My Extraordinary Achievement Chapter 269 – Wrestling Competition
“He tapped the floor, but he wanted to keep fighting. I don’t know how I should end this.”
Meng Fan said as he grabbed Jin Taiyun again. The way he snatched the Korean fighter wasn’t a standard wrestling move anymore, rather, it was as if he was picking up a puppet. Meng Fan looked angry and resigned as he kept throwing the man to the floor.
“If I stopped now, and he said he won, what could I do? I don’t doubt that he’d say something like that.”
Meng Fan moved aside Yang Feng’s hand and picked up Jin Taiyun again. He asked Yang Feng, “Tell me, what should I do?”
Yang Feng had no answer.
Peng!
Meng Fan grabbed and threw the man again. He used more power. The throw was louder, and the scene was more explosive, too.
Jin Taiyun, who was totally under Meng Fan’s control, could do nothing but gasp after being thrown. He couldn’t even move his fingers, his bones felt like they had all broken.
Beg for mercy?
Tap the floor?
Jin Taiyun could do neither at this point. The man’s only hope was Yang Feng. Tears and spit flew down on the man’s face.
He knew if Yang Feng didn’t save him, he’d die!
He didn’t doubt that Meng Fan could kill him!
“Moron! He deserves it!”
Yang Feng cussed. When he saw Meng Fan about to throw Jin Taiyun again, he got an idea. He squatted down by the Korean man, blocking Meng Fan’s move while slapping the ground, counting every slap.
“10!”
“9!”
“8!”
“…”
Yang Fan was impressed by his quick reaction. He started to count down faster so that he could declare Meng Fan’s victory. This way, Meng Fan’s problem would be resolved.

It’s just that before he even finished the countdown, Jin Taiyun had fainted.
Maybe the Korean man felt relieved when he was saved by Yang Feng. He took a breath and blacked out.
“But…”
Yang Feng rushed over to check on Jin Taiyun’s pupils, making sure that he wasn’t dead and just passed out. He called over the doctor at the dojo.
“Ding!”
Meanwhile, a notification came on in Meng Fan’s mind.
“Ding! You have triggered the task [Wrestling Competition Master].”
“This task requires using correct wrestling techniques to subdue the opponent 1,000 times.”
“Upon completion, you will receive the title [Wrestling Competition Master] (Wrestling Technique +10, Power +3)”
There was only one Task Phase, which awards an extra +100 when completed.
As soon as this task appeared, Meng Fan’s anger started to dissipate. He finally triggered the mission. He was confused about the title though; it was even more confusing than [Thousand Hand Snatch]. Did the System watch movies?
The other task details were similar to the [Thousand Hand Snatch], which Meng Fan understood easily. He was a little puzzled that the task wasn’t easy to complete, and the opponent had to be thrown until they fainted for the subduing to work.
Hm, the task seemed to imply wrestling techniques and not just throwing.
Meng Fan thought that wrestling techniques weren’t just throwing, there were other techniques better for subduing.
Meng Fan laughed bitterly. Maybe he didn’t trigger the task correctly. If he learned some wrestling techniques better for subduing, he could have triggered the task early on and not needed to do something so violent.
Well, it was good that Jin Taiyun came over to challenge him, or he’d have never thrown anyone like this otherwise.
What happened next…
“Master Meng, let’s go.”
When Lao Hei saw Meng Fan standing there, he was afraid there’s more throwing. He went over and carefully tugged on Meng Fan, and breathed a sigh of relief when he wasn’t thrown. He grabbed Meng Fan and left the dojo.

Lao Hei was a straight-forward guy, but he was also detail-oriented. He said to Meng Fan as they walked out, “That guy is probably faking fainting so he doesn’t get killed.”
He sounds like Constable Lu from “Heroes of the Marsh.”
Meng Fan let himself be led out by Lao Hei. He wasn’t so brutal as to want to stay.
“He’s faking fainting! See, he’s awake now!’
“Trash!”
“He should have been thrown to death!”
“Meng Fatty is amazing!”
“How dare he show off in front of Iron Hero!”
“What a show!”
“Iron God, you’re my hero now!”
“…”
When the audience saw that Jin Taiyun had opened his eyes for the doctor, they started commenting, making Jin Taiyun shut his eyes. This time, he’s really faking.
Among the female students who supported Jin Taiyun at first, half were on Meng Fan’s side for the fight with the K-pop celebrity, but they were still crushing on Jin Taiyun. They first became uncomfortable when Jin Taiyun twisted the truth, and when the Korean man ambushed Meng Fan after tapping out, they were disgusted. By the time Jin Taiyun was thrown repeatedly by Meng Fan, they were really looking down on him.
Though he was good-looking, he was just a silver-colored wax pipette tip: totally useless.
When it comes to looks, Meng Fan was actually more handsome than Jin Taiyun. He had a body that looked strong and dependable.
Even more important, Meng Fan respected women.
The female students who cursed Meng Fan at first, the airheads, looked very embarrassed now. They had no words.
“Everyone, please leave.”
Yang Feng waved his hand. He asked two people and the doctor to move Jin Taiyun over to the resting area.
“It’s okay now. There’s no one here.”
After making sure everyone left, he woke up the fake-fainting Jin Taiyun.
“Yang Feng, you have to avenge me!”
After Jin Taiyun opened his eyes, he wanted to sit up but yelped from pain.
Yang Feng’s face turned grim. “I told you, you can’t beat him, you didn’t listen! Avenge you… avenge you for what!? Are you forgetting why you started the fight?”
Anger filled Jin Taiyun’s eyes. “Yang Feng, if you don’t avenge me, I’ll—”
“You’ll what? Leave Feng Ji Dojo?”
At that moment, a man came inside the room. He had hair down to his shoulders and a face of full stubble but that didn’t hide his good looks. He was more handsome than Jin Taiyun and had an air of danger about him. His gaze was cold like a viper as he looked at Jin Taiyun, “If you don’t want to die, stay here.”
Jin Taiyun backed up when he saw the man. He wasn’t afraid of anyone at Feng Ji Dojo; he was only afraid of this man, the dojo owner. It wasn’t only because the man knew his secrets but that he knew the man — who had shown his hand or taught at the dojo — was truly powerful.
“Yang Feng, where is that Meng Fan?”
“Brother Ji, you’re not starting anything with him, are you?”
“I do want to start something with him. It’s not because of the Korean fight though. I’ve wanted to beat him up for a while now!”
When he thought of his sister, the adorable, kind, naive girl… the smartest and prettiest girl in the world, he became even angrier.

Paternum: A Superhero Story
When Quinn finds an experimental superpower-granting costume in their parents’ attic, they didn’t expect to be drawn into a web of superhuman intrigue, but their discovery serves as the catalyst for that conspiracy to slowly unravel. At it’s heart, Paternum is an extended coming-of-age story for the main character as they become a superhero, in a world with more reasonable stakes and less powerful heroes than many superheroic worlds. Themes include what art means to different people, and what it means to be a patron, whether as a sponsor, a parent, or a supporter. I consider Paternum‘s primary influences to be the various versions of Spider-Man, J. C. McCrae’s own superhero story Worm, and Drew Hayes’ story SuperPowereds. I hope that fans of such stories can find something to enjoy in mine as well. Paternum is primarily hosted on my website (thevoidwrites.com) where it updates weekly in groups of scenes totalling approximately 2000 words. Here on Royal Road, it will update once daily with one scene at a time, but only after each act is completed on the home site - the next batch of updates is scheduled to begin on February 5th. There is a discord channel for discussion (discordapp.com/invite/QFMM6yA), and you can vote for Paternum on topwebfiction (topwebfiction.com/vote.php?for=paternum) as well. Finally, you can buy the first book of Paternum, The Swift Uplifting Rush, in a couple different ways - as an ebook through Amazon, or directly from me for a discounted price, or as a physical paperback from Amazon. Buying the book will give you access to Drawing Hands, an exclusive arc that won't ever be published on either my site or Royal Road.
