Chapter 330: Do You Believe Psychic Abilities Exist in this World?

“Zhang Xiaoche, didn’t you go visit your relatives in Tian Xing City? Why did you call me back in such a hurry?” Huang Tielan asked, smiling brightly as she walked into the villa.
Come on, she was in the middle of a lesson earlier. As a model student, taking a leave of absence was a very bad habit!
Zhang Che walked up and embraced her, chuckling, “Can I say that I miss you and want to see you?”
“Tch , try bluffing a ghost! Can’t you go to school to look for me if you miss me?” Huang Tielan pushed him away, rolling her eyes back. Afterwards, she took a glance at the Umbra Wind God Leopard behind Zhang Che and cried out happily, “Hah, is this a present for me?”
Zhang Che showed an awkward look. “Ugh, he is already my pet. Didn’t you see his eyes are open?”
It was only now that Huang Tielan remembered this. She pouted her lips and said, “Alright then. This little thing is so ugly anyway. I might not like it even if you gave him to me.”
Uh-hrm! Zhang Che cleared his throat, saying, “Alright, let’s talk serious business. I constructed a lab next door. We’re going to concoct cultivation fluid.”
Huang Tielan was surprised. She stared at Zhang Che in disbelief, saying, “Eh? Since when did you learn to concoct cultivation fluid?”
“I don’t know how to. All that matters is you do,” Zhang Che answered in a matter-of-fact manner.
“But my success rate for concocting cultivation fluid isn’t high. It might be possible if you have the recipe; if not, I have no confidence at all.”
Huang Tielan wasn’t even the most junior level beast card cultivator, nor did she have the experience of researching a recipe by herself. If he was to give her a beast card without the matching cultivation fluid recipe, it was almost impossible for her to successfully concoct a cultivation fluid.

While leading Huang Tielan to the villa next door, Zhang Che said, “Don’t worry, I have the recipe. I got to know a powerful guy and asked him to research the recipe for me. This time, our love token can advance further.”
“What love token?” Huang Tielan was taken aback. Her cheeks immediately flushed bright red afterwards, denying him. “Ew, your skin is really thick. I only gave you the beast card because I was afraid you might run into danger in the beast world. You’re thinking too much, young man!”
“Hehe, is that so?”
Zhang Che had a cheap smile plastered all over his face, taunting Miss Tienan into chasing up to him and pinched him on his arm neither lightly nor heavily.
Well, with how strong Zhang Che’s basic defense was now, he didn’t feel any pain at all. However, in order to not strike a blow to her confidence, he cried out in an exaggerated manner, “No, please! I’ll get a bruise!”
“I’ll see if you dare act so shamelessly again!”
Huang Tielan softened inside and let go of her fingers, which she wasn’t exerting much strength to begin with. She suddenly asked, “Right, which amazing beast card cultivator did you get acquainted with? Can you introduce that person to me? I feel like the things I learned in school are still lacking a little.”
Zhang Che’s heart thumped, not knowing if he should continue lying through his teeth. Sometimes, telling a single lie would lead to countless more lies to cover up the story. It would become really torturous to keep up with it later on.
Moreover, with how Huang Tielan treated him, was he still unable to trust her?
Most importantly, the data eyes weren’t Zhang Che’s biggest secret. It was better to explain things clearly to Miss Tielan, or it really wouldn’t make sense if he kept taking out other concoction recipes in the future.
Such a brilliant beast card cultivator had yet to be born in this world, to be able to guarantee every recipe he researched was correct.

After deliberating for some time, Zhang Che decided to confess to Miss Tienan in the end. “Do you believe that psychic abilities exist in this world?”
Huang Tielan was confused. What did this have to do with beast card cultivators?
However, she nodded hesitantly and answered, “They probably do? After all, strange things like the spatial gateways and beast cards have appeared in the world. What is there that is impossible?
While the two chatted, they walked into the villa next door.
Zhang Che stopped at the main hall. First, he sensed his surroundings carefully, then said to Huang Tielan seriously, “I have a psychic ability that allows me to see the attributes of exotic beasts and beast cards in detail. Also, I can also know what the ingredients and the recipe is for the exotic beast to rise to the next level. Theoretically speaking, as long as I can find the required ingredients, I can ensure the advancement of any exotic beast at any level and quality. All I require is a beast card cultivator who is experienced with concocting beast card cultivation fluids.”
Huang Tielan looked Zhang Che from head to tail suspiciously, then asked with her head tilted, “Zhang Xiaoche, are you sure you’re not messing with me?”
Zhang Che sighed inside. -I knew you wouldn’t believe me.-
Of course, that was only human nature. No matter who it was that heard such a ridiculous tale, they would choose to doubt its authenticity at first.
“Come, we’ll go into the lab. Concoct the beast card cultivation fluid according to my recipe, and you’ll know if I’m lying.”
Zhang Che didn’t try to explain any further. He grabbed Huang Tielan’s hand and pulled her into the lab.
“Woah, such a complete and high-end set-up! Many of these things I have only seen before on the internet. Not even the teaching labs in our school have these devices!” Huang Tielan exclaimed excitedly the moment she walked into the lab.
After her initial excitement, she finally realized Zhang Che was being serious. He wouldn’t have spent so much money on this if he was only trying to tease her, right?
“Zhang Xiaoche, is what you said earlier true?”
Zhang Che nodded seriously, “Of course. Did you think I’m really bluffing you?”
Huang Tielan’s eyes immediately lit up. She suppressed her voice, saying, “Shh, lower your voice. You can’t let anyone else hear this. Also, this matter can only be known to the both of us. You can’t be so silly as to go tell another soul, understand? Or there will be big trouble.”
Zhang Che didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
“Do you think I’m that stupid? If it wasn’t because I was afraid you’d suspect me in the future, I wouldn’t have told you that. I didn’t want you to worry.”
“Zhang Xiaoche, you little… you actually weren’t planning on telling me? I’m telling you, no more hugs, and no more kisses. Wait until the day my anger subsides.”
Zhang Xiaoche wanted to cry, but no tears would come out. He reprimanded himself for not filtering his words. Why did he suddenly become such an honest boy?
“Haha, that… actually…” he laughed dryly, “I was only kidding. There’s no way I won’t tell you.”
Miss Tienan ignored him, and directly hurried him, “Faster, tell me the recipe and take out the ingredients. I’m so looking forward to this! I want to see if that special ability of yours is real!”
Zhang Che nodded. He summoned the Fiery Scorpion card from his spiritual sea, then went to get some pen and paper and wrote down the recipe to concoct the cultivation fluid to level up that fellow. Afterwards, he went to the cold storage room at the side and retrieved the required ingredients.
Zhang Che had asked for the store to deliver those ingredients when he was still on his way back. They were delivered right on time, just as he arrived home, and he had put them in the cold storage.
“Hm? Zhang Xiaoche, are you sure you didn’t remember anything wrongly?” Huang Tielan suddenly asked suspiciously when she saw the beast card Zhang Che took out.

Era Of The Kobold
Era of the Kobold Returning July Third! Hi there! Thought I forgot about this series, didn't you? In all seriousness, I am sorry for not posting in such a long time. I've been really busy with other things, mainly my education. However, once July hits and I get the time needed to write, I'll be continuing EotK where we left off. It'll be the regular one chapter a week at least, though I'll try to post more frequently for that month. Hopefully you all have been doing well! I'll see you in July. Synopsis: All he wanted was to spend his life gaming. Samuel was an absolute nerd when it came to video games, RPGs especially. He'd play them all day, rarely leaving his house, or even his room for that matter. His peaceful days were sadly ended before he even finished college, however. Despite his expectations, he finds himself reincarnated in a new world as a Kobold. He must now live a hard life as a weak creature that tends to die young and is seen as a monster. How will he manage in this new life and what will he do with it? The rate of publishing will slow down, as I focus on my education.

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
