Chapter 301: Stuck Here?

Wherever his thoughts were, the sword was there. The scarlet sword instantly punctured the man’s head as it flew out of Zhang Che’s brow.
In the next moment, the man’s figure suddenly turned into a cloud of ash. Afterwards, a black silhouette emerged and flew to the skies above the forest, turning into a fierce devilish face looking down at Zhang Che. It hissed shrewdly, “Damn it, how did you know!?”
Zhang Che’s expression was calm. He pointed at the scarlet sword hovering at his side, saying, “I didn’t notice it. It did.”
-Or rather, they did!-
Just as Zhang Che entered this strange dimension, the two swords in his spiritual sea started trembling violently again, especially at the moment when this man showed himself. The two swords almost went out of control and shot out. How could he possibly not know what was going on then?
What added to Zhang Che’s suspicions towards this man was that after he entered this dimension, he realized he couldn’t help but think of the secret plane, as well as everything regarding other beastmasters.
Although this seemed normal, Zhang Che kept feeling as if something was guiding his thoughts in that direction.
Not only that, the timing of the sea beast’s appearance at the beginning was also a little too much of a coincidence.
What made Zhang Che absolutely certain about all this in the end was what that man said.
He claimed that he traded his spatial storage card with another beastmaster for a weak subdued beast and was waiting for the gateway to open.
However, Zhang Che, who had sufficient understanding towards humanity, knew that if some other beastmasters had really gotten their hands on this man’s spatial storage card, how could they possibly leave him alive?
“Hehehehe, so what if you realized it. Do you think you can kill me?” that black devilish face laughed evilly, emitting a heavy air of resentment. “I have to admit that your luck is very good, to actually obtain a fragment of the Spiritual Sword in these ruins. But, do you think you can kill me with just a fragment?”

After saying that, the devilish face displayed its ferocity and headed straight towards Zhang Che.
A white streak of light shot out from between Zhang Che’s brow. He didn’t attempt to control the white sword. Not only that, he even gave up his control over the scarlet sword.
He could vaguely tell that the reason why the two swords were trembling so violently was because they wanted to take action themselves!
Indeed, after giving up his control over the two swords, they instantly turned into streaks of light and shot towards the ferocious devilish face together.
When he saw the white sword suddenly appearing, the devilish face revealed a look of disbelief.
“How is this possible? How could you have found two Spiritual Sword fragments!?”
He immediately gave up on charging towards Zhang Che, making a sharp turn in the air, trying to fly away. However, the two swords had become a single entity, slashing at it in the form of a helix-shaped scarlet and white sword light.
A sharp howl rang out. The black face shattered into tiny pieces.
A burst of scarlet and white light shone in the sky, like the sun shining on residual snow, instantly melting the collapsed black shadow.
“Hahahaha, I’m finally free after being trapped for countless years… Hehehehe, a day will come when the demon lord reopens the gate to the spiritual realm…”
The devilish face scattered, but Zhang Che’s expression turned extremely ugly.
-Trapped for countless years?-
He understood a little of that. The devilish face said that the secret plane was ruins, and could be understood as an abandoned place. He was trapped here forever, unable to get away.
To that end, could it be interpreted that all the creatures in the secret planes were creatures trapped in these ruins, or their descendants?
Then, the demon lord and the gate to spiritual realm, what were those?
Zhang Che had a vague feeling that all these seemed to have a certain relationship with the spatial gateway that had appeared on Mercury. However, what he knew was too little. It was impossible for him to continue deducing.

“Oh well, I don’t care anymore. Even if the sky falls, there’ll be someone up high holding on. I’m just a little mid-tier beastmaster right now. Why think about all these problems?”
Zhang Che shook his aching head, no longer thinking about all those things. What he was thinking now was to leave the secret plane, or to put it another way, to leave these ruins.
Everything here was too strange. Even though the resources found here were incredibly abundant, and Zhang Che had already gained much, he still wanted to leave as soon as possible.
He didn’t dare guarantee his luck would be good enough to get through any other dangers he might come across, especially since that devilish face’s “last words” made him realize that this so-called secret plane was only the ruins left behind from some far-off era. His desire to leave here grew much stronger.
To be called ruins, this was definitely not a good place.
Didn’t that creepy devilish face just say that he was stuck here for countless years, and unable to get out?
Perhaps the other beastmasters from the previous dimension could wait for the secret plane’s gateway to reopen to leave, but if Zhang Che didn’t think of a way, he would not be able to leave after getting sucked into this dimension.
If there was a way to leave, that devilish face would have left long ago!
-Perhaps, the way to get out is still to dig through the ground?,- Zhang Che thought. There seemed to be no other way.
After making up his mind, Zhang Che summoned the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon, who had recovered to his peak. He rode on the dragon and flew in the skies above the island, wanting to have a proper look to see if there were any other weird places on the island.
This lush green island was huge, with an area of no less than a thousand square kilometers. The terrain of the island was high in the center, with the surroundings low, similar to most other islands.
The Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon flew at high speed around the island. After a rough check, Zhang Che didn’t discover any problems. There were a few dozen species of animals living on the island, forming a little ecosystem.
Zhang Che went to a random mountain top, and dispelled the Purple Crystal Armor, then had the Purple Crystal Tortoise begin another round of mad digging, quickly digging a spiral tunnel into the ground.
“When we dug to the bottom of this dimension, I wonder where the light membrane will lead us to…?” Zhang Che anticipated. He jumped into the hole the Purple Crystal Tortoise dug out, his surroundings instantly turning dark.
A five-colored ray shot out from between his brow. Zhang Che’s biological illumination, the Scarlet Flame Drake, was called upon again. The scarlet flames jumping around its body immediately lit up the hole.
Pa! Zhang Che suddenly stopped in place and slapped the back of his head, mumbling to himself in frustration, “Silly me, who knows how long the Purple Crystal Tortoise has to dig to reach the bottom? I’d better get some food up there first.”
Realizing that, Zhang Che jumped out of the hole. He had the Darkfiend Abyssal Dragon catch a few herbivores unique to the island. At the same time, he had the frisky monkey go pick a bunch of fruits, and they ate a well-balanced lunch on the island.
This time, Zhang Che didn’t wait for long.
On the “star scape” over his head, the light from those little strange crystals had yet to dim down when the Purple Crystal Tortoise appeared from the ground.
Zhang Che looked at it suspiciously, then discovered to his horror that water was flowing out from the hole.
-What is going on?
-Are these islands actually floating above the sea?
-Then, am I also stuck here just like that devilish face?-
Zhang Che’s heart immediately sank.
