Chapter 63: Classmate Gathering, Blind-Dating
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
“Just these two people?” Wang Yao asked since he worried about the others.
“Yes. Just those two.”
“Okay, thank you, Uncle Li.”
“They made a promise to one another so you wouldn’t find out,” Wang Jianli said.
“Got it, but I would keep investigating to see if they still want to destroy my field!” Wang Yao said.
After that, Wang Jianli talked with his parents and then he stood up to leave.
“Yao, what has your uncle said to you? You guys are so secretive?” Zhang Xiuying asked curiously.
“Nothing too big. He just asked why I plant the herbs in the winter since some villagers asked it.” Wang Yao said what he had prepared before.
“Ah. So what did you say?”
“I didn’t tell him the reality since he would ask me for the microbial fertilizer; that would be embarrassing. So, I just told him that the herbs were different, and they were evergreen species in all four seasons.”
“So how about the trees?”
“I talk to them every day and I planted some Chinese medicine,” Wang Yao said peacefully.
“What? Did he believe that?”
“I don’t know. I really do that, though.”
“What?” Zhang Xiuying asked.
“I will talk to plants when I am free. It is mentioned in the book that will promote their growth.”
“Yao, has planting in the field made you crazy? Can plants hear what we say?”
“Yes. Technically, it is true and effective,” Wang Yao said.
Wang Yao tried so hard to lie to his mom. He stayed at home for a while and then he went to Nanshan hill.
At night, the hill was silent.
Most people would not stay alone on a remote hill at night for fear of danger. In fact, Wang Yao had been scared to stay on the hill at night initially, so he got San Xian as company and protection. As time went on, he became adjusted to it slowly. Currently, he even enjoyed the quietness of the hill. The quiet night was different from the daytime. It was also quite during the day but there were also visitors and birds occasionally; however, it was completely quiet at night. There were also no other voices on the hill except for the wind.

…
In the dimly lit cottage.
Wang Yao lied on his bed with the book, Natural Classics in his hand and he read intently.
The next day, it was sunny. In the morning, Wang Yao went down the hill as Wang Ru was coming up to the hill.
“Sis, why do you come here?”
“Hey, can’t I come here?!” Wang Ru was so unhappy when she heard that.
“Yes, but aren’t you going back to town?”
“What can I do in town? Today is Saturday; I am off, so I can spend some time with our parents.”
“You can spend time with them at home, so why do you come to the hill in the morning?”
“I want to ask you something,” Wang Ru said. Having entered the cottage, Wang Ru looked at Wang Yao with eyes that could pierce through wood.
“Sis, can you talk to me straight?” Wang Yao asked, nervous.
“You tell me, what vehicle have you bought?” Wang Ru asked.
“It is Tiguan!”
“Bullshit. I have driven a Tiguan before, but this is so different!”
Last afternoon, Wang Ru took the car keys and she noticed it was different when she drove it. It was so luxurious. She had sat in a Tiguan many times since three of her colleagues had the car, but the interior was very different from Wang Yao’s. Then she got out to observe the vehicle and she found that it seemed to be larger.
“I bought the better version,” Wang Yao said.
“Stop trying to fool me. You bought a Touareg—that is the better version. It should cost one million yuan? I checked online last night.” She checked with her mobile phone when she found something different with the car. She was shocked after that since he bought a one-million-yuan vehicle.

“So what do you want to ask me?”
“How did you earn the money?”
“By planting herbs,” Wang Yao said calmly.
“Planting herbs. What kind of herbs?” Wang Ru looked at the field and suddenly her eyes shone.
“That’s a secret.”
“A secret—you dare to be secretive with me!? Is it the ginseng, glossy ganoderma, antler and marten?”
“Antler? Marten? Sis, are you kidding me?” Wang Yao said with a smile, “I don’t even have those.”
“Okay. I will come to you if I have no money,” Wang Ru said happily.
“I think, you should ask my brother-in-law in the future,” Wang Yao said with a smile. Certainly, he was just a kidding. He would help his sister if she was in need, no matter money or medicinal herbs or anything else.
Wang Ru left after staying on the hill for an hour.
At noon, there was mutton for lunch. Wang Yao’s mom asked him to come down to get something to eat. During lunch, there was a phone call for Wang Yao and he found that it was Yang Ming.
“Hey, Yang Ming?”
“Wang Yao, you should not forget the classmate gathering tonight. You should come early in the afternoon.”
“Hey, I….” Wang Yao tried to decline.
“Okay, I will end the call now!” Yang Ming cut the call.
“Classmate gathering?!” Zhang Xiuying said.
“Yes, but I am not going there,” Wang Yao said.
“Why not?! You should go!”
“Why should I go there?!” Wang Yao was confused since it was unexpected that his mom would be so excited about it.
“Classmates should be associated with; maybe they would be useful for you. The main thing is that you could pick up a daughter-in-law for me if there is a suitable one,” Zhang Xiuying said with a smile.
“I won’t go there.”
“You have to go there. Then you can send your sister to town. Ru, you should be his supervisor!” Zhang Xiuying said slowly.
“Yes. I promise to finish the task!” Wang Ru replied quickly and clearly.
“But what about Nanshan hill?” Wang Yao asked.
“I will go look after the hill. You just go,” Wang Fenghua said.
His parents told him to go, so Wang Yao had to go there.
“You should go early this afternoon and you should be dressed well,” Zhang Xiuying said.
Having finished lunch, Wang Yao went back to Nanshan hill and he came back the cottage to read his books.
It was just 4 pm and his father came to the hill.
“Dad, you are so early?”
“You should go there early and talk with your classmates,” Wang Fenghua said directly.
“Ah, it is a little bit cold on the hill; I will come back soon tonight.”
“No, you have no need to rush back.”
“What?” Wang Yao was confused.
“Stop it. Hurry up. Go change into something better.”
“Okay.”
So, Wang Yao was asked to get off the hill and then he went back home. He found that his mother had prepared a suit for him in advance—a trim suit.
“Mom, I’m just going to a classmate gathering, not job-hunting or a date. I’ll be laughed by the others.”
