s clinic after he had entered the courtyard.
Tian Yuantu considered a lot when designing the clinic. For example, he made sure that the clinical rooms all had good airflow. Although people couldn’t tell whether a room has good airflow by looking at it, a good designer would take into consideration of all the aspects of a building including airflow. In addition, the plants Wang Yao had in the courtyard could adjust the temperature in the clinic. Therefore, it was cooler inside the clinic.
Tian Yuantu didn’t stay for long, and didn’t ask Wang Yao for payment for the herb cabinets. He told Wang Yao that those cabinets were gifts to celebrate the opening of Wang Yao’s clinic.
Wang Yao started to work after Tian Yuantu had left. He took a close look at the herb cabinets inside out and clean the cabinets. It was getting dark after Wang Yao had finished working.
They are clean now. I can put herbs into the cabinets tomorrow.
After he had returned to Nanshan hill, he made some stickers to label the herbs inside the cabinets.
The next day, he brought quite a lot of herbs from Nanshan hill and put them into the cabinets.
In fact, Wang Yao’s clinic was ready to open. He just required a medical certificate.
Not sure when I can get the result of the exam I took in Ji. thought Wang Yao.
“What? All the results of the exam are invalid?” shouted He Qisheng.
“yes, because someone reported cheating behavior during the exam. A few people cheated during the exam,” said an officer from the medical board.
“What about those ones who didn’t cheat?” asked He Qisheng.
“Unfortunately their results are invalid, too,” said the officer.
He Qisheng was in a bad mood at the moment.
No, I can’t just let it go. I have to get Wang Yao pass the exam. thought He Qisheng.
As the governor of a big province in terms of economic development, Guo Changqing was very busy. It was not easy for people to make an appointment to meet with him.
Guo Changqing had just finished talking to the Secretary of out of the cities in Ji province, his secretary came in five minutes later.
“Governor Guo, He Qisheng is here. He said he needs to talk to you of an urgent matter,” said Guo Chengqing’s secretary.

“Qisheng? Ask him to come in,” said Guo Changqing.
“Okay,” said his secretary.
He Qisheng entered the governor’s office and told Guo Changqing about the exam.
“Dr. Wang?” asked Guo Changqing.
As soon as Guo Changqing knew the issue was related to Wang Yao, he started to pay attention. His family owed Wang Yao a lot, and the result of an exam was no big deal for Guo Changqing. He didn’t want Wang Yao to think he hadn’t tried to help him.
So Guo Changqing called the relevant department right away, then asked his secretary to follow up this issue.
“Sorry for the trouble,” said He Qisheng.
After he had told Guo Changqing about the exam, he no longer needed to worry about it.
Meanwhile, Su Xiaoxue was gradually recovering.
She had recovered well. The gauze bandage had been removed from her arms and legs. The new skin was exposed, which looked quite delicate. The pink skin started to turn white.
“Has Dr. Wang said when he will come here again?” asked Dr. Chen.
“No,” said Song Ruiping.
“The new skin has covered more than half of Xiaoxue’s body. Her meridians also started to unblock. The toxins inside her body has gradually been removed. However, her muscles and organs are still quite weak. She requires a long time to fully recover. My acupuncture treatment can surely help Xiaoxue, but the effect is limited. If Dr. Wang could give Xiaoxue some more of his decoctions, Xiaoxue will recover much faster,” said Dr. Chen.
He really wanted to visit Wang Yao, but he didn’t know where Wang Yao lived. Song Ruiping must know where Wang Yao was, but she wouldn’t tell. None of Su Xiaoxue’s family members would tell him.
“I’m glad to see Xiaoxue is getting better. Nothing is more important than her recovery,” said Song Ruiping.
“Of course,” said Dr. Chen.
He left after he had finished the acupuncture treatment for Su Xiaoxue. When he got home, he found he had a visitor, a middle-aged man in his 40’s.
“Dr. Chen,” cried the middle-aged man.
“Hello, Qingfeng, how come you are here?” asked Dr. Chen.
“Dr. Chen, please save my son!” The middle-aged man knelt on the ground, crying.
“Get up and tell me what happened.” Dr. Chen helped him stand up.
The middle-aged man was a younger member of Dr. Chen’s family. They were relatives.
The middle-aged man told Dr. Chen what happened. Apparently his son was seriously ill. The doctor from the hospital asked him to prepare for the worst, so he was very worried.
“Where is your son now?” asked Dr. Chen.
“He is in the hospital,” said the middle-aged man.
“Okay, take me to the hospital,” said Dr. Chen.
“Okay,” said the middle-aged man.
They arrived at one of the well-known hospitals in Beijing one hour later. Dr. Chen went to see a young man inhaling oxygen and checked his pulse.
The young man was extremely short of breath. His pulse was weak, and he had multiple organ failure.
If the young man was not treated property, he would die in ten days.
Dr. Chen had a look at medication list, then took out the acupuncture needles he always brought with him.
“What are you doing?” said a doctor who just came in to check the young man. He tried to stop Dr. Chen.
“Doctor, I’m this patient’s father. I have given permission to him to give acupuncture treatment to my son,” said the middle-aged man.
“I don’t think it is a good idea. Who will take the responsibility if anything goes wrong?” said the doctor coldly.
Dr. Chen looked at the doctor briefly, then made a phone call. He passed his phone to the doctor after speaking briefly on the phone.
“Can you please talk to the person on the phone?” said Dr. Chen.
“Who is it?” asked the doctor in surprise. He took the phone after some hesitation.
“Hello…Oh, Director…Yes…Yes…I’m Dr. Chen…” The doctor kept nodding and bowing, as if the person from the other end of the phone could see him.
“Okay, I see.”
After the doctor hung up the phone, he returned the phone with two hands back to Dr. Chen very politely.
“I’m sorry, please do whatever you think is required for the patient, and let me know if there is anything I can help,” said the doctor.
“Nothing really, just close the door on your way out,” said Dr. Chen.
“Okay.” The doctor went out of the room right away, and closed the door gently.
Dr. Chen sat next to the young patient and started acupuncture treatment. Dr. Chen was and old doctor, but his hands were still steady, and could accurately identify the acupuncture points.
It took him a long while to finish the treatment. Then he checked the young patient’s pulse again and frowned.
“I’ll prescribe you a formula. You just need to follow my instructions,” said Dr. Chen.
“Okay, should my son continue to stay in the hospital?” asked the middle-aged man.
“Of course, why not?” said Dr. Chen.
He was a very open-minded person, and had read a lot of books about Western Medicine.
Comparing to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western Medicine was unique in its own way, at least in terms of the data collection method of various diagnoses and their treatments.
