Chapter 490: Secret Plane Shattered Again

Just look at what those things were!
Zhang Che almost erupted in anger when he got his hands on those so-called secret weapons.
Those things could be counted as secret weapons? Were those foreigners here to act out a comedy skit?
What appeared in front of Zhang Che was a row of three briefcase-like objects. They were naturally not some kind of powerful beast card weapon Zhang Che had imagined, but modern technological objects.
In fact, the three briefcases were actually holding three small but very destructive warheads. Those who had entered the past secret planes had discovered that technological products could function properly in almost every secret plane.
As such, that General Mihill person had his subordinates bring these things in here!
Zhaang Che didn’t know if the warheads could be detonated in this secret plane, but it was undeniable that the things were indeed very destructive. If he was caught in their trap, there was a good chance he would really die! But the problem was, they weren’t that valuable!
Zhang Che was very dissatisfied with his spoils of war. At the same time, he felt a little fear inside. Luckily the secret plane this time was very peculiar, and he had ran into that black brother called Phil first. Otherwise, he might have really found himself in danger!
“They are actually using even nuclear warheads to deal with me!” Zhang Che felt his anger rising from the bottom of his feet all the way to the top of his head. He really wished he could return to Mercury right away and throw these three miniature nuclear warheads back at his enemies’ headquarters. Let that Mihill guy have a taste of his own medicine!
Aside from his fear, Zhang Che was very dissatisfied. “Freaking hell, only those two epic-quality subdued beasts with no False Domains are worth some money. Everything else is trash.”

After thinking for a moment, he stashed the three briefcases away in his spatial storage. He looked at the group of mid-tier beastmasters under the Psychedelic Ghost-Patterned Butterfly’s control in front of him, heavy killing intent coming from his eyes.
Since they had planned to murder him, they could forget about leaving this place alive. Soon, these mid-tier beastmasters, their valuables all stripped away, were directly frozen into ice sculptures by the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon with a stream of cold air, and then shattered into countless bits on the ground.
Zhang Che didn’t care whether they would pollute his secret plane. Heavens knew how many people had died to the wave of light rays earlier. Zhang Che couldn’t be bothered anymore.
In any case, he had decided to never consume any living creatures in here in the future, especially the sea creatures!
Despite watching those mid-tier beastmasters being killed at his command without any resistance, or even knowing what was happening, Zhang Che’s hatred didn’t simmer down at all. He grit his teeth, saying, “Mihill, right? Just you wait! I’ll definitely go pay you a visit when I advance to Tier Seven beastmaster!”
Zhang Che’s mood was completely ruined by the three briefcases. He didn’t want to stay here a second longer.
Although it was already late, not sleeping for a night was nothing for a mid-tier beastmaster. As such, Zhang Che immediately let the rainbow crystal go to work, tell it to show signs of the secret plane collapsing and send everyone, including himself, out!
In the next moment, lights shone in all colors throughout the heavens and earth. The whole world trembled. Afterwards, fragments of the space broke out out of nowhere, like doomsday had arrived.
——
“Damn it, what’s going on now? Is some terrifying attack about to befall us again?”
The beastmasters in the secret plane who were fortunate enough to survive the attack earlier were alarmed.

The rain of light from before was terrifying enough; many of them had witnessed their companions dying tragically to those unassuming rays due to carelessness, or failing to hide under a shelter in time.
Now, another change was occurring! Could it be that an even more terrifying crisis was about to arrive?
The beastmasters who had prior experience of entering a secret plane thought of an unbelievable possibility. “Damn, is this… is the secret plane about to break down?!”
The situation right now was too similar to the signs of when a secret plane was about to collapse. However, based on the past appearances of secret planes, they should stick around for a month or two, perhaps even as long as half a year!
Counting the time, it hadn’t even been a day since they entered the secret plane, right? Why would it shatter just like that!?
Alas, the collapse of the secret plane wasn’t something the people could control. Soon, as the trembling of the world grew increasingly violent, everyone felt a repelling force born from the space around them. It instantly grew very strong and transferred every beastmaster out of the secret plane!
——
Back on Mercury, in the mountain range in the western Nan Mei region…
At this moment, there were still some beastmasters making their way towards the massive door emitting purple light in the center of the area.
They were either weak or had cautious temperaments, not wanting to provoke the powerful exotic beasts. They wanted to make their way forward sneakily and enter the secret plane safely.
After all, it had been less than ten hours since the first batch of beastmasters entered the secret plane. It was no big deal if they were a little slower.
Resources were abundant in the secret plane. Going in a day or two earlier actually didn’t make much of a difference. In the end, destiny and luck was what decided how much they gained!
Suddenly, the hundred-meters-tall purple spatial gateway standing silently in the air burst out in intense purple light. The blinding purple light shot straight up into the heavens.
“This… what’s happening?”
“Impossible. Could it be…”
Everyone who was paying attention to the area saw this. They couldn’t help but stare in shock.
This situation seemed off. Weren’t secret planes supposed to last a long period of time before they closed?
Seeing this familiar scene, some people immediately had unpleasant guesses in their hearts. Many people had witnessed a similar scene less than half a year ago at the ice plains in northern Hua Xia.
A few breaths of time later, as the light shone brighter and brighter, the hundred-meter-tall purple spatial gateway suddenly shattered, disappearing into the void silently, like it had never appeared.
In the next moment, countless fluctuations suddenly appeared in the air. Spatial ripples spread, and beastmasters appeared out of nowhere in the skies, one after another, crying in shock as they fell towards the ground.
Of course, every beastmaster who came for the secret plane had their own flying mounts. Some even had more than one!. As such, although they were falling from the sky, they weren’t in any danger. They immediately summoned out their respective flying subdued beasts to catch them.
The whole world was shocked. Wasn’t this too freaking bizarre? Not even four days had passed since the first appearance of the purple spatial gateway, and the secret plane had already collapsed, or had lost its connection to Mercury.
Everyone here, and those who saw it through the satellite feed, were thoroughly baffled.
It wasn’t that they didn’t understand what was going on, but that the world was changing too quickly…

Paladin
When the first derelict alien spacecraft fell to Earth, humanity took what was found in it and propelled themselves to new heights. In their new Golden Age, humanity developed technology that they had only dreamed about. The following years saw hundreds more ships crash into the planet, spurring even greater technological leaps. An unassuming spacecraft, one of the dozens that fell yearly, descended on Siberia in 2021. The world took no particular notice of it. However, this one contained something beyond the miraculous technology that had made humans so prosperous. Three years later, in a top-secret underground facility in eastern Colorado, the automated construction of an army of Paladin Mobile Infantry Suits was underway. With this new, state-of-the-art weaponry, the military would turn the tide against the alien incursion that was consuming the planet. Humanity fell before that could happen. Sam was an engineer responsible for overseeing the facility. Now alone, he lives in utter boredom and near insanity, his only company the base’s pseudo AI and an army of empty Paladins. With the world gone to hell around him, and the things that caused it still living above, he decides that he is much better off staying exactly where he is. Unfortunately for him, that is no longer an option. This is the first novel I've written. The first fifteen or so chapters are going to be a little slower. I want there to be time to get to know the characters before they start blowing stuff up. Also, though the MC will be strong relative to the world, he won't be OP, and won't win every fight. Not every fight will be physical either. Currently, I'm aiming for something like 5 fairly short chapters a week, after the introduction part is done, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for reading, and please let me know if I've made mistakes!
