Chapter 277: Bringing a Teapot from Thousands of Miles Away
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
What did people with power and money want most?
Of course, they wanted a healthy body so they could enjoy the power and money.
What were they scared of most?
They were scared of suddenly losing their power and money. They were scared of being sick, so they couldn’t enjoy those things.
All the emperors in ancient China wanted to be immortal. They wanted to possess supreme power forever and relish the best things in the world.
Meanwhile, Tian Yuantu’s employees were busy working in Wang Yao’s village.
They were quite efficient. They had demolished the old houses within a day. The next thing to do was to build the foundation of the new clinic. Before they started to build the foundation, they slowed down, so they could take a good look at the land.
“What are they looking for?” Wang Yao happened to see the workers searching the land. He was quite curious about what they were doing.
“Nothing,” said the leading builder with a smile.
There were a lot of things the builders needed to consider before building a house. They needed to pick a good day to start construction. They also needed to be aware of a lot of things; for example, there shouldn’t be any iron nor any other foreign substances below the foundation. Only debris was allowed to exist under the foundation; not even large stones. The builders were going to use reinforcing steel to build the clinic. They also needed to be aware of Feng Shui. All the builders were highly experienced, Tian Yuantu had reinforced the importance of the clinic they were going to build, and Wang Yao had shown them his hospitality with fine wines and cigarettes, so they took the work very seriously.
Wang Yao knew nothing about building a house, so he left it to the experts.
The workers searched carefully and removed all the iron and wires. Then they started to build the foundation.
After they had built the foundation, they left it to dry completely for two to three days in the hot weather. Then they would start to build the walls.
Wang Yao went to the town center to buy cigarettes, bottles of spring water, and cokes for the workers. It didn’t cost him too much money. He just wanted to make the workers happy.
Meanwhile, in the Jiahui Group at Lianshan town center, Tian Yuantu had a distinguished guest in the office.
“Hello, Mr. Sun, why didn’t you tell me you were going to visit?” said Tian Yuantu with a smile.
He didn’t expect Sun Zhengrong’s visit. However, he knew Sun Zhengrong came for Wang Yao. Sun Zhengrong probably wanted Wang Yao to see his son again.

“Actually I wanted to meet Dr. Wang. Can you please contact him for me?” asked Sun Zhengrong.
“Okay, I’ll call him right away,” said Tian Yuantu.
As he said, he rang Wang Yao right away.
“Sun Zhengrong is in Lianshan? Can you please ask him to wait for me in your office? I’ve just got something to do at the moment,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, not a problem,” said Tian Yuantu.
“Mr. Sun, could you please wait for him here? He’s got something to do at home, and will come here as soon as he’s finished,” said Tian Yuantu.
“That’s fine,” said Sun Zhengrong. He sat in Tian Yuantu’s office to wait for Wang Yao. The two of them started to chat.
Wang Yao cleaned up his room, then said goodbye to his parents before driving to Jiahui Group in the town center.
He met Sun Zhengrong in Tian Yuantu’s office.
“Hello, Dr. Wang.” Sun Zhengrong stood up to welcome Wang Yao.
“Hello, Mr. Sun,” said Wang Yao.
“Shall we talk elsewhere?” suggested Sun Zhengrong.
It was inappropriate to have a conversation in someone else’s office.
“Well, you can use the meeting room here,” suggested Tian Yuantu.
“Sounds good. Thank you,” said Sun Zhengrong.
Tian Yuan led Wang Yao and Sun Zhengrong to the meeting room, then left the room once they had settled in.
“How is your son doing?” asked Wang Yao.
“His condition is stable at the moment, thanks to you,” said Sun Zhengrong.
“That’s good. Have you given him the decoction yet?” asked Wang Yao.
“Not yet. As you suggested, I’ll only give him the decoction when he has an episode,” said Sun Zhengrong.
“Okay, that’s good,” said Wang Yao. After thinking it over and counting the days, he realized that it had been a nearly a week since Sun Yunsheng took the decoction last time.
“I’m here today only to thank you for helping my son. I have a gift for you here. Please accept it as my gratitude,” said Sun Zhengrong. The man with no facial expression, who had been standing next to Sun Zhengrong took out a wooden box, which looked exquisite.
“Well, I accept your gratitude. As for the gift, you don’t need to give me anything,” declined Wang Yao.
“I’ve already bought the gift. The gift itself may be as light as a goose feather, but it was sent for from afar. It conveys my deep gratitude.” Sun Zhengrong opened the box while he spoke. There was a teapot inside the box. The teapot looked quite old and simple.
Wang Yao didn’t know much about teapots, but he could tell the teapot was very old, and it looked both grand and quaint.

Wang Yao tried to turn down the gift, but Sun Zhengrong insisted and wouldn’t give in.
“Thank you very much, Mr. Sun, I’ll take it then,” said Wang Yao after breathing a sigh.
After Wang Yao had accepted the teapot, Sun Zhengrong chatted with Wang Yao for a short while, and consulted Wang Yao on his son’s condition and treatment. Then he invited Wang Yao to lunch together.
“Sorry, I have to go home. I’ll buy you dinner next time,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, next time,” said Sun Zhengrong without insisting otherwise.
He had met Wang Yao, given him the teapot, and asked the questions he wanted to ask. The purposes of this trip had been served. Now it was time for him to head home.
Wang Yao and Tian Yuantu walked him out of Jiahui Group.
“Did he want you to see his son?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“Yeah, and he brought me a gift,” said Wang Yao.
He showed Tian Yuantu the teapot.
“What is this? Is this…the Spring pot?!” Tian Yuantu took the teapot carefully and had a closer look.
“This is the Spring pot from Ming Dynasty. A masterpiece! Good stuff!” exclaimed Tian Yuantu.
“I guess it is not cheap,” said Wang Yao.
“Of course not! Teapots like this were very rare and popular, many years ago. The reason why I recognized it was because I saw it during an auction. I was curious about the teapot so I did some research. This teapot would have cost at least 200 thousand yuan,” said Tian Yuantu.
“200 thousand yuan?” Wang Yao frowned.
This gift is a bit too much for him to take!
“I think he gave you this because he heard that you love drinking Chinese tea. This is really an exquisite gift,” said Tian Yuantu.
“Well, I don’t know who told him,” said Wang Yao as he shook his head.
“Would you like to stay for lunch?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“No thanks, I’ve got to go home. Shall we catch up on another day?” said Wang Yao.
“Okay,” said Tian Yuantu.
He drove back to his village.
The weather had been good in the last few days. It had been sunny and a bit windy, but not too hot.
Once the foundation of Wang Yao’s clinic had been built and dried, the workers started to install upright columns and build the walls. The workers were all highly experienced.
Some of the herbs in Wang Yao’s herbal field had fully grown, so Wang Yao picked them.
He left some of those herbs to dry under the sun, some to dry indoors, and fried the rest of the herbs. Different herbs required different processes and storage.
Then he prepared some herbs to brew several decoctions.
Wei Hai was almost fully recovered. Wang Yao planned to increase the dose and thickness of Deworming powder to kill all the parasites and their eggs deep inside Wei Hai’s organs. Secretary Yang’s mother’s health condition had also significantly improved. The Yang energy inside her body had increased. Wang Yao had thought about an additional treatment for her using Sanyang powder.
Wang Yao was going to recommend a medicated bath to Secretary Yang’s mother.
He wanted her to bathe with an herbal decoction to drive the cold evil out of her body, unblock her meridians, and nourish her body.
I have to go out a lot these next few days.
In seven to eight days, a brand new house appeared at the south end of the village.
The house had white walls and a black roof. It looked quite outstanding compared to the other houses in the village.
The villagers would take a few more looks at the house when they passed it.
“Wow, what a pretty house!” exclaimed a villager.
“You know what? He’s got an expert to design the house for him, unlike us,” said another villager.
“Exactly! The expert had a plan for it!” said one of the villagers.
The unfinished house had already become the most distinguished in the village.
Once the building had been built, internal decoration would start very soon after. The old walls around the courtyard were also pulled down. New walls had been erected to match the style of the house.
The courtyard had been cleaned up as well. Bricks had been paved everywhere except for the area where two Acacia trees were planted. The two Acacia trees were growing very well.
Early in the morning on Nanshan Hill, smoke and the smell of herbs came out of Wang Yao’s cottage.
Wang Yao was brewing decoctions inside his cottage.
He was very familiar with the process of brewing these particular decoctions.
After he had finished brewing the decoctions, he packed all of them into white porcelain bottles. Then, he opened the control panel of the system and found that his experience had increased.
I’m almost there!
He hadn’t upgraded for a long time, but his experience had been increasing continuously because he never stopped seeing patients and brewing decoctions.
He went into Lianshan town center again in the morning.
Wei Hai was the same as usual. He was resting in his tea shop and listening to the music, very relaxed.
“Hey, how come you are here?” asked Wei Hai.
“I just want to see if you were here. Have you gone to Haiqu?” said Wang Yao.
“I just went to Haiqu yesterday to see my kids. They are doing pretty well.” Wei Hai’s eyes became soft when talking about his children.

The Heart Grows
Dungeon games? Yeah, they're a good way to waste a few hours. The trick is to know the map and plan appropriately. Of course, it doesn't matter if you get beaten. You revise your plan for that map and do a bit better next time. Man, it'd really suck to wake up as a dungeon heart in a fantasy world you know nothing about, barely able to even work out how to control your dungeon. Lucky that wouldn't happen to anybody, huh? What with only having one chance at getting things right, you'd have to plan extra-defensive. This story should be getting chapters published weekly. I have a comfortable buffer set up and on top of the weekly writing I am committing, a commissioner has donated two monthly writing slots to ensure this remains on a weekly schedule. There will be a stat block at the beginning of every chapter bar the first, and a handy map at the end. All my works come with a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This means you are free to download, publish, and even make derivative works of my writing so long as you include this license, attribution, and don't sell the works. Keep it free!
