Chapter 251: An Expert
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
Wang Yao drove Tong Wei back to Dao City the next morning.
What had happened last night was only known to those who were involved. The morning in town was still peaceful and quiet.
The two of them didn’t speak in the car. They just listened to the sad pop songs on the radio.
“Are you still thinking about what happened last night?” asked Wang Yao as he noticed Tong Wei didn’t look well.
“Yes,” said Tong Wei softly.
“You’ll be better in the next few days.” Some herbs could help reduce post-traumatic stress. However, Tong Wei’s condition was not serious; she would return to normal without medication.
Wang Yao drove slowly. They arrived at Dao City three hours later. They went to Tong Wei’s unit first.
Tong Wei made Wang Yao a cup of tea after entering the unit. The two of them sat on the couch and chatted for a while.
“Would you like to grab some food?” asked Wang Yao.
“Okay,” said Tong Wei.
They went out for lunch. Tong Wei seemed to be slightly calmer. She started to smile. The two killers really scared the hell out of her the other night, as if she had walked through the gate of hell.
“Can you stay here tonight?” asked Tong Wei.
“Sure,” said Wang Yao gently.
He called his parents to notify them of what happened. His parents expressed understanding and asked him to stay at Dao City for a bit longer.
Tong Wei would go back to work the next day, then she would go to France for work. The two of them would separated for a long while.
Maybe it was because of the separation in the near future that they didn’t talk much.
It started to get dark outside.
They sat on the couch watching TV after evening dinner, just like an old couple.
Tong Wei leaned her head on Wang Yao’s shoulder. She was so pretty and smelled nice.
“I wish we could just be together like this,” said Tong Wei gently.
“Then we can just sit here a bit longer,” said Wang Yao.
The program on the TV was boring. They just sat on the couch leaning into each other. Maybe after several decades, when they got old, they would be like this all the time.
“I think we should be together,” said Tong Wei gently.
“Huh?” said Wang Yao in confusion.
It was a nice evening.
Before bed, Wang Yao gave Tong Wei a glass of light green water that had Moonlight herb in it to calm her mind.
Wang Yao held Tong Wei as they slept for the whole night. Tong Wei’s body was so soft.
Tong Wei had a very good sleep that night because she was with Wang Yao, her reliable boyfriend. She didn’t have any nightmares.
It would be so good if they could just stay like this.
Wang Yao kept thinking of him and Tong Wei while lying in bed.
Time always passed quickly when they were enjoying each other’s company. The night would eventually pass, and the sun had started to rise in the east.

“Good morning,” said Wang Yao.
“Morning.” Tong Wei gave Wang Yao a gentle kiss on his face.
“Did you have a good sleep?” asked Wang Yao.
“Yes,” said Tong Wei with a smile. Her face was as pretty as a flower.
Wang Yao drove Tong Wei to work after breakfast.
“You don’t need to go to work if you are not well,” said Wang Yao.
He could tell that Tong Wei hadn’t completely recovered from the shock caused by the horrible event the other night. He was a bit worried about her.
“I’m fine. I won’t be alone. I’ve got my colleagues with me,” said Tong Wei.
“Okay,” said Wang Yao.
Tong Wei went to meet her colleagues in the company, then they went to the airport by bus together.
Wang Yao followed the bus hired by Tong Wei’s company in his car.
There were a lot of people at the airport. Some were parents seeing their children off, some were couples. Tong Wei and Wang Yao stood in the crowd; they could only see each other.
“Be careful when you are in France,” said Wang Yao.
“I will,” said Tong Wei.
“Call me if you need me,” said Wang Yao.
“Sure,” said Tong Wei.
They suddenly felt they had a lot to say to each other.
They would be apart for just a month, not forever, but they would miss each other too much.
Tong Wei kept looking back to Wang Yao as she was walking towards the boarding channel. Wang Yao stood in front of the window to watch the plane taking off to the sky.
He felt a bit of loss. Then, he drove from Dao City back to Lianshan.
Meanwhile, the doctors were busy working in the Haiqu City Hospital.
“Are they getting any better?” asked a doctor.
“No, we can’t analyze the components of the toxin in such a short period of time. Without the antidote, we’ll barely keep them alive and stop their condition from deteriorating,” said another doctor.
The doctors in Haiqu City Hospital were worried about the patients who were recently admitted to the emergency department.
They knew those patients were poisoned.
Their symptoms were similar to patients suffering from a snake bite. The doctors had tried some medication on the patients, but it didn’t work. The leaders from the police department in the city called to ask about those patients and that made the doctors feel quite stressed.
“We need to arrange a meeting again to discuss a treatment plan,” said a consultant.
“I will arrange it right now,” said the medical administrator.
…
There was also something happening in Lianshan Hospital.
A doctor was holding a glass bottle, and he was a bit confused. He didn’t know what to do with it. He found the bottle when he came out of his office this morning. There was a note stuck to the bottle.
The note said, “This is the antidote for the policemen.”
After thinking for a while, he went to his supervisor. After all, he didn’t have the authority to deal with such a big thing. He also heard that the other five patients suffering from the same toxin were not well in Haiqu City Hospital. They were still unconscious, and their fever wouldn’t go away.

“We’ll keep a small portion of the antidote to analyze and send the rest to Haiqu City Hospital,” suggested the doctor’s supervisor.
The antidote was sent to Haiqu City Hospital immediately. The doctors in Haiqu City Hospital analyzed the antidote in the laboratory with suspicion but found it was actually effective. Those unconscious patients woke up after a short while. The whole thing stirred huge curiosity among the doctors who had been treating those patients. The hospital analyzed the components of the antidote.
Anyway, the five patients were no longer in danger. The doctors were all relieved. They could report to the police department.
Meanwhile, Wang Yao went back to his home.
“What? Tong Wei went to France?” said Zhang Xiuying in shock. Her eyes opened widely. Although Wang Yao mentioned it briefly that Tong Wei would travel overseas recently, she had no idea when she would leave and where she was going.
“All the way to France!” said Zhang Xiuying.
“That’s fine, Mom. She’s only going to stay there for a month. She will come back!” said Wang Yao with a smile.
“What do you know, silly boy? People will change,” said Zhang Xiuying with a sigh.
Change?
Wang Yao smiled.
He then took another two packs of herbs to Nanshan hill. The herbs brought by Chen Boyuan had almost run out. He sold all those herbs to the medicine shop for bonus points.
That should be enough.
Wang Yao had had enough bonus points to buy Everlasting grass and Lingshanji for brewing Muscle Revitalizing powder.
Meanwhile, inside the prison at Lianshan town center, two prisoners were heavily guarded.
“They could stand up in less than three days! I doubt if they were human beings,” said a policeman on duty. He was talking about the special prisoners in a special prison.
“Fortunately, people from the county will come back today,” said another policeman.
The young man in a prisoner uniform smiled.
…
“Why are you smiling like this?” asked Wang Yao.
He was with Wei Hai on Nanshan hill.
“I went to Dao City yesterday and had myself checked at the hospital. The doctor told me that I’m almost fully recovered,” said Wei Hai excitedly.
Considering he was vomiting and almost died several months ago, the change of his health status was huge. Thanks to Wang Yao, he could almost fully recover. If he hadn’t known Wang Yao, he would probably have died by now.
“It is good news indeed,” said Wang Yao.
“Can you check my pulse?” asked Wei Hai.
“Of course,” said Wang Yao.
Actually, he had just checked Wei Hai’s pulse a few days ago and knew that Wei Hai had been recovering well. The equipment in the hospital couldn’t detect the eggs of parasites deep in Wei Hai’s liver. The eggs were the most difficult things to remove. If they were not removed completely, they would be like time bombs affecting Wei Hai’s health at any time.
“You should continue to take the decoctions and try to increase the dosage,” said Wang Yao after thinking for a while.
“Increase the dose? Actually, I don’t have much left,” said Wei Hai. This why he visited Wang Yao.
“Okay, just one minute,” said Wang Yao.
Wang Yao started to brew a decoction for Wei Hai immediately. Deworming powder didn’t require many herbs; it was easy to brew it.
For most people like Wei Hai, brewing decoctions was boring. He sat next to Wang Yao to observe him brew the decoction. Wang Yao sat quietly next to the multifunctional pot like an old monk who was very calm and had no worldly passions. He occasionally added some firewood and put the herbs into the pot one by one. Soon, the nice smell of herbs wafted out.
It took Wang Yao over one hour to complete brewing a decoction.
“Done.” Wang Yao poured the decoction into a porcelain bottle and gave the bottle to Wei Hai.
“Thank you,” said Wei Hai.
By the time Wei Hai was ready to go, Wang Yao had another visitor.
“Hey, Wei Hai, I saw your car parked outside,” said Wang Mingbao.
“Hi, Mingbao, how come you are here today?” asked Wei Hai.
“My grandpa is going to dig a grave today, I came back to help him,” said Wang Mingbao.
It was a cultural custom in the village to dig graves for elders who were still alive.
“Are you ready to clean up the houses you bought recently?” asked Wang Mingbao.
“Yes, I’ve completed all the paperwork,” said Wang Yao.
“Do you want to have lunch at my grandpa’s place?” asked Wang Mingbao.
“Not today, sorry.” Wang Yao shook his hand.
When the villagers were digging a grave, they would cook a banquet for family members. They normally wouldn’t invite people who were not family members for lunch.
Wang Yao left Nanshan hill for the houses at the south side of the village in the afternoon. He continued to clean the weeds in the courtyard until late afternoon. More than half of the weeds were cleaned. However, there was still quite a few rubbish in the courtyard.
I should get an expert to clean the courtyard.
Therefore, he called Tian Yuantu to tell him his plan to renovate the houses.
“No problem, I’ll bring some people with me tomorrow,” said Tian Yuantu.
The main business of Tian Yuantu’s Jiahui Group was related to real estate. Tian Yuantu was the expert in the building industry.
The next morning, Tian Yuantu drove to the village with the best building designer in his company. Wang Yao had been waiting at the entrance of the village as he received a call from Tian Yuantu in the morning.
“Is this the place?” asked Tian Yuantu. He was a bit surprised to see the shabby courtyard.

P.A.R.A.D.O.X. PROJECT: Aeon Genesis
The first project focusing on four protagonists within the same world set around fictional 14th-century Europe. This is the first P.A.R.A.D.O.X. PROJECT focusing on 3 (+1) protagonists within the same world set around fictional 14th-century-esque Europe. Each story has its own protagonists (Male or Female Lead), genres (mainly Western Fantasy), and can be read as a standalone. Status: OngoingUpdate(s) per week: 1Words per chapter: 3000 - 6000 *** ‘A human or not; a king or a servant; hope or despair; a hero or a villain.’ Depending on one's perspective and how each story portrays, one will view an individual or a group as evil or virtuous. Because of that, it depends on the reader and listener to believe which one is the truth. More people read and trust multiple (trusted?) sources that either complement or contradict one another. The contradiction becomes the source of debates between those who believe and those who don’t. From that difference in belief, two groups appear: The Majority and The Minority. The majority, having more people, suppress the minorities’ beliefs, claiming theirs, the majorities’, to be the truth. However, the majority are not only composed solely of those who share the same belief but also those who know the truth but afraid to admit it. They have to keep quiet and turn a blind eye for their safety. The majority had to submit to those with power and authority. With the majority under control, those with power and authority can create, manipulate, and/or fabricate truth and lies by force. The reason was for one’s or group’s personal benefits. In the end, there is no such thing as ‘absolute truth’; only sugar-coated lies created by the top. Don’t believe me? It is up to you to decide. Go and read it yourself.

Oublivant
Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis. "Dungons as a whole tend towards the lethal side when it comes to exploring them; however, an oublivant actively seeks out destruction on a grand scale. No greater example of their deep hatred for life exists than the very first discovery of an oublivant. It was a massive dungeon spanning miles in all directions. It continuously expanded along the surface, so fast you could see it, and left nothing but a scorched, withered wasteland in its wake. Wherever the oublivant resides, nothing but the undead exist, as all living life has been eradicated. Why it is, exactly, the oublivant seem so against life so as to break the passive rule dungeons have is unknown. What is known, however, is that they're a threat that, upon discovery, is to be immediately eliminated." - Archomagus Addiom Onero, Court of VascilNote: This is my first story on royal road. It'd be nice if you were nice... nicely.
