Chapter 306: Four-winged White Tiger

Zhang Che’s complexion recovered slightly. He finally realized what was wrong.
His personal terminal couldn’t be broken. Therefore, the signal block must have been activated on the jet.
Thus, the question arose: this fighter plane was only responsible for bringing him back to Bei Du, and not to execute some secret mission. Why was it necessary to block the signals?
Zhang Che swept his gaze around the cabin. He saw the intercom placed at the side and switched it on, asking, “Hello? Brother, can you deactivate the signal block for a minute? I need to make a call.”
The pilot in front didn’t say a word, only focusing on piloting the plane.
Zhang Che looked out the window. He realized the plane was slowly but surely changing its bearing. It wasn’t heading south, but had started to turn towards the east.
Not only that, the jet was quickly picking up altitude. At this moment, he could no longer see the situation on the ground clearly. From time to time, the plane would be surrounded by clouds.
-This is fishy!
-No wonder I felt something amiss when this jet came so quickly. So it’s like this!-
Hundreds of thoughts flew pass his mind. He didn’t recall making any enemies; why would anyone rush to bring him in?
Not only that, they were obviously of high standing, and they were paying attention to him in the dark all this while. Otherwise, how could they guide him into a trap the moment he came out of the secret world?
Zhang Che realized that they must have been monitoring his personal terminal through some means, and his call with Huang Juyun was spied on. That explained why they were so quick with their maneuvers.
However, did they think they could do anything to him with just this little jet?
Unless…
Zhang Che suddenly felt alarmed. A five-colored ray of light rushed out of his brow and materialized into the Purple Crystal Armor, enveloping his whole body.
The Scarlet Meteorite Huge Sword appeared in his hand. He swung it hard at the side of the cabin, cutting open the cabin door.

Violent winds immediately came howling in. The jet completely lost control and started spinning in the air. Meanwhile, Zhang Che stamped his feet and jumped out of the plane.
At that moment, a burst of light suddenly erupted from the belly of the plane. With a loud explosion, the jet instantly turned into a huge ball of flames, its parts scattering in all directions.
Zhang Che only felt a large force suddenly pushing against the Purple Crystal Armor. It felt like he was a baseball struck by a baseball bat, flying far away. He thought he felt his organs shift positions, as a sweet taste appeared in his throat. He nearly vomited a mouthful of fresh blood, barely holding it in.
Although the Purple Crystal Armor had perfectly absorbed the explosion, the shockwave it had produced had inevitably hurt Zhang Che.
“Who exactly was it that sent a suicide warrior to set me up!?”
Realizing he was falling, Zhang Che hurriedly summoned the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon, which caught him in mid-air.
The air around him was flowing fierce and wild. The jet had thoroughly disappeared, leaving only pieces of the plane falling.
“But, aren’t they looking down on me too much? Did they think they could take my life with just that?”
Zhang Che watched the pieces of the jet fall as he rode on the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon’s back. He kept feeling that things weren’t that simple.
Suddenly, he felt a few vibrations from his personal terminal on his left wrist.
He quickly had the Purple Crystal Tortoise dispel its skill and opened his personal terminal. He saw that in just this short period of time, Huang Juyun had called him several times.
Zhang Che hurriedly called back. Soon, Huang Juyun’s anxious voice rose on the other end, “Xiaoche, are you alright?”
Zhang Che knew that the real people sent to fetch him didn’t find him and reported back to Huang Juyun. The matter about him going on another jet must have reached his ears, too.
“Don’t worry, Uncle Huang. I’m fine now. That plane detonated itself, but I’m unhurt.”

“Okay, we’ve locked down your location through the satellite. Fly southwest; the jet will be there to receive you.”
Zhang Che didn’t respond. At this moment, he was looking at the skies above the forest below. As the remnants of the plane fell, a huge white tiger with two pairs of wings on its back suddenly flew into the air. Its eyes were filled with godly spirit and locked onto the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon.
“Hello? Xiaoche, are you listening?” Huang Juyun hurriedly called out through the personal terminal, noticing Zhang Che was not responding.
Zhang Che smiled bitterly and answered, “Uncle Huang, let the jet hold off on coming to me for now. There’s a little bit of trouble here. I’ll go over on my own to look for him later.”
Done talking, he directly ended the call, looking at the rapidly approaching Four-winged White Tiger, his eyes filled with fear.
-So, this is their killing move!-
Zhang Che had to admit that the opposite party was truly something to set up such a death trap for him in just half an hour. The Four-winged White Tiger’s appearance brought an extremely heavy pressure to bear upon him. He realized that this fellow’s strength wouldn’t be so simple.
“I hope it’s not an epic-quality beast, or it’ll be hard to make my escape…”
The Four-winged White Tiger was incredibly fast. Its speed clearly surpassed the sound barrier, but strangely enough, it didn’t produce any sonic boom. In just a few breaths’ time, it reached a high altitude.
Zhang Che’s expression was extremely ugly.
To possess speed surpassing the sound barrier, either this Four-winged White Tiger was at epic-quality, or it was a high-tier beast!
No matter which was it, it was definitely not good news for Zhang Che!
“This won’t do. Given this Four-winged White Tiger’s speed, I definitely can’t fight it in the air, or I won’t have any chance of winning.”
Zhang Che’s mind worked at lightning speed. He immediately ordered the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon to dive down to the ground.
Although the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon wasn’t faster than the speed of sound, it wasn’t too far off, especially since they were now descending. With the help of gravity, they were incredibly close to the speed of sound.
Seeing the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon trying to escape, the Four-winged White Tiger drew a nimble arc in the air, chasing them closely.
Zhang Che felt his scalp going numb seeing this.
It was already so freaking fast, and it could even change direction in the air so nimbly. How terrifyingly strong was this fellow!?
He really wanted to let the Four-winged White Tiger close in a little more to take a look at the fellow’s attributes. However, his rationality told him that doing so was no different from courting death.
“Come, slow it down a little!”
Zhang Che slapped on the Purple Crystal Tortoise’s shell lightly. The latter immediately opened its mouth and morphed the tiny bit of rocks in its storage into rock spears, then activated its skill and shot them all out.
Zhang Che didn’t dare let the Purple Crystal Tortoise use the ferocious beast’s bone spikes to attack. The Four-winged White Tiger was incredibly fast and nimble; even using the Rock Spear Gatling skill might not hit it.
Indeed, facing the rain of rock spears from the Purple Crystal Tortoise, the Four-winged White Tiger’s figure was like the most agile swift. It made a few sharp turns in the clear sky, dodging every single projectile cleanly.
” Si… ”
Although he was mentally prepared for this, seeing the Four-winged White Tiger dodging the Purple Crystal Tortoise’s skill so easily left him sucking in a breath of cold air uncontrollably. His brows were furrowed deeply.
At present, the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon was still at least two thousand meters above ground. Even though they were flying infinitely close to the speed of sound, they needed a few more seconds to reach the forest below.
However, the Four-winged White Tiger’s speed wasn’t affected much by the attack. It had closed to within only a few hundred meters away from them!

Colors blur into one another until my vision is completely white. All I can think is "Shit, not this again!" I hate being summoned. _________________________________ updates once a week until I get more time The idea for this story began in two places. One was the ridiculously rapid pace of gaining power in many novels. Both in games and in novels, I enjoy the struggle of the beginning character, why always the rush? The other was the way many monster or non-human MCs always seem to hurry to become human (again). It always felt like a cheap way to grant the character extra powers without the difficulty of writing a non-standard thought process. Thus I wanted to write the slow(ish) progression of a monster character gaining strength and intelligence, while remaining distinctly non-human. There are no stats, xp or systems, no reincarnated soul or completely formed being to start with - unless I want to make fun of those. While the MC 'evolves', the process takes months if not years to proceed step by little step. Sit down with me and imagine, what would it be like if...

False Prophecy is a high fantasy saga about a world that loses its chosen one four years before their apocalypse. The Prelude takes place during the five weeks prior to this tragic event, following a husband and father named Kon. When discovered to be a Seer - a human blessed with the power to see and bond with the magical fae - Kon is taken away from his family and conscripted into the Fated King's army to play his part in the coming war. Inspired by Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive, Wildbow's Parahumans, and countless anime. Disclaimer: FP's Prelude Novel, A Sung Prophecy, is slow burn and character focused. Expect lots of worldbuilding and an extensively large cast.

Polly and Drake
Drake has been searching for a job as a personal guard, but wherever he turns, he is kicked out without fail. It's not that he's terrible with weapons, or inattentive. It could be because of his obvious racial heritage. Or because of Polly. With his funds dwindling, the only remaining option is to become one of the Cursed: poor souls that work for the Dragoneye Guild. In other lands, they may be called adventurers, saviors or even heroes, but not in the White Desert. Here, they are shunned and ignored. Depraved people who forsook their humanity for money and fame. With this choice, Drake may not only fall from grace, but also become one of only a few thousands capable of unearthing the secrets of ancient times. If he could get this guardsman notion out of his head. May contain gore, violence, profanity and traumatising content. Taking another shoot at this writing business. I write for fun and when I have time. There is no plan. The story may change drastically from what it starts out - or not. We'll see what happens. Currently, I'm aiming for a Slice of Life with LitRPG elements at a later time.
