Chapter 1862: I Curse You with this Circle
Unfortunately, Stormwind Stronghold wasn’t easy to fight . It required everyone to be at level 70, and they needed the appropriate equipment . Due to the professional league, the players of Dawn were committed to training . Even the new Instance Dungeon weren’t as important anymore . After all, only five members could enter Instance Dungeons, and the time spent on the First Clear was not as worthwhile . Lu Li dint care . Regardless, he didn’t think that his level would be a disadvantage . Being level 68 was already an accomplishment . Out of these three Instance Dungeons, two of them didn’t require keys, while the third one, Arcatraz, did . There were a few quests that had a requirement of killing the previous two Instance Dungeon Bosses first . As such, Lu Li and the others needed to select one out of The Mechanar and The Botanica to attempt first . Lu Li had already given the key to Arcatraz to Hachi Chan . As expected, Hachi Chan who was loved by all had already completed the first half of the quest . If you gave her complicated instructions to finish a task, she might be too tired to do so . However, if it was a quest, she would absolutely be okay . It was very hard to imagine how a person with such a poor sense of direction could finish a quest . Lu Li chose The Mechanar, which was the corresponding second half of the Instance Dungeon to Arcatraz . Its colour was light blue and it was situated on the left side of the main ship, over the spanner . The hanging fortresses of the void appeared magnificent against the massive crystal-shaped shell . To reach them, the players would need to fly . The party consisted of Hachi Chan, Kitty Likes Meat, Lu Li, Azure Sea Breeze and Fat Monkey . Originally, they were going to take Lonesome Flower, but he rejected Lu Li and joined his sister to attempt another Instance Dungeon, The Botanica . Their team was just as capable with Sesame Rice Ball, Scarlet New Moon and God of Destiny . Evidently, he had also planned to participate in going for First Clears . Unfortunately, no matter if it was Lu Li or Lonesome Flower, neither of them were able to achieve a First Clear . The Mechanar First Clear was taken by Wings of Dawn, while The Botanica First Clear was taken by Peerless City . These two clubs were both powerhousese . When Instance Dungeons didn’t require carefully considered strategy and pinpoint execution, the element of luck came into play . “Monkey, go die! Don’t go calling for your rubbish mounts once the Instance Dungeon is out! Just go jump out the window!” Azure Sea Breeze shouted in rage . “Bro I’m sorry! I’m not a worthy person!” Fat Money cried in pain . “We lost our First Clear because of you! Who cares if you died once? Just go die already . I’ll help you pick up equipment . ” Even Kitty Likes Meat, who usually respected Fat Monkey, also joined in tearing him down . As for Hachi Chan, she was squatting in a corner and using the root of a Snake Letter Grass to draw a complex and mysterious pattern while she mumbled some inaudible words . Evidently, Fat Monkey had sparked public rage . Lu Li had Fat Monkey on his side, who insisted clearing a large group of monsters with his AoE spells . In the end, he got himself and Kitty Likes Meat killed . Lonesome Flower was probably not as powerful as others in his abilities . Even though Peerless City was a sub-guild of Drizzle Court in name, their comprehensive ability was no less inferior from Drizzle Court . After Lu Li had looted The Mechanar and The Botanica again, he had obtained the keys necessary for Arcatraz . When Hachi Chan had gone back to hand in the quest and returned to the door of the Instance Dungeon, everyone entered into Arcatraz . Arcatraz was the third wing of the Stormwind City stronghold . At the same time, it was the place where the Naaru imprisoned all sorts of horrifying and dangerous creatures . There were members of the Dragonflight army, Burning Legion demons and even the Old Gods’ servants . Once Kael’thas occupied the Stormwind Stronghold, he sent a warden to look after this place . Evidently, these prisoners had recently been influenced by a certain existence and were in the middle of planning an escape in secret…This Instance Dungeon was more interesting than the previous two, with mysterious and peculiar creatures . If Dawn continued to be updated, then perhaps one day maps where these creatures originated from would be released for the players to explore . The first Boss was Zereketh the Unbound . Zereketh the Unbound came from Twisting Nether . From his appearance, they knew he was a ‘Blue Fatty’ . A majority of Voidwraiths required constant guidance, but some outstanding individuals didn’t need their owners to frequently order them around . Zereketh stood towering at the entrance of Arcatraz, ready to destroy any unwelcome guests at any time who dared to challenge him . Zereketh was actually a relatively simple Boss to defeat . He had a nether zone, which was like spatial rift . The players there were hit would receive over 200 points of continuous damage, but avoiding this was a simple matter of walking out of the zone . There were black coloured circles on the ground, and it was obvious not to stand on them . Zereketh’s Shadow Nova didn’t deal high damage, nor was it cast frequently . All the attacks of this Boss dealt Shadow damage that ignored armour . With a strong Main Tank like Azure Sea Breeze, there was not much strategy involved . Otherwise, Lu Li could have brought two Bear Druids, or brought more Shadow Resistance equipment – there would always be a solution . Of course, this Boss also had power to kill off a team of players . However, this would only occur if the team had a mental lapse when dealing with the nether zone . The second Boss was Dalliah the Doomsayer . After being imprisoned by Naaru, Dalliah was one of the most evil Warriors of the Burning Legion . She had been cellmates with the Wrath-Scryer Soccothrates, but even that wasn’t enough to change her own bad temperThere were three invisible banshees in front of this Boss . If they couldn’t scout them out, then they would be quickly wiped . Lu Li could sense them from faraway and knocked his longbow . He unleashed a shot, tempting them to rush over to their attacker, and then killed them straight up . This Boss had an interesting skill that people hadn’t encountered before in the game – the Gift of the Doomsayer . This was a debuff that could heal Dalliah if the affected player was healed . This debuff couldn’t be dispelled in any way . As such, Lu Li prevented Hachi Chan from healing the affected players unless it was life-threatening . The third Boss was the Wrath-Scryer Soccothrates . Thousands of years ago, Soccothrates enjoyed a prestigious status among the Wrathguard and stood as the highest commanding officer amongst the Burning Legion . Incarceration did not stem his pride and his inmates couldn’t do anything about it . This Boss did indeed have a few cool skills, but apart from these he had nothing to be proud about . His striking skills could send a player flying 40 yards away, so it was best if the Main Tank leant against a wall . At this, he would charge at random players, leaving a fire trace behind him . These fire traces could cause direct damage, as well as damage over time . Soccothrates also had a blazing halo of fire that extended 15 yards around him . Any player who entered into this range would be burnt to a crisp . All in all, the Boss’ difficulty was dependent on the fire trace after his charge . If one could avoid the fire trace, then he would be easy to defeat . The three Bosses were all defeated in one attempt, and they soon arrived at the final Boss .

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Daily life of a cultivation judge
Tired of those cultivators who think it is righteous to eliminate a sect or clan root and stem all in the name of revenge and avoiding future troubles, fights over treasures that end up destroying cities with no consequence whatsoever to the culprit, these psychos whose aim for the peak always involves a trail of carnage and bloodshed in its wake for some reason. Then look no further than the daily life of a cultivation judge. Yang Qing, is a young genius cultivator from a low-tier family whose only safe choice to get resources and hopefully lead an easy life led him to the courts of the Cultivation Order Society. Author’s disclaimer: Hey there this is my first novel so any criticism will be well taken though beware I’m a million-year-old monster who has cultivated the way of the sword to the peak. The daily life of a cultivation judge will be true to its name so it will be heavily on the slice of life lane with a bit of action here and there.Meaning we will see the life of Yang Qing when he clocks in and out. Hopefully, it will be one of those novels you read if you need to relax or are in a slacker mood like one of those otakus who listen to the noises of cicadas in the summer famously used in most animes. And it is in the slacker spirit that chapter release will be on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday. Sank yuuu Cover art by Conny Schneider on Unsplash
