Chapter 4: All of These Are Rubbish
Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
He had to find some way to stall the contract for a longer time! An idea flashed through his mind. According to the contract, Wang Yao contracted the hill for five years with 50 thousand yuan. But five years was not enough! What if someone else wanted to contract the hill during the time that sealwort was in good harvest, just so that they could make a lot of money? What should he do then? The key thing was that he should lie to his parents.
Yes, I need to think of a good solution. Ah, I should fertilize the herbs!
He tried to open the organic fertilizer that he was ready to apply to the field but failed.
Any synthetic fertilizer is forbidden for this mission.
He thought there must have been a mistake and he hurried to open the system panel. Certainly, there must be a reason behind the remark of the system.
“No fertilizing? But it’s organic.” Wang Yao tried to talk with the system.
All of these are rubbish. You are a disgrace to all pharmacists!
“Shit…” Wang Yao was dazed.
It was forbidden to use organic fertilizer, so what should he do? Just water the herbs with ancient spring every day? Wang Yao had to give up when system forbade something. He checked the herbal field carefully and then he went back to his room to think. However, nothing useful hit him, so he went back to his home when it was dark.
Wang Yao heard some terrible news when he arrived back home.
“What? A blind date!?”
His mother had arranged a blind date for him without his consent.
“What are you barking for? You are 26 years old. Xiao Wu is two years younger than you, but his son can already walk around the village.” Zhang Xiuying stared at him.

“No, Mom, can you discuss things like this with me first?” Wang Yao was frightened when his mom stared at him.
“There is no need to discuss. It is decided that you’ll meet with her tomorrow morning. I have seen the girl and she looks beautiful. The family is also good. She works in the People’s Hospital in the county, so she deserves someone like you—you two should get along well together!” Zhang Xiuying threatened him with her words.
“Oh.” Wang Yao replied powerlessly.
He hated blind dates so much. More importantly, he did not want to marry right now. He had nothing important in these past couple of years, but now there was the magic pharmacist system; it was the turning point of his life. He had no time to fall in love with someone since several acres of herbal fields still required his supervision.
I hope that girl won’t like me! Wang Yao had prayed before the meeting.
The next morning, Wang Yao got up early and brushed his teeth before eating some breakfast and going up to the hill.
“Don’t be a bad boy! Make sure to come back early!” Zhang Xiuying shouted after him.
“Got it, Mom!”
Wang Yao found that the sealwort grew a little bit more, so he took out the kettle as usual.
Hm?
Wang Yao surprisingly found that the constitution in the attributes of his body had been 1.1 when he opened the system panel.
I remember that it was at one last time—is this because of the ancient spring?
He saved some of the spring water especially for drinking. Wang Yao also gave San Xian some of it to drink, and then used the rest to water the fields and the dozens of trees nearby.
After he finished watering the fields, his phone rang. When he answered the phone, he heard the yelling of his mom.

“Come down from the hill right now! She’s on her way!”
“So early? How can that be?”
Wang Yao didn’t want to go on the blind date, but he still quickly packed up his things. He poured out some food for San Xian and then rushed back down from the hill. He found his mom waiting for him with a suit of clothes when he was back home.
“Change into it.”
“Really, Mom?”
“No bullshit. Change into it, quick!” Zhang Xiuying raised her voice, so Wang Yao had to change into the suit.
Wang Yao put on the pants and t-shirt and wore a pair of leather shoes. His entire person had been changed when he dressed up.
He was very nerdy looking during his four years at college, but during these past 3 years he had also become brisk and tough. He was a mixed image and had the handsome looks of Jin Chengwu. Wang Yao was looking good.
“Go shave your beard!” Zhang Xiuying looked at him and pointed at his face.
There was knocking from outside at approximately 10 am.
“She is here, and you must be on your best behavior!”
Zhang Xiuying hurried to open the door and there stood two women—one woman who was in her 40’s and a young lady who was in her 20’s.
“You are so kind. You didn’t have to bring any presents.” Zhang Xiuying smiled and led these two women to the house. Then, she introduced her son to them.
“Auntie, you have a seat.” Wang Yao made tea skillfully.
The four of them talked for a while. Wang Yao’s mother and the middle-aged mostly woman talked about the daily life of their families. During the process, Wang Yao knew that the slim girl with the thin eyebrows and big eyes was Li Xiaoyan. She looked beautiful and she worked at People’s Hospital at the county as a nurse.
“How about we let them talk with each other?”
“Okay. We should not bother them.”
Zhang Xiuying and the woman sharing the same family name finally went out, leaving Wang Yao and the young lady by themselves. They were a bit embarrassed.
“Where do you work?” Li Xiaoyan asked first.
“At home.” As for the question, Wang Yao didn’t want to reply but he had to tell her.
“At home?” Li Xiaoyan was dazed. Her aunt told her that he was a graduate of a famous university on their way to the village.
What does he do at home? Is he a farmer?
“I contracted a hill to plant herbs!”
“Plant herbs? Isn’t that difficult?” Li Xiaoyan asked curiously.
“It is a little bit hard at the very beginning, but it is better now. Here, drink some tea.”
“Thank you.” Li Xiaoyan took the teacup to have a drink, but her hand was trembling suddenly. She was embarrassed but then she quickly recovered.
“Do you plan to do it for life?”
“It depends. I may change to another job.”
“In the town?”
“Yes.” Wang Yao nodded but he had no plans of going to town to work.
This was their first meeting and there was nothing in common between them. The conversation was plain and dull without any interest; it was torture for them both. Much time had passed before Zhang Xiuying and the middle-aged woman came back inside. Wang Yao and Li Xiaoyan both took a breath.
It was almost noon. Zhang Xiuying did want to have a lunch with them, but they made an excuse to leave early.
When the guests left, Zhang Xiuying hurriedly asked Wang Yao some questions.
“So? I think that girl is good. She has a good figure and a beautiful appearance. She is even the same age as you!”

The Merchant Prince Book 1: Returning Home
Enter a world of deceit and assassins. Augustus DeCastellian is a member of a wealthy merchant family, with ports all over the known world. He is sent on a voyage to new lands to open trade routes, but when he returns he will need to fight, using his tools of manipulation and cunning, for what he is owed.Author's note: This story is somewhat slow-paced, especially in comparison to the norm on Royal Road. The first three chapters act almost as a prologue, to give you a feel for what the rest of the story will be like. So, I suggest new readers try to get to the end of chapter 3 before deciding if this story is for them.A few of my reviews have said that this story is abnormal for Royal Road. I agree with that sentiment, at least based on what I've read on the site. It was just an idea that was in my head, that I began trying to write once my hobbies were cancelled due to the virus. I found Royal Road after I started writing it. Honestly, it's probably not even tailored for the web-novel format. But it's the story I wanted to tell. Discord: https://discord.gg/sk63gep

I'm writing fiction. But I'm not a writer, I'm just a reader. :) P.s ------------------------------------------------- Story Progress: 1. Blurb is fulfilled on Chapter Three and Chapter Four 2. Story Arc One, The Savior is fulfilled on Story Arc Five 3. Yes, there is fighting scenes. Three Calamities have been Eliminated in Dandia -- The wide island. 4. The prologue is nearing to begin. 5. Too many conflicts. ------------------------------------------------- Past tense - When I just narrate a past without much actual actions. I mean like a news, or just telling or reporting the past. Present tense - Current event. And flashback with actions. I love flash fiction so world building is not on this story, like narrating a room, narrating a character's traits, etc. As possible, I want them to think, have their decision, etc. etc. etc. etc. Hallo guys, Help me locate my typos on Story Arc 5. I still don't want to edit Story Arc 1-4. I can't wait to reach story arc Chapter Six(I won't spoil). My outlines and very huge flowcharts are waiting. Sorry, about that, I can understand English without format so, each time I'm looking for typos I was hooked in my story and I didn't realize I forgot about them.
