Chapter 454: The End of the Haotian Gang
Translator: Exodus Tales Editor: Exodus Tales
Edited by Aelryinth
Rustle, rustle… A wave of messy footstep sounds rang out in the devastated forest.
Shallow footprints were left behind on the firm snowy ground everywhere the Haotian Gang’s elites walked. At the same time, they were looking around cautiously, and would look to their feet from time to time.
If there were any exotic beasts’ active in the area, surely they’d leave footprints on the snow, and wouldn’t go unnoticed. Of course, it’d be a different story if it were flying exotic beasts.
In fact, they had indeed discovered the tracks of quite a few exotic beasts through this method. However, those exotic beasts were too weak, and didn’t give much profit to the Haotian Gang.
After all, only Sun Haotian had a storage-type beast card of all of the Haotian Gang. The storage space wasn’t huge, either, only twenty cubic meters or so. It was known as a Nirvana Snake, a four-star storage-type beast card.
Back then, the Haotian Gang paid an extremely huge price to purchase the beast card from Premium House!
With just this tiny storage space, naturally they wouldn’t waste it on storing those trash exotic beast’s remains. At the very least, only materials from mid-tier exotic beasts were considered worthy of being kept in the precious storage-type beast card.
Suddenly, one of the gang members exclaimed in a suppressed voice, “Big Brother, check out over there!”
Sun Haotian and the others turned their heads, following that member’s gaze. They saw some sink-sized, foot-deep footprints in the valley to the front and side, between the fallen trees, extending towards deeper into the valley.
Needless to say, if that exotic beast to leave behind such a huge footprint, it definitely wouldn’t be weak. It should be about mid-tier gold-quality, at the very least!
An exotic beast at that level happened to be just within the range the Haotian Gang could hunt without much danger.
“Come, we’ll follow the prints and go have a look!” Sun Haotian commanded, a hint of joy flashing on his face. He led the group as they headed into the valley.
Unbeknownst to them, however, in outer space above them, a military satellite had locked onto their tracks, and was sending their positions to the ground on the other end accurately.
——
About half a day after entering the mountain forest, they finally discovered a decent prey. The Haotian Gang was unusually excited at the prospect, quickly following the footprints in search of their prey.

They searched around in the valley for about ten minutes. When Sun Haotian and the others were about to give up, a commotion was finally heard from ahead.
In the forest several hundred meters ahead, a wave of animals’ frightened cries was suddenly heard.
That exotic beast seemed to have gotten into an extremely dangerous situation and was quickly running for its life, knocking against the trees, causing a huge commotion. Large amounts of snow fell from the branches.
The trail of sink-sized footprints ended right in the forest ahead!
Without a doubt, the prey Sun Haotian’s gang was searching for was currently preying on weaker exotic beasts in the forest!
Sun Haotian turned to look at Sun Haiying, instructing him, “Haiying, have your scouting beast fly over to check out the situation there. We’ll charge right in if that exotic beast isn’t too strong!”
As a medium-sized gang, naturally the Haotian Gang had their own scouting-type subdued beast. This kind of set-up was necessary.
Sun Haiying nodded excitedly. A silvery ray shot out from his brow, directly soaring into the skies and turning into a large sky-blue bird, winging towards the sky above the forest.
Soon, Sun Haiying received information from his scouting beast. He could no longer suppress his excitement and told Sun Haotian, “Big Brother, my Blue Wind Beast has investigated clearly. It’s a huge bear over five meters tall, and is very strong. It wouldn’t be any weaker than mid-tier gold-quality! Perhaps it might even be at mid-tier dark gold-quality!”
“Good, we should be able to hunt it as long as it’s not above mid-tier dark gold-quality!”
A hint of excitement shone in Sun Haotian’s eyes. He waved his hand fiercely. The gang members quickly took their positions, ready to surround the forest ahead.
Although they wouldn’t obtain a beast card from that mid-tier gold-quality or higher exotic beast, the materials they could obtain from its corpse were also worth a lot. It shouldn’t be a problem to sell the materials for tens of millions of dollars.
However, as the gang was stealthily moving forward, outflanking their prey, a wave of buzzing sounds suddenly came from the skies above.
“What’s that sound?” Sun Haotian and the others were slightly taken aback. They looked up and saw a series of fighter jets in the gloomy skies above, homing in from all directions. Their target was obviously this valley they were in.

“Big Brother, those seem to be military fighter jets. Could it be…” Sun Haiying cried out in shock. Before he could finish his sentence, the rapidly approaching fighter jets fired their autocannons, tongue after tongue of flames raining down upon the valley they were in.
“Shit! Run!” the Haotian Gang members cried out in shock, feeling overwhelmed. They could no longer care about the prey in the forest ahead and ran into the nearby forest in different directions.
However, they were a little too slow. Several of the weaker members were shot. Their beast card armors blocked off some of the bullets at first, then mists of blood sprayed from their bodies, falling to the ground as they cried out miserably.
After all, the gang members were only Tier Three or Four beastmasters. The best beast card armors they had were only at silver-quality. It truly wasn’t enough to withstand the concentrated attack from the autocannons.
Sun Haotian and a few of the leading figures, however, were wearing mid-tier gold-quality beast card armors at least. Even if they were struck by the autocannon rounds, they didn’t receive much injury, if at all, and successfully escaped into the devastated forest.
“Big Brother, why did the military’s people come attack us? Did they find out something we did?” Sun Haiying asked in disbelief while running at Sun Haotian’s side at maximum speed. He truly didn’t know what the Haotian Gang did that prompted the military to send out aircraft to exterminate them.
Sun Haotian had a grave expression as he ran deeper into the forest, not answering Sun Haiying. He knew that the matter about them helping foreign factions investigate Zhang Che was probably exposed.
-Damn it. Those Bei Mei bastards are really unreliable. Didn’t they display really powerful abilities? And they failed, too? If I knew this would happen, I wouldn’t have coveted that generous reward!-
Sun Haotian was in deep regret. Alas, whatever happened had happened. It was already too late for regrets. He could only hope to escape the pursuit of the fighter jets. Afterwards, he’d immediately find a chance to leave Hua Xia.
In any case, there was quite a lot of good stuff in his storage-type beast card equipment. Even if he went to the unfamiliar foreign lands, he would be able to live a good life.
Moreover, he still had three mid-tier dark gold-quality subdued beasts. It was totally enough for him to establish himself in a foreign country!
-Hmph hmph, the military is really looking down on me, Sun Haotian, too much! They want to kill me with just a few fighter jets?- Just as Sun Haotian was thinking of that, a few sharp whistles suddenly rang out in the skies. A few missiles came flying towards where he and Sun Haiying were, leaving long trails of flame.
Seeing this, Sun Haiying’s spirits escaped him.
Sun Haotian didn’t mind it. He was wearing a five-star dark gold-quality armor. Those mini-missiles wouldn’t be able to penetrate his armor’s defenses at all. Even the shockwave from the explosion wouldn’t penetrate the armor and hurt him.
Explosion sounds boomed and rumbled, blowing the snow, earth, and trees into the sky. Together with those, the Haotian Gang members were also blown sky-high.
The strongest among those members were only wearing mid-tier gold-quality beast card armors. Even if their armor barely withstood the missiles’ explosion, the resulting impact was enough to shatter their bones and organs, killing them instantly!
“Keep bombing all you want. It’s best to blow this whole area up. I’ll have a chance to escape then!” Sun Haotian ignored the missile explosions around him, only caring to keep running.
In the next moment, however, several powerful auras suddenly appeared in the skies above, making Sun Haotian pale immediately.
That was the powerful aura unique to legend-quality subdued beasts. As the leader of a medium-sized underground gang in Bei Du, Sun Haotian had seen some legend-quality subdued beasts from some big figures, and was very clear on how terrifying those subdued beasts were.
“I’m done for… I didn’t expect the military to actually mobilize legend-quality subdued beasts to kill me. There’s no way I can escape now!”
Sun Haotian lost all hope. He staggered and fell onto the snow, tumbling a few times. He didn’t get up for a long time. He knew he was done for. His Haotian Gang was also finished.
Seeing Sun Haotian falling down, Sun Haiying ran over in a hurry to pick him up, wanting to continue escaping. “Quickly get up, Big Brother. We have to run!”
However, Sun Haotian smiled bitterly, shaking his head, “We can’t escape. The military’s men have legend-quality subdued beasts…”
After he said that, Sun Haiying’s face turned ghostly pale, too…

Rebirth
Rebirth, the process of being reborn. Why does it happen and who really qualifies. We will seek to look into the these questions by following the life of Richard as we experiences this process first hand. We will follow his life and his fight against the evil blue boxes and what comes with all of them. ------------------------------- Update 04-24-18 Just ran a spelling and grammar check on the existing chapters and corrected a lot of little issues. ------------------------------- Just so you know, do not expect detailed sex scenes, or a lot of gore and such. Profanity is probably a given, I added the tag today....I mean you've seen how the Blue Box God talks....I'm shocked our MC has keep his cool so far. Also just FYI, I've got the entire per chapter outline complete for what will end up being book 1. That being said I've discovered over the years that a good outline lasts until you begin to wrote the chapter out. What that means is that even with a good outline because I tend to rethink thing out 4 or 5 times while I write them that it can hold up a chapter from being released. I'd rather hold up a story to make it flow better than rush something out. So while you might see at times a very aggressive release rate, at times you might wonder what happened to me because I've stopped posting. The reason being that after I wrote the chapter I decided it either sucked, didn't flow right or I just decided the direction things were headed no longer seemed right. So I'll stop, review and decide if I need to rewite all of the outlines to changes things up and then rewrite the chapter, or possibly go back and make changes to older chapters if needed. By the way, if I ever decide something needs to change, I will let you know which chapters changed and I'll give you a quick outline of the changes so you can skip the reread if you want. Yes a lot of this story will be told from the third person prespective, though we will listen to Richard tell his story. Expect a lof of behind the scene components. I've never published here before so expect it to take me a try or 2 to get an understanding of the formatting and such. Also I do not post a schedule. Sorry but real life always comes first but I will try and get things steddy.

Reincarnated as a Warlock with zero skill
My previous life was just as boring as yours. I was a marketing manager for a flooring company. The biggest challenge? Would the latest colour be called "Grey Oak" or "Oak Grey". Then, tragedy. I was struck down in the prime of my life by a negligent delivery driver and a pallet of laminate flooring - which is significantly heavier than you think. So there I was, smeared on the floor, absorbed in my own self pity. Where would I go? Heaven? Hell. Did I care? Apparently that was not what fate had in store for me. Reborn in a world of dragons and fantasy, I became a Warlock. A pretty darn important one too. The problem, I had little to no affinity to magic and I spent most of my time doing my best to avoid danger. Danger however, would not avoid me. So, with my new life as an amazing Warlock you'd think it would be easy street right? Wrong. Forces gather to move against the Kingdom I am sworn to protect and, whilst my inward allegiance is to whomever is the victor, outwardly I must lead the resistance against the invaders. With my skilled companions Asha - a mage that can actually do magic and Torg - a swordsman sworn to protect me, I can only hope that they distract the enemy long enough for me to run away.
