Chapter 219: Wonderful Time with a Fine Scenery, but Where were the Flowers Looking Like Snow
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“Wei Hai, seems you are no longer sick. Starting to think of money again?’ said Wang Mingbao with a smile. He knew clearly that Wang Yao preferred a peaceful lifestyle to a busy and noisy lifestyle. It wouldn’t be possible to have a hotel on Nanshan hill.
“No money could buy the peaceful lifestyle here,” said Li Maoshuang.
“Well, just ignore me. I was kidding,” said Wei Hai immediately.
“So how long is your contract for Nanshan hill?” asked Li Maoshuang.
“Twenty years,” said Wang Yao.
“Twenty years is too short,” said Li Maoshuang.
“I don’t think so,” said Wang Yao with a smile.
Without poker, Mahjong, coffee, wine, or music, the four of them just spent the whole afternoon peacefully on the hill.
It started to get dark outside. The red clouds in the sky looked very pretty.
“Aye, I don’t want to leave,” said Li Maoshuang.
“Then stay here,” said Wang Yao with a smile.
“To be honest, your cottage is too small. There are only two rooms here. Will you consider expanding it a bit?” asked Li Maoshuang.
“Okay, I’ll consider it,” said Wang Yao.
It was not an easy task to expand the cottage. The cottage had to be compatible with the hill and the battle array.
“Shall we leave now? We have to leave sooner or later,” said Li Maoshuang.
“You guys can stay for dinner,” said Wang Yao.
“No, thanks. I have to go home,” said Li Maoshuang.
Wang Yao’s three friends stayed on the hill for nearly three hours. When they left the cottage, they felt much more comfortable than when they had just arrived. When they came out of the spirit gathering battle array, they felt the obvious changes around them.
The wind was still blowing on the hill, but it was much warmer than the wind around Wang Yao’s cottage.
“Strange, why did it become so hot?” said Wei Hai.
“Maybe it is because there are more trees on the hill,” said Li Maoshuang.
“When I looked at those trees around the cottage just now, I felt so dizzy; it was as if those trees were moving,” said Wei Hai.
“I had the same feeling,” said Li Maoshuang.
Both Wei Hai and Li Maoshuang set their eyes on Wang Mingbao who had grown up with Wang Yao after all.
“You will get used to it,” said Wang Mingbao.
When he first looked at those trees, he also felt dizzy. So he asked Wang Yao about it. Wang Yao told him that the trees were planted according to certain rules which would make people hallucinate. The longer one stared at the trees, the dizzier they would feel.
The three of them walked down the hill while chatting. Then they left in each of their cars.
Wang Yao tidied up the cottage before leaving.
The herbs brought by Li Maoshuang were still in the front yard. His parents hadn’t come home yet. Wang Yao had a close look at the herbs; then he waved his hand to store part of the herbs in the system. He waved his hand several times until half of the herbs had gone.

“Where did all those herbs go?” Zhang Xiuying noticed something odd when she had arrived home.
“I’ve put them elsewhere,” said Wang Yao.
“Where are your friends? Why not stay for dinner?” asked Zhang Xiuying.
“They’ve got things to do in the evening,” said Wang Yao.
He had dinner with his parents; they had a good time together.
After Wang Yao had returned to Nanshan hill, he took out the herbs he put inside the system earlier, then started to sell those herbs to the medicine shop.
The quality of those herbs was pretty good as Wang Yao had them checked. However, some of the herbs couldn’t be exchanged into bonus points at all. After a whole evening’s work, Wang Yao could only get a couple dozens of bonus points, but he had paid tens of thousands of yuan for those herbs.
The quality of these herbs was even lower than the herbs planted in Wang Yao’s herbal field.
These herbs are not good enough.
Actually, Wang Yao could use a different way to get bonus points. He could sell a Prolongation pill to get enough bonus points to buy everlasting grass and lingjishan for brewing Muscle Revitalization powder. But it was not considered a good deal.
I still have half of the herbs left. It should be just enough to get some bonus points.
A truck of wild herbs couldn’t be exchanged for one single licorice root.
Wang Yao was reading Taoism scriptures under the light.
In an office in Lianshan town center, a middle-aged man was also reading a book.
“Would you like to take a break?” said a woman gently. She was also in the office. She looked at her husband with concern and care in her eyes.
“I’m almost done,” said the middle-aged man.
He was Tian Yuantu. He had stayed in his office up until 10 pm every day for a month.
In fact, he didn’t need to work so hard for such a big company. He could leave things to his employees. Tian Yuantu had made up his mind. He decided to retire after finishing this project. He wanted to enjoy life with his family.
I just need to hold on for a bit longer.
He had made more than enough money to spend for the rest of his life.
Talking about money, how much money was enough?
Super rich people like Li Jiacheng and Bill Gates—were they really happier than ordinary people? Not necessarily. They must have their own worries and concerns. The only difference was that their concerns were different from the ordinary people’s, and they had access to a much richer materialistic life.
People just needed to try to be optimistic sometimes.
What is going on?!
Tian Yuantu suddenly felt dizzy.
He gently rubbed his eyes and massaged his temples. He closed the reading material in his hands after feeling better.
“Let’s go home,” said Tian Yuantu to his wife.
He held onto the desk to stand up.
Strange, why do I feel so weak? Tian Yuantu was panicking.
“What’s going on? You don’t feel well again? Shall we go to the hospital tomorrow to get checked?” asked his wife.
“I should be fine,” said Tian Yuantu.
“Stop being stubborn, you must go to the hospital tomorrow!” his wife insisted.

“Sure, my darling,” said Tian Yuantu.
The couple walked downstairs and drove home. They had been together for dozens of years.
It was almost the middle of the night, and the wind on the hill became less strong.
Wang Yao put the Taoism scriptures away and turned the light off. It became completely dark on Nanshan hill.
I should get enough bonus points tomorrow.
In spite of the beautiful natural scene and the good time, Wang Yao nevertheless had no mood to enjoy it.
Who was singing? Where am I? What is this place? So many apricot flowers around, like snow.
There was a girl in white dress dancing among the flowers. Her movements were so smooth and pretty.
Where am I?
“Do you remember the broken bridge and the snow left on the bridge? Do you remember I walked through the bridge holding onto the railings again and again? Do you remember I’ve been waiting for you my whole life?” said the girl in the white dress.
She was like a goddess. Suddenly, she turned her head around.
Who?
By the time Wang Yao woke up, it was light outside.
What a strange dream!
He dreamed again. In his dream, he was in a sea of flowers. Those flowers were as white as snow. This was very unusual for Wang Yao. Since he started to study Taoism, he had become fitter than most people, and he had never dreamed. It was really strange for him to dream for several nights in a row. He could remember what he had dreamed last night but couldn’t recall anything from the previous dreams.
What someone thought about during the day, they would dream of it at night. But Wang Yao didn’t think about anything during the day. Why did he have such strange dreams at night?
Wang Yao went back to Nanshan hill after washing up to start his breathing exercises and working in the herbal field.
Nothing he experienced during the day had anything to do with his dreams.
Now, Wang Yao had a problem. If someone had a lot of stuff stored at home, and that stuff could be transferred to a different place in a blink of an eye by some astounding method, how would someone transfer them without the knowledge of their family?
The answer was to wait until when no one was at home.
This was the problem Wang Yao was facing currently.
Both of his parents were at home. He couldn’t transfer the big pile of wild herbs in the front yard to the system at once. He had to wait until his parents had gone out.
I have to wait.
So, Wang Yao transferred all the wild herbs into the cabinets of the system when his parents were not home in the afternoon. Then, he returned to Nanshan hill.
After selling all the wild herbs, Wang Yao had enough bonus points to buy the two licorice roots for Muscle Revitalization powder.
But after he had bought the two licorice roots, he barely had any bonus points left.
Aye!
Wang Yao sighed, and he eventually chose to buy those two licorice roots.
The function of everlasting grass included settling five internal organs, compensating the damage to the organs, and enhancing vitality.
The leaves of everlasting grass were similar to clivia leaves, but thicker. They were light green and hard.
The function of lingshanji included expelling toxins, clearing bacteria, facilitating the growth of muscles, and reducing pain.
The part being used in the decoction was the stem of lingshanji. Its shape was similar to eggs, and it had irregular circles on it.
He also required Guiyuan, which Wang Yao had bought a while ago. He still had some in the stock, which was enough to brew one decoction. He bought all the other required herbs from Li Maoshuang.
Now, Wang Yao had all the herbs ready, so he could start brewing the decoction.
Wang Yao looked through the window and found it was getting dark outside.
After sunset, the Yin energy would start to dominate.
Looks like I have to wait until tomorrow.
“Wait? Wait still? How long should I wait for?” A woman was arguing with her husband in Beijing, thousands of miles away from Lianshan.
“Xiaoxue is still lying in bed; her condition could deteriorate anytime, and you just sit here and do nothing!” She became increasingly agitated as she spoke. Her body was shaking.
“What do you want to do?” asked the woman’s husband.
“Ask that Dr. Wang to come back!” said the woman.
“Ask? How daring!” The woman’s husband suddenly hit the arm of a wooden chair.
“Who do you think you are? What do you think of my family? Are you asking me to force Dr. Wang to come? Do you really want to save your daughter?” The woman’s husband was sitting there looking serious. He had a unique aura.
“The only thing you are capable of is arguing with me! Show your capacity to save your daughter!” said the woman.
She made her husband speechless.
Yes, he was powerful, and his family was powerful. He also had two sons who were doing really well with their career. He seemed to have a good life and was often complimented by people. But, he couldn’t do anything to save his daughter, his favorite child, who had been lying in bed for years due to her illness.
“I will talk to my father and ask Boyuan to visit Dr. Wang again,” said the woman’s husband.
Sometimes, even powerful people could feel powerless about certain things.
Tomorrow is not going to be a good day, thought Wang Yao.
He sat in front of his cottage looking at the sky. Some clouds shaded the waning moon in the sky.
This was not the first time Wang Yao observed the sky. He had been practicing how to observe the changes in the sky. Plus, with the knowledge he had obtained from the Taoism scripture, Wang Yao was able to predict certain things such as the weather though observing the stars in the sky. But he still couldn’t understand the more mysterious things.
It was gloomy the next day as if one could touch the dark clouds from the top of the hills.
Is it going to rain?
Wang Yao walked around Nanshan hill after his breathing exercises. Soon, he found some firewood.

It'll go up on Kindle Unlimited after that. How do you get those extra chapters I didn't have planned for RR? If you want them, they'll be in the published book. Book 2 will still make sense without them - I made sure of that. But... isn't $3 a lot for extra chapters? Think of it as tipping me for a good job and you'd also be getting my eternal thanks. If you enjoyed it so much that the idea of missing out a few chapters haunts you, I did my job as an author and made an engaging story. What's in those extra chapters? Resolving a few issues, set up for the cybernetic revolution, a rather intense sex scene with a new partner, revelations of who's really pulling strings, and a bit of set up for book 2. Complaints that people missed out on it when it was published here won't help (sorry!). I posted this for the folks who helped me shape the book, which is you all! (Again, yay!) But... Why! Why not keep it all on RR forever? My editor likes being paid for one. For two, I'd like the ability to get broader readership. If I break even on editor costs, I'll be incredibly happy. What about book 2? Drafts for Book 2 will go up around Sept 10. My draft of Book 2 is done, and it will be handed to the editor once Book 1 is published. Feedback has been even more positive. Beta readers devoured it and wanted more. I'll add a link to Book 2 once it's up on RR. I'm more or less, using you all for Beta Readers, so you get it before it's "canon" and edited. I invite active and meaningful feedback during this process. In return, you get early access to chapters. That does mean that the book content or plot might be adjusted before it gets published as I refine it. Sex Y/N? Yes. I heard the feedback, 90% wanted it explicit. You all will get the "full" experience. Will I dump all of book 2 here? Honestly, I'm not sure yet. At a minimum, it'll be up to the 75% mark as we collect feedback, much like what I did with book 1. It really depends on how good the feedback is and how nice people are. Lots of support + meaningful feedback to make it better = higher likelihood you get all the book. Will be it up here indefinitely? No, it'll probably go up on KU at some point, but I'll make sure there's enough time for a large readership to grab it here. Then we move to book 3 which already is around 60K words already. What about other adventures in the same universe/characters? Yep. Absolutely. Nothing ready to share yet though. I plan to keep those side chapters and more slice of life stories as RR exclusive. Since I'm carving this off in book-sized segments, I'll have to figure out where those disconnected story arcs belong. I'm open to suggestions.
